What the heck, how come you're all saying nice things about Su Luo

“I still prefer the way you were just now, all arrogant and unyielding.”

“I’m sorry, I was wrong. Please spare me.”

If he had known how ridiculously strong Su Luo was, Wei Changli would have swallowed his pride long ago. Kneeling down and letting you ride him, like a pillion, wouldn’t have been so bad.

Now, having exhausted all his strength, he couldn’t kill Su Luo, and instead, his own life hung in Su Luo’s hands.

As he felt the flow of his vitality wane, Wei Changli reverted to his true self—a coward who feared death more than anything.

“Do you really think I’d let you off the hook?” Su Luo sneered.

“I want to live!” Wei Changli pleaded, his eyes filled with desperation. “Please, my cultivation journey isn’t over yet.”

“Too bad. If you don’t die, how could I rise to the top?”

Seeing that Su Luo was dead serious, Wei Changli’s heart sank, and he couldn’t help but reminisce about the past.

Every step he had taken with such caution, every position he had reached...

He had thought he could become a titled Heavenly Demon, or even one of the Four Great Heavenly Demons, and perhaps even rise to the position of Left or Right Protector, or even Demon Lord.

Now, he was about to die here. Tears swelled in Wei Changli’s eyes.

Su Luo shook his head. “Why so sad? Isn’t your life already a joke?”

“It only became a joke because of you!” Wei Changli roared with his last vestige of strength.

Su Luo kicked him right in the face, silencing him, but didn’t kill him.

“Don’t worry, you’ll live a little longer.”

Originally, he had planned to let Wei Changli fight Lin Xuan, but now, with Wei Changli in this state, a fight was out of the question.

He certainly wasn’t going to heal him—that’d be a dream too good to be true.

But handing him over to Lin Xuan to finish off would align with the plot, more or less.

That settled it.

So, Su Luo grabbed Wei Changli’s foot and began dragging him toward Lin Xuan and the others.

......

Meanwhile, Li Siyi and Little Yu had rejoined the group.

Li Siyi presented the guide Su Luo had drawn.

“Look what I got, a detailed map of the secret realm.”

Everyone gathered around, amazed at how comprehensive it was. Detailed notes on what was where and what to do.

“Where did you get this? Is it trustworthy?” someone asked.

Li Siyi replied, “I snatched it from Su Luo. It’s probably based on historical records from the Heavenly Demon Sect.”

“Snatched, huh?” Xie Feiran couldn’t help but chuckle. He knew full well Su Luo had probably handed it over willingly.

In truth, Lin Xuan and the others also had secret realm records from the Seven Stars Sword Sect, but those were vague and incomplete. This guide, however, was impressively thorough.

The Heavenly Demon Sect’s foundations clearly ran deep.

What was even more impressive was that Su Luo had managed to obtain it. One couldn’t help but marvel at Su Luo’s infiltration abilities.

But they didn’t rush to the secret realm just yet. Lin Xuan decided to first resolve things with Wei Changli.

After waiting for a while, Su Luo still hadn’t returned.

Xie Feiran asked Lin Xuan, “Do you think Su Luo will really bring Wei Changli here?”

“He will. Isn’t that what he’s signaling with all of this? But we might have a tough fight ahead, so stay sharp and don’t get careless.”

“Got it.”

If Wei Changli showed up, he wouldn’t come alone.

So, the odds were roughly fifty-fifty, or maybe even worse.

But this was an opportunity Su Luo had fought hard to secure, giving them time to set up an ambush.

If they blew this, it’d be a humiliating failure.

“Here they come!” Lin Xuan called out, detecting movement.

From a distance, they saw Su Luo holding Wei Changli’s foot, dragging him along.

What was this?

The scene looked a bit off, somehow.

Su Luo shouted toward Lin Xuan, “You’re done for! Wei the Demon Lord is here to personally send you all to hell! None of you will escape!”

Then Su Luo simply tossed Wei Changli toward them.

Wait, what…

Lin Xuan and the others stared at Wei Changli, his face pale and lifeless. They weren’t sure what to think. Wasn’t he the one about to go to hell?

They didn’t say anything, but Wei Changli broke the silence.

“…Save… save me! He’s a monster! If you save me, I’ll tell you where the best treasures in the secret realm are hidden!”

At that, Xie Feiran felt a twinge of pity for Wei Changli. Did he really think bargaining with that information would save him? Su Luo already had everything.

Su Luo suddenly turned tragedy-stricken. “Wei Mozi, how could you have died by their hands!”

"Lin Xuan, now that you’ve murdered Wei Mozi, the Heavenly Demon Sect will never let you off!"

And with that, Su Luo turned and bolted.

It was awkward, sure, but that was the plan. By pinning Wei Changli’s death on Lin Xuan, no one in the Heavenly Demon Sect would believe a word from the Seven Stars Sword Sect.

The performance was over.

Su Luo didn’t want to stick around a second longer, disappearing the moment everyone was still in shock.

Seeing Su Luo flee, Wei Changli suddenly felt a glimmer of hope.

“Spare me, and I’ll tell you many secrets of the Heavenly Demon Sect!”

Lin Xuan glanced at him and then swiftly pierced him through with his sword.

Wei Changli died, still bewildered as to why.

Letting Wei Changli live meant there was a chance Su Luo could be exposed, putting him in danger. Lin Xuan wasn’t about to show mercy.

Besides, didn't Su Luo say it himself? Wei Mozi died at Lin Xuan's hand, which meant Su Luo had concluded that Wei Changli was no longer of any value.

Lin Xuan naturally acted accordingly.

In truth, even if Lin Xuan hadn’t killed Wei Changli himself, Su Luo would have finished the job in secret. But seeing Lin Xuan act so decisively, not even interested in the Heavenly Demon Sect’s secrets, was somewhat unexpected.

Su Luo’s scheme had flowed effortlessly, leaving Xie Feiran pointing in the direction Su Luo had fled, asking Lin Xuan, “Does he always pull off stuff like this?”

They had anticipated a fierce battle, but instead, Su Luo had simply delivered Wei Mozi to them, neatly framing them for his death.

Despite the awkwardness, they were kind of delighted by it.

Xie Feiran exclaimed, “This is way too cool!”

Lin Xuan replied, “Yeah, he sometimes likes to take shortcuts.”

"But this is cutting it too short! He just straight-up killed Wei Mozi, and he's become that strong?!"

Most spies and moles could only manage passing on information, but Su Luo had taken out his own boss?

Suddenly, Xie Feiran felt a wave of realization wash over him.

“Little Yu, I get it now. Su Luo is the strongest.”

The cryptic words 'pure Wuta' had finally made sense to Xie Feiran.

What made it even more ridiculous was how he had once looked down on Su Luo.

Little Yu chuckled, clearly enjoying the praise for Su Luo. She had been following the conversation somewhat confused, but as long as it was about Su Luo being awesome, that was good enough for her.

Seeing Lin Xuan nearby, Xie Feiran felt his earlier words might have been a bit much.

“Lin Xuan, I don’t mean you’re weak or anything, you’re really strong too, it’s just…”

“I get it,” Lin Xuan said. “I admire Su Luo too. If it were me, I wouldn’t have been able to pull off what he did.”

One of the Seven Stars Sword Sect members chimed in, “Wait, don’t you guys realize Su Luo isn’t even trying to hide anymore?”

“Maybe the Heavenly Demon Sect is all but wiped out here. Who’s really going to know in this secret realm?”

“Hmm, that does make sense.”

Everyone immediately found the logic convincing.

Only Li Siyi was filled with a series of question marks. She had been confused from the start.

What the heck?

Why are you all suddenly praising Su Luo?

Isn’t he the traitor?

Why are you talking about him like he’s perfect?
