Villain: Even as a Girl, I Can Still Crush the Protagonist Chapter 83

"Little Wei, what are you doing?" Si hadn't even processed this move.

This was outright kidnapping.

Could it be that she wanted Xia Jingli and Le Xu to rekindle their past connection? No, even if Little Wei was emotionally detached, she would never do something like that.

Sure enough, Little Wei spoke up.

"A water-type ability user. The teddy bear might not need it, but I do. I want to take a bath."

Si: ╮(─▽─)╭

She should’ve known it was about this.

Life in the apocalypse was harsh. Ever since the blood rain began, all water sources had been contaminated and rendered unusable—filthy beyond measure.

To Little Wei, Xia Jingli’s identity as a water-type ability user was a treasure.

She had even specifically asked Si whether this female lead was Xiao Linfeng’s lackey. If not, it’d be a waste to leave her for Xiao Linfeng instead of taking her away.

Besides, she wasn’t supposed to be his in the first place.

Xia Jingli only let out a sigh of relief once their vehicle had put enough distance between them and Xiao Linfeng’s car.

"Thank you," she said softly.

"You didn’t want to stay with him?" Le Xu suddenly asked.

Xia Jingli shook her head.

Who’d like a womanizer? Besides, his constant… urges were something she didn’t even know how to describe.

"Why would anyone want to stay with him?" Le Xiaowei snapped from the front seat.

Le Xu choked back a response but didn’t press further.

"If any of you are thirsty, you can ask me for water. I’m a water-type ability user," Xia Jingli quickly offered.

She might not excel at much else, but when it came to logistics in the apocalypse, she was unmatched.

"Qiaoqiao," Le Xiaowei suddenly called out.

"Huh? What is it, sis?" Yuan Qiaoqiao responded immediately.

"Once it’s close to evening, your cooking skills will come in handy," Le Xiaowei said with a smile.

They drove at high speed for a long time, making sure the male lead couldn’t catch up. When they reached the highway entrance, they found it blocked by abandoned vehicles and swarming with zombies. After a moment’s thought, Little Wei decided against taking the highway.

The road was completely jammed, and the highway probably wasn’t any better. It’d be better to stick to city roads.

With Yu Jing, their human GPS, around, Little Wei wasn’t worried about getting lost.

But what Little Wei hadn’t expected was that, just as they found a place to stay for the night, a living person came storming down from upstairs.

"Like I’d even wanna team up with you losers. What a joke," a handsome young man spat on the stairs before turning to leave.

Le Xiaowei and the others had just parked when the boy spotted them. His expression remained indifferent, and he was about to walk past them without a word—until he passed by Little Wei.

Something about her felt familiar.

He abruptly stopped, then raised his hand, summoning a small orb of deep purple lightning in his palm.

"Does your team… need another member?" He flashed a bright, sunny smile.

A lightning-type.

A flicker of shock passed through Le Xu’s eyes.

Lightning abilities had always been dominant in the apocalypse. Unlike water-types, which only became formidable later on, lightning was highly effective against mutated plants and sea creatures.

With someone like this on their team, their strength would skyrocket.

But this decision was ultimately up to his sister.

"My little sister’s the captain. Ask her," Le Xu said, gesturing toward Little Wei.

Le Xiaowei studied the man in front of her, sizing him up.

"What’s your name?" she asked.

"Handsome."

Le Xiaowei: "…"

"Hard pass. He’s even more narcissistic than me," she said with visible disdain.

Meanwhile, Yuan Qiaoqiao clutched Little Wei’s arm tightly. For some reason, this guy’s gaze made her deeply uncomfortable.

Xiao Linfeng had given her the same feeling.

It was like they both wanted to steal Little Wei away from her.

Why would they do that? No—why was she even thinking like this? Sure, her sister was in her third year of college, and even though she was a zombie, she had every right to date.

This irrational jealousy of hers was seriously messed up.

Yuan Qiaoqiao felt both annoyed and restless, her emotions in turmoil.

"Relax, I was joking. Just wanted to compliment you. So, what do you say? I’m strong—a fourth-tier lightning-type. You won’t regret taking me in. Oh, and my name’s Xie Gantang."

"Si, is this guy good or bad?" Little Wei was certain she hadn’t seen this character in the original story.

"He wasn’t in the novel. Up to you."

The moment Xie Gantang appeared, Si recognized him. This guy was seriously persistent—last time, he’d shown up as Crown Prince Mo Hanyun in Mu Miao’s world, and now he was here in the apocalypse.

Judging by his demeanor, he’d probably hopped through two or three worlds already.

This had to be a coincidence.

Le Xiaowei wasn’t particularly interested in high-tier ability users, but judging by Le Xu’s reaction, fourth-tier was rare.

He might come in handy when hunting special mutants later.

"Fine, he can stay."

Only after Little Wei agreed did Le Xu relax. If they wanted to take down Xiao Linfeng, their current strength wasn’t enough.

For some reason, he felt like there was something far more terrifying backing Xiao Linfeng.

Otherwise, how could a normal person possess so many abilities?

It was downright absurd.

Hearing that he was allowed to stay, Xie Gantang’s smile widened with satisfaction.

"I’ve got some food here—consider it a welcome gift," he said, handing over his backpack.

Yu Jing took a look and whistled. Damn, this was the good stuff—rice and potatoes included. Tonight’s meal was going to be a feast.

The second floor was occupied, and the first floor was flooded, so they headed to the third. Luck was on their side—the unit was empty, seemingly freshly renovated.

It even had a gas stove. In the kitchen, Qiaoqiao found two or three bags of rice and unopened seasonings. The previous owners must’ve been about to move in when the apocalypse hit.

Perfect for them.

Xia Jingli washed the water storage bucket thoroughly, filled it up, then sat down to rest, absorbing the energy cores she’d collected earlier.

"Big bros, what do you want to eat?" Yuan Qiaoqiao asked after cleaning the pot.

"Start with what I brought," Xie Gantang said between crunches of potato chips, looking nothing like someone surviving the apocalypse.

Then again, he hadn’t expected to sense Liu'er’s soul fragment in such a hellish world.

This was just ridiculous.

"Just cook those. We haven’t had a proper meal in ages," Le Xu agreed.

Yuan Qiaoqiao got to work. Just as Xia Jingli stood to help, Little Wei grabbed her hand.

The generator hummed in the background as Little Wei opened the water tank and looked at Xia Jingli.

"Fill this up. I want to take a bath."

Xia Jingli blinked in surprise as Little Wei pulled out three water-type energy cores from her pocket.

She’d just used up her energy to supply water for cooking, but if it meant getting a bath sooner, losing three cores was nothing.
