If there was one person Little Wei and Si disliked the most, it was Yuan Qiaoqiao.
Even after returning to her original form, Yuan Qiaoqiao was still the same Yuan Qiaoqiao.
But sometimes, Yuan Qiaoqiao still had to make an appearance—for instance, during the annual surge of Void Creatures, a major catastrophe for the Void World.
In the past, Ye Jin had been responsible for suppressing the chaos, but Ye Jin was gone now, leaving Little Wei and Si to handle it this time.
Of course, dealing with the Void Creatures wasn’t something Leap Void Corporation could handle alone.
The Void was home to many other organizations and races besides Leap Void.
Void Creatures were notoriously difficult to deal with. Most deities couldn’t handle them unless they fought fire with fire. For example, Si, once the goddess of the Canglan Realm, found her divine bow useless against the rampaging Void Creatures—they simply shrugged off her attacks.
So this time, Si had no choice but to summon Yuan Qiaoqiao.
Because only Yuan Qiaoqiao could awaken the darker side of her divine soul.
As for Little Wei, her staff already had a malevolent aspect, so she didn’t need such complications.
However, the leaders of the other organizations and races looked down on the new head of Leap Void Corporation.
"Ye Jin picked this thing to lead?" A man in black sneered, glancing down at the petite Little Wei.
People in the Void were naturally tall—even the women stood at least 5'7".
To them, someone as short as Little Wei might as well be an ant.
Yuan Qiaoqiao stepped in front of Little Wei, gripping a black-feathered bow, her gaze icy as she glared at the crowd.
"You all really have too much free time. Can’t you mind your own business?"
The original Si had met these people before. During system vacations, when hosts weren’t around, Ye Jin would sometimes bring a few systems to the Void to broaden their horizons.
These were all big shots in the Void.
Si would never have openly provoked them.
But Yuan Qiaoqiao was different—she did as she pleased and absolutely despised anyone who bullied Little Wei. It was like stepping on her tail.
The leader who’d been snapped at by Yuan Qiaoqiao snorted but held back from retaliating.
If they started infighting now, everything would descend into chaos.
Taunting was one thing, but if they actually fought, the Void Creatures would be the ones celebrating.
"Where’s the problem this time?" Little Wei asked Chi Mu, nodding toward the man at the front sketching on a tablet.
Dressed in embroidered crimson robes, he didn’t look particularly alluring, but there was something indescribable in his expression.
Before coming, Little Wei had done her research. This man didn’t belong to any organization or race—he was nurtured by countless minor worlds. She didn’t quite understand how that worked, but given his status, he clearly had real skill.
"The Chaos Abyss," the man answered.
As the others continued discussing, Little Wei tugged at Yuan Qiaoqiao’s sleeve.
"Don’t start trouble, okay?" she muttered.
The problem was, Yuan Qiaoqiao was impossible to control. If she decided to do something, Little Wei might as well hang herself right then and there.
God, she really didn’t want to be stuck with Yuan Qiaoqiao.
Even with Si’s personality balancing things out, just the sight of Yuan Qiaoqiao made her legs shake.
Come on, Gu Wei, you’re a man—can’t you stay calm and stand your ground?
Little Wei pinched her own thigh hard.
When Yuan Qiaoqiao turned back, she saw Little Wei with teary eyes, looking pitifully wronged.
This version of "Big Sister Wei" was just begging to be messed with.
But Yuan Qiaoqiao suppressed the urge.
"What happened?" Yuan Qiaoqiao frowned. "Did someone hit you?"
Her tone carried a hint of anger.
Who dared lay a finger on her sister?
"I pinched myself," Little Wei admitted quietly.
Yuan Qiaoqiao: "..."
Of course. I take her too seriously.
Before Little Wei could react, Yuan Qiaoqiao yanked her into an embrace.
Oh no. Absolutely not.
What the hell was this woman doing?
Little Wei was ready to scream.
"Sister, you shouldn’t be so mischievous. You need to behave—then I’ll like you more." Yuan Qiaoqiao stroked Little Wei’s hair, her eyes soft.
But Little Wei wasn’t blind. She could see right through that gentle facade—inside, Yuan Qiaoqiao was nothing but filth.
With that thought, Little Wei instinctively shrank back.
Ugh.
Hadn’t Yuan Qiaoqiao been dead for years?
About the dead suddenly attacking me—
Little Wei felt like her misery could fill a book.
"Why are you backing away?" Yuan Qiaoqiao narrowed her eyes.
"Behave my ass," Little Wei shot back without blinking.
Yuan Qiaoqiao: "?"
"Sister, are your bones itching?" Yuan Qiaoqiao’s voice was light, but it sent a chill down Little Wei’s spine.
Oh no. Is she about to unleash her full power?
Little Wei instantly surrendered.
"Nope," she shook her head frantically.
"Bones itching"? What kind of phrasing is that?
"If your corporation has no objections, I’ll send you the map. This is your assigned area," the red-robed man said, approaching them.
"Just the two of us?" Little Wei blinked.
Oh hell no.
Wouldn’t sticking with the main group be better? Why split up?
If this was the arrangement, she might as well start crying now.
"Of course. Aren’t you two a pair? Si, you have experience, and even though this girl seems delicate, I trust Ye Jin’s judgment," the man said with a faint smile.
Little Wei: "..."
I appreciate the vote of confidence, but I’d rather not.
"Uh, what about Chi Mu? Can we bring him along? We’re close—it’d speed things up."
The man paused at Chi Mu’s name, glancing over at where Chi Mu was chatting with a group of deities.
"Well... he’s assigned to the Canglan Realm’s team. If you want him, just ask him yourself. Not a problem." The man didn’t care about such minor details.
With that, he walked away.
Little Wei and Yuan Qiaoqiao stared at each other.
"Why invite him?" Yuan Qiaoqiao was visibly repulsed.
She wasn’t fooled—that man was Xie Gantang, a thoroughly unpleasant character.
Little Wei: "..."
The Void is vast. If Yuan Qiaoqiao drags me off somewhere, I’ll have no way to escape.
Bringing Chi Mu was insurance.
Besides, this time Chi Mu was in his true form, and the two of them had always been rivals—no chance of collusion. As long as they were together, Little Wei would find a way to survive.
With that in mind, she hurried over to Chi Mu.
