How Do You See Me

Su Yang checked the time again. It was 11:10 a.m. in Huaguo, and 5:10 a.m. in France.

The plane began its descent, and not long afterward, it landed safely at Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport.

His first long-haul flight of more than ten hours had finally come to an end.

Following the flight attendants’ instructions, he disembarked with the other passengers. Two blonde flight attendants stood by the cabin door, smiling at him.

“Thank you for flying with France Airlines again. Goodbye!”

Su Yang nodded with a smile and quickly left the plane.

What surprised him was that, aside from English and French, all the signs inside the airport were also written in Chinese. That was a nice touch.

It was more or less unnecessary for him, but for Chinese travelers who didn’t understand English or French, it was incredibly convenient.

Su Yang followed the signs to the baggage claim area, collected his suitcase, and then passed through customs.

Afterward, he casually bought a local SIM card and some euros before leaving the terminal.

Since he was traveling alone and had been taking things rather casually, he had forgotten to book a hotel before setting out. Now, standing outside the terminal and staring up at the pitch-black sky, he was at a loss.

Although it was still very early local time, the airport was one of the busiest in the world, so there were already plenty of passengers around.

He felt like having a cigarette, but he didn’t have a lighter. Just then, he spotted a man a short distance away, puffing away.

Su Yang hurried over to borrow a light, and soon struck up a casual conversation with him.

Charles de Gaulle Airport was located to the northeast of Paris, roughly twenty-five kilometers from the city center.

From the airport, travelers could take the metro, an airport shuttle, or a taxi into the city.

It was six in the morning. The sun hadn’t risen yet, but the metro was already running.

Su Yang had originally planned to take a taxi, but since it was still early and he wasn’t in a hurry, he decided to ride the Paris Metro and experience some of the local atmosphere.

After finishing his cigarette, he headed toward the metro station. The trains here began operating at five-thirty in the morning, with one arriving every ten to twenty minutes. It would take roughly forty or fifty minutes to reach the city center.

Su Yang found the RER B line, which went directly into the city, and paid ten euros for a ticket. He then made his way to the platform and waited.

France was completely different from Japan. When he had visited Japan, he had barely felt as though he’d left China. But in Paris, the sensation of being in a foreign country was unmistakable.

Almost everyone around him was a tall, broad-shouldered European with blond hair and blue eyes.

While waiting for the train, Su Yang activated his scanning ability and looked around.

Unfortunately, he didn’t spot any beauties.

There were plenty of handsome men, though. Most of the men here were tall, with striking features and excellent proportions. Of course, there were also many Black locals.

In a place with so many handsome men, charisma became especially important.

When two people had similar looks, the one with greater charisma would naturally be more attractive to women.

Before long, a harsh screeching sound rang out. A moment later, a train with flashing lights came speeding along the track to the right.

Once the train came to a stop, the doors opened, and Su Yang followed the crowd into the carriage.

He had assumed that the Paris Metro couldn’t be that bad. But the moment he stepped inside, he was hit by an indescribable stench. The facilities inside the carriage were also rather old and worn.

Damn! What is that smell?

Covering his nose, Su Yang moved toward the next carriage. It wasn’t until he had passed through two more sections that the odor finally began to fade.

With a helpless look on his face, he found a corner with slightly fewer people and stood there.

How can the subway in such a huge city be this poorly maintained? Damn it. I should’ve taken a taxi.

It was six-thirty in the morning, yet the carriage was already packed. There wasn’t a single empty seat.

Su Yang grabbed a handrail, and the train soon began moving.

About ten minutes later, the train slowed as it entered a station. Quite a few people got off, and more than half of the passengers in Su Yang’s carriage left.

Several seats became available. Su Yang dragged his suitcase toward the seat nearest to him, tucked beside the wall, and sat down.

Just as the carriage doors were about to close, a blonde-haired woman sprinted in through the doorway beside Su Yang.

Hearing the commotion, Su Yang turned to look.

The sight left even him, a man who had seen countless beautiful women, stunned for a full second.

The woman wasn’t particularly tall. She had medium-length, light-brown hair with a slight wave, brushed back to reveal her forehead. Her skin was incredibly fair, and her features were practically flawless. She had deep-set eyes, long, curving eyebrows, a high nose with a slightly upturned tip, and a mouth that was neither too large nor too small—perfectly proportioned.

Her face gave her the regal air of a noble princess, but her clothes were extremely casual.

She wore a black T-shirt with English lettering on it, a simple pair of tight-fitting jeans, and white canvas shoes. A black handbag hung from her shoulder.

Whoa. Her looks are seriously top-tier.

Scan!

[Felicia Emma, Age: 26]

[Height: 163 cm]

[Weight: 48 kg]

[Appearance: 97]

[Figure: 94]

[Number of Relationships: 2, Single]

[Body Count: 1]

[Traits: Lively, cute, straightforward, and unconventional]

Ninety-seven? Incredible. I knew she had to be above ninety-five. In that case, I suppose I can reluctantly forgive this lousy subway.

Emma was standing across from Su Yang, looking down at her phone. She appeared to be replying to a message and hadn’t noticed him yet.

More than ten seconds later, she looked up and happened to see Su Yang sitting directly opposite her.

Their eyes met.

Her pupils suddenly widened, and her eyes darted around.

Su Yang didn’t keep staring at her. Instead, he deliberately turned his head away. He had mastered the art of playing hard to get.

Judging by Emma’s reaction just now, he knew she would definitely come over and talk to him.

Emma held her phone and thought for a few seconds. Then she walked over and sat down beside him, pretending to act casual.

Their eyes met again, and they exchanged polite nods and smiles.

Su Yang said nothing. He simply took out his phone and began playing with it.

Every now and then, Emma deliberately turned her head to look toward the next carriage. In reality, she was sneaking glances at Su Yang.

Su Yang’s profile would have been considered top-tier anywhere. Combined with his explosive physique, it was almost too much for Emma to resist.

A body like his was certainly popular among women in China, but there were still plenty of Chinese women who didn’t care for that kind of build. In Western countries, however, things were different. To women there, his physique was practically irresistible.

The train soon slowed and stopped at another station. Not many people boarded this time, but several women in their fifties and sixties took the empty seats beside Emma.

After thinking it over for a full station, Emma was finally ready to speak. The main problem was that she didn’t know where Su Yang would get off. Since she had already decided to approach him, she needed to start the conversation as soon as possible.

As the train started moving again, Emma tilted her head and lightly tapped Su Yang on the shoulder.

“Hello?”

Finally, Su Yang thought.

He turned to her with a smile. “Hmm? Is there something you need?”

Hearing his fluent English, Emma put on an exaggerated look of surprise.

“You speak English?”

“I do. Is there something I can help you with?”

“In that case, this makes things much easier. Hi, handsome. Can I get to know you?”

Wow. She’s that direct? I thought she might ask to borrow my phone or something.

Su Yang deliberately hesitated for two seconds before asking, “I suppose I could, but…”

Before he could finish, Emma cut him off. “I just think you’re really handsome and wanted to make friends. I’m not a scammer.”

‘Westerners really are direct.’

“No problem. You’re very beautiful too. What should I call you?”

“You can call me Emma. And you?”

“My name is Su Yang.”

“You’re Chinese?” Emma asked.

Su Yang nodded. “Yes. You’re from around here, I assume?”

“Mm-hmm. I’m French.”

“Then why aren’t you speaking French?”

“I was worried you wouldn’t understand me.” Emma smiled.

Su Yang shook his head and said in French, “I can understand you. You can speak French with me.”

This time, Emma wasn’t pretending to be surprised—she genuinely was. She openly looked Su Yang up and down before smiling and saying, “How is your accent even more authentic than mine? Did you grow up in France?”

“No. This is my first time here.”

Hearing that, Emma smiled and furrowed her brows. “Then are you a French major?”

“Neither. I taught myself.”

“That’s incredible. You’re the first person I’ve met who taught themselves and reached this level.”

“You’re too kind.”

As Emma spoke, her eyes never left Su Yang’s face. “Are you visiting Paris? I noticed you have a suitcase.”

Su Yang nodded. “Yes, more or less.”

“Alone?”

“Yes.”

Emma rolled her big eyes and smiled. “Since it’s your first time here and you’re traveling alone, you might need a local guide.”

“Haha, I suppose you’re right. But I’m traveling independently rather than with a tour group, so I don’t have a guide.”

Hearing this, Emma tilted her head, pointed at herself, and gave him a sweet smile. “What about me?”
