Su Luo Leaves the Battlefield

The Beast Lord was dead, yet many found it hard to believe.

It had happened too suddenly, almost absurdly so.

From the Beast Lord's second phase to his demise, not much time had passed—not even three hundred rounds of combat.

Just like that, he was gone.

The overwhelming aura of rebirth the Beast Lord had exuded was far from weak, nor was it a fleeting last stand. Yet despite that, he had fallen.

Just how powerful had Su Luo become?

They couldn’t comprehend it at all.

However, the beast army had no choice but to accept the truth. The connection they shared with their lord had clearly vanished.

The beasts erupted into collective howls, their mournful cries piercing the sky.

Then, they descended into chaos, rampaging wildly.

This outcome was unacceptable to them. A war of this scale shouldn’t have ended so abruptly.

With their lord slain, the beast army burned with vengeance.

Di Haoran struggled to believe the Beast Lord had truly perished, but he still declared, "The Beast Lord is dead. You’ve lost."

The Lion Heart King disengaged from combat, his body relaxing as he stood calmly in place. "Yes… we’ve lost," he admitted.

The Lion Heart King hadn’t expected this—even after the Grand Sacrificer had offered himself up, the Beast Lord had still fallen.

Yet Di Haoran sensed no surrender in his opponent.

Sure enough, a terrifying surge of power erupted from the Lion Heart King once more, his golden mane blazing brighter than ever.

A deafening roar shook the battlefield.

That single cry reignited the beast army’s fury.

"Even in defeat, we won’t let you walk away unscathed!"

The Lion Heart King resolved to fight to the death.

Di Haoran’s expression darkened as he re-engaged his foe.

Though the Beast Lord was dead, the battle was far from over. The sheer numbers of the savage beast army were no joke.

Meanwhile, Lin Xuan had awoken, roused by the overwhelming force of Su Luo’s final strike.

Gazing up at Su Luo in the sky, he felt, in that moment, as if he could never hope to catch up to him.

But then, Su Luo suddenly plummeted from above.

"Su Luo!" Lin Xuan shouted, rushing forward to catch him, assuming he had exhausted his strength.

Su Luo twisted midair, planted a foot squarely on Lin Xuan’s face, and used the momentum to flip away, landing gracefully.

Lin Xuan was left dumbfounded, yet a part of him found it perfectly normal—after all, Su Luo’s actions were always unpredictable.

"Lin Xuan!" Su Luo snarled back, his voice dripping with killing intent. "This time, you got lucky. Next time, it’ll be your death."

Huh?

Lin Xuan couldn’t fathom why Su Luo would say such a thing now.

Su Luo coughed up a mouthful of blood but still managed to retrieve the Divine Beast Blood from the Beast Lord’s corpse before vanishing.

Even Su Luo himself found his words illogical.

Strangely, it seemed they genuinely regarded him as one of their own.

But it didn’t matter. Mission accomplished.

Su Luo moved on to his next destination.

His actions had been too swift for anyone to process. Like Lin Xuan, the others were left bewildered, unable to grasp Su Luo’s motives.

Still, one fact remained undeniable—Su Luo had slain the Beast Lord.

Now, he was likely off to recover, given the amount of blood he’d just coughed up.

As for his threat to kill Lin Xuan? They figured if he’d wanted to, he could’ve done it anytime. With his power, it’d be like slaughtering a chicken.

Regardless, the battle raged on.

Lin Xuan rallied the troops. "The Beast Lord is dead! Let’s finish this!"

"Ooooh!"

The death of their foe had indeed bolstered their morale.

Even against the frenzied beast army, their spirits remained unbroken.

The two sides clashed ruthlessly.

With the Beast Lord and the Grand Sacrificer gone, the beast army’s high-tier combatants had been crippled. Their defeat was only a matter of time.

---

Su Luo reappeared beside Nangong Xiyun.

Thanks to her sword formation, only the Leopard Speed King remained in the vicinity.

"Hey, long time no see."

"You finished things way too fast," Nangong Xiyun remarked, her icy battle demeanor melting into a smile.

"Hah, just luck," Su Luo replied. Truthfully, he hadn’t expected it either.

Jiang Ningshu’s earlier efforts had set the stage perfectly.

The Leopard Speed King immediately retreated to the edge of the sword formation, eyeing Su Luo warily.

This was the man who had slain the Beast Lord.

The leopard weighed his options. Against Nangong Xiyun alone, he’d already been struggling. Now, with another formidable enemy…

He sighed. Today might be his last.

But he refused to back down. If he was going to die, he’d take someone with him.

Yet Su Luo and Nangong Xiyun paid him no mind.

"Why’d you come here?" Nangong Xiyun asked.

"Missed you," Su Luo answered simply. Since they were nearby, he’d dropped by.

"Me too."

But this wasn’t the time for affection. Nangong Xiyun resisted the urge to embrace him.

Su Luo added, "My business here is done. I’ll be staying at Purple Light Mountain for a while."

One of his reasons for coming was to let her know where to find him.

"Got it. I’ll come see you when this is over."

"See you then."

And just like that, Su Luo vanished again.

He didn’t ask if she needed help. He trusted her to handle things.

Once Su Luo was gone, Nangong Xiyun’s expression turned frosty once more. "Let’s end this quickly."

"Arrogant! You think you’ve already won?" the Leopard Speed King spat.

He’d figured out a way to counter her sword techniques.

Yet he despised himself for feeling relieved when Su Luo left.

How pathetic.

If he was going to die, he’d drag her down with him.

Their battle resumed.

---

Su Luo wasn’t done yet. He next appeared beside Li Siyi.

Engrossed in fighting the beast army, she hadn’t noticed his approach.

"Not bad with that sword," he commented.

Startled, Li Siyi turned. "You’re here?"

"I won’t ask too much now. Explain things to me later," Su Luo said. He knew she took her responsibilities seriously.

The battle wasn’t over, and she couldn’t afford to slack off.

The details could wait. He was mostly curious about why Lin Xuan and the others’ attitudes had shifted so drastically.

He didn’t bother asking anyone else. He’d rather hear it from Li Siyi.

"Okay," she agreed.

After telling her where he’d be staying, Su Luo left once more.

---

On a nearby mountain, Jiang Ningshu waited. She hadn’t gone far.

Su Luo arrived. "Let’s head back."

"Sure." She didn’t hesitate.

The rest of this fight wasn’t their concern.

Neither of them cared much for it anyway.

And so, they returned to Purple Light Mountain.

As for Little Yu? She knew where to find Su Luo. Besides, she still wanted to fight.

So he let her stay.
