Do I Look That Approachable

Su Yang pretended to be surprised and leaned back. “You?”

“Yeah. What’s the problem?”

“I don’t have a problem with it. You’re the one I’m worried about.”

“Me? What’s wrong with me?”

“You’re a woman. Aren’t you afraid to act as a tour guide for a strange man you met less than twenty minutes ago, right after he got off a plane?”

Emma laughed indifferently. “What’s there to be afraid of? You look like a good person.”

“Really? Do I look that harmless?” Su Yang asked, rubbing his face.

Emma nodded and shot him a flirtatious wink. “Mostly because you’re incredibly handsome~”

“There are plenty of handsome men around. You can’t go up and introduce yourself to every one of them, can you?”

“Of course not. You’re not just handsome—you have a certain aura about you.”

“What kind of aura?” Su Yang asked.

“How should I put it? Hmm... I guess the simplest way to describe it is that the moment I saw you, I felt an irresistible urge to come over and... get to know you. Other handsome guys may be good-looking too, but they rarely make me feel like I absolutely have to meet them.”

Hearing this, Su Yang thought, “It must be the effect of my Charm stat. A Charm score of 95 really is terrifying.”

—System, bind!

[Ding! Binding successful. Felicia Emma’s favorability toward the host: 40]

—That’s pretty high.

Su Yang replied to the system, then looked at Emma. “You really have a great personality. You’re straightforward. I like that.”

Emma leaned closer with a smile. “You like me?”

“I meant I like your personality.”

“Is that so? Then can I be your tour guide now?”

Su Yang nodded and joked, “Sure. But are you going to charge me?”

“That depends~”

The two exchanged a smile and quickly became familiar with each other.

Su Yang found a topic to talk about. “I saw you rush onto the subway just now. Where were you going?”

“Nowhere in particular. I’d just taken my friend to the airport, and I was on my way home.”

“Oh, okay. Where do you live?”

“I live in District 8.”

“What kind of district is District 8?”

“The Élysée District. Paris has twenty districts in total. District 8 is considered part of the city center, though I live near the edge of it.”

“Really? Which districts are the very center?”

“Districts 1, 2, and 3.”

“Oh, I see.”

“Districts 1 through 8 are the old city, while Districts 9 through 20 are the newer districts.”

“Thanks for the local tour.”

“You’re welcome.”

“So which district does this subway line go to?”

“You can get off at District 10.” Emma smiled.

“Great. Then I’ll follow you?”

“My pleasure~”

Forty minutes later, at 7:15 in the morning, the subway arrived at a station in District 10 and came to a stop.

Emma stood up and smiled. “Here we are. Let’s go.”

“Okay.” Su Yang answered as he stood up, dragging his suitcase behind him.

The carriage doors opened, and Emma walked out first. Su Yang hurried after her.

Before he could even leave the carriage, Emma suddenly let out a terrified scream. A black figure darted past her in a flash, and the black leather handbag in her hand vanished along with it into the crowd.

It happened so quickly. Su Yang had heard that security on the Paris subway was poor, but he never expected to witness a robbery right in front of him.

He quickly ran out of the carriage and came to Emma’s side. “What happened?”

“My bag was stolen!!”

“Damn! He actually dared to steal it right in front of me?! Watch my suitcase. I’ll be right back!” Su Yang said, pushing his suitcase over to Emma before racing after the black figure at an astonishing speed.

Emma stared in shock as Su Yang disappeared in the blink of an eye. Once she regained her senses, she hurriedly shouted for help from the subway security guards.

Meanwhile, Su Yang sped through the crowd. There were a great many passengers in the station, and the thief was clever. Once he entered the crowd, he slowed down and pretended to be an ordinary passenger waiting for a train.

The locals had long since grown accustomed to such incidents. The tourists had yet to figure out what was happening, and no one wanted to invite trouble by getting involved. As a result, nobody stepped forward to help.

But this little trick was never going to fool Su Yang. He immediately locked onto a man standing more than ten yards away.

The man was around six feet tall, heavily built, and weighed roughly 180 pounds. He wore a baseball cap and was dressed entirely in black. A black travel bag hung from his back as he stood among four or five other people, pretending to wait for the subway.

Su Yang smiled faintly and slowed his pace as he approached.

He soon reached a spot a few feet away and studied the man. Emma’s handbag was no longer in his hands. He was clearly a seasoned thief—he must have shoved the bag into his own backpack while running.

The man was highly alert, constantly turning his head to look around.

When the man turned his head away, Su Yang quickened his steps and silently came up beside him, placing a hand on his shoulder.

The man’s entire body shuddered, and he hurriedly turned around.

Su Yang tightened his grip to keep him from running. Looking straight ahead, he said with a faint smile, “You’ve got pretty quick feet, buddy.”

The man had a thick beard and sharp eyes, giving him a menacing appearance. He frowned and asked, “Who are you? Do I know you?”

“Whether you know me or not isn’t important. Come on. I need to have a little word with you.” Su Yang put an arm around the man’s shoulders and prepared to lead him away from the crowd.

Naturally, the man refused. He struggled desperately. “Get your hands off me! Otherwise, don’t blame me for what happens next!!”

“Oh? You’re pretty aggressive. Where’s the bag?”

“What bag? I have no idea what you’re talking about!!”

The man quickly realized that no matter how hard he struggled, he couldn’t break free. Even more terrifying was the fact that this Asian man was holding him down with only one hand.

For the first time, he felt as though he had run into an immovable wall.

Su Yang couldn’t be bothered to waste any more words. He grabbed the man’s shoulder with his left hand and gave it a hard yank, spinning the heavily built man—who was even broader than Su Yang—around.

Then he reached out with his right hand, grabbed the travel bag hanging from the man’s other shoulder, and yanked with all his strength.

Riiip!

The sound of tearing fabric rang out as Su Yang ripped the bag free. The strap, however, remained caught on the man’s shoulder.

The sight instantly frightened the surrounding crowd, and people scattered in every direction.

The man’s eyes filled with blood. He lunged forward to snatch his bag back.

Su Yang casually sidestepped while holding the bag. The man had charged too forcefully, and momentum sent him pitching forward. He nearly fell flat on his face.

“Don’t rush,” Su Yang said.

With a smile, he unzipped the travel bag and looked inside. There were two women’s handbags within it—one white and one black. He had no idea who the white one belonged to, but he recognized the black one immediately. It was Emma’s.

He reached inside, pulled out the black handbag, and said with a smile, “You actually dared to steal my friend’s bag. You’ve got some nerve.”

“What do you mean, your friend’s bag? That’s mine!!” the man shouted.

“Yours? Still refusing to admit it, huh?”

The man’s eyes reddened with fury. Without another word, he clenched his fists and charged at Su Yang again.

Whoosh!

His fist shot straight toward Su Yang’s face.

Su Yang tilted his head and dodged it effortlessly. He slipped to the side and raised a finger, beckoning him closer.

“Come on. Again.”

“You!!! I’ll kill you!!” the man roared, swinging both fists as he launched another attack.

Just then, a rapid series of footsteps sounded nearby. Three guards in black uniforms came running over at full speed, with a petite Emma following behind them.

“Out of the way! Out of the way!” the guards shouted as they ran.

The moment he saw the guards, the man abruptly turned and tried to flee.

Su Yang moved. In what seemed like a flash, he appeared behind the man, seized him by the clothes, and yanked him back with tremendous force.

Crash!

The burly man—six feet one and weighing 189 pounds—was effortlessly dragged back and slammed onto the ground.

Before he could even get up, the three guards rushed forward and piled on, pinning him firmly to the ground.
