I'm Still a Baby

Chen Shuo grumbled, "Look at you, deliberately entrapping me and then getting angry when I fall into it."

It seemed like he had already forgotten?

Back then in the alley behind the snack street, Chen Shuo had pulled Su Xiyan's hand and brought her away from the trouble.

Thinking of this, a nameless fire ignited in Su Xiyan's heart.

How dare he forget!

Too much!

Way too much!

During the meal, Chen Shuo felt something was off with Su Xiyan. Her expression and gaze didn't look much different from usual.

However, her whole body emanated resentment, as if someone owed her a few million.

Even the meal was eaten with considerable thorns. When taste testing, Su Xiyan had praised Chen Shuo for the good taste of the steamed fish.

But when formally starting to eat, Su Xiyan had only taken a bite before frowning and complaining, "Too inedible, make it again."

Question marks floated over Chen Shuo's head. "Didn't you try it before? You said the taste was fine, how did it become inedible now?"

Su Xiyan put down her chopsticks. "I said it's inedible so it's inedible. If you doubt me, you eat it all."

Chen Shuo was not polite either, moving the whole plate of steamed fish in front of himself and happily eating it up.

Su Xiyan: "..."

He actually ate it so blithely?

Also with such a carefree attitude?

She didn't know why, but Su Xiyan just didn't want Chen Shuo to be too comfortable.

Who made him always irritate her?

"Pick out all the fish bones for me. I only want to eat the fish meat."

Chen Shuo: "??? What are you, a three year old kid?"

Su Xiyan leaned forward slightly, propping up her chin with both hands, smiling bitterly, "Yeah, I'm still a kid."

Chen Shuo looked at Su Xiyan, completely dumbfounded.

She...was this acting cute??

People get paid to act cute. Su Xiyan's cuteness could kill!

Who knew if she would stab chopsticks into Chen Shuo's heart while acting cute? The scene would be too beautifully shocking, Chen Shuo didn't dare imagine further.

"If you want to eat fish just say it directly! Beating around the bush isn't like you!" Chen Shuo peeled the meat near the fish's belly, the part without bones, tender and soft, and picked it up for Su Xiyan, "Eat the meat near the belly when eating fish. No bones and very tender, melts in your mouth."

Eating fish wasn't Su Xiyan's main goal. She didn't even glance at the fish Chen Shuo picked for her, thinking about how to continue finding faults with him.

But that seemed too obvious.

She had to restrain herself! Su Xiyan tidied up her messy thoughts, sat up straight, and continued eating.

Chen Shuo suddenly had a look of sudden realization. "I know why you're being weird."

Su Xiyan's heart tightened sharply. What did Chen Shuo find out?

Chen Shuo gazed at Su Xiyan, slowly leaning closer. He stretched out a hand and felt Su Xiyan's forehead, then felt his own forehead with his other hand.

His eyes gradually became bewildered, "No fever! So why do you look a bit off?"

Su Xiyan: ...

You're the one with a fever! Your whole family has a fever!

"I'm not eating anymore! Make the dishes with more care next time!"

After saying that, Su Xiyan put down her bowl and chopsticks, and went back to the master bedroom without looking back.

The bedroom door closed with a bang, the sound echoing in the living room.

Chen Shuo was completely confused. What just happened?

But he didn't think too much about it. It was said a woman's heart is hardest to guess, much less a woman like Su Xiyan with eight hundred tricks up her sleeve.

Chen Shuo shook his head, shook the scene out of his mind, and started happily eating.

Soon, he had stuffed all the dishes into his stomach.

Chen Shuo leaned back in his chair, letting out a satisfied burp.

Looking at the bare table and then looking at Su Xiyan's pitch black room.

The satisfied smile on Chen Shuo's face became somewhat stiff.

Su Xiyan had trained all day too, she must be hungry as well?

Who cares! Better for her to be a bit hungry, hopefully hungry enough to not have the energy to mess with me!

Having happily decided so, Chen Shuo cleaned up the dining table and kitchen, then took a nice hot shower, lying on the bed extremely satisfied.

After playing some games for a while, it was late into the night. Chen Shuo, probably from eating too much, felt a dry mouth and throat.

He got up and went to the fridge for some soda.

He saw that Su Xiyan's room light was on, and the light leaking from under the door was very soft.

Woke up from hunger huh? Serves her right!

Chen Shuo felt smug, drank a couple sips of soda, and imagined Su Xiyan's hungry look.

Would she wake up from hunger in the middle of the night and drag him out of bed to make her a midnight snack?

It'd be better to just make the snack now and bring it to her, rather than let her disturb my sleep later!

Having happily decided so, Chen Shuo took some ramen noodles, baby bok choy, pork tenderloin, and a few jumbo shrimp from the fridge.

He started boiling water, and put the noodles in once it was boiling.

In a separate pan he heated up oil, and sliced pork tenderloin sizzled as it slid in, turning into tender white slivers in no time.

After a few minutes, the soft noodles went into the boiling broth.

Together with the tender pork and shrimp, dotted with blanched green baby bok choy, and finally sprinkled with some chopped green onions.

A bowl of colorful, aromatic, and mouthwatering pork noodle soup was ready.

Chen Shuo held the bowl in one hand, took some chopsticks in the other, and lightly tiptoed to Su Xiyan's door.

He raised his hand and lightly knocked on the door.

Inside the room, Su Xiyan was sitting against the headboard, reading a book under the dim bedside lamp.

Her stomach had been growling loudly for a while. Usually she could endure it, but today with a full day of classes, and being too busy with the kendo club stuff during lunch so only eating a sandwich to get by, she had been hungry since afternoon.

After class ended in the afternoon she went to kendo club practice, already starving.

She was actually missing the meals Chen Shuo made at night a little! If she knew better she wouldn't have picked a fight, and could've filled up first before properly teaching him a lesson!

Her stomach even felt a dull pain.

But if she asked for a midnight snack now, wouldn't that punk Chen Shuo mock her?

Just as Su Xiyan was torn between going hungry and saving face, there was a soft knock on the door.

Why was Chen Shuo knocking so late into the night?

Su Xiyan didn't want to respond to him, pretending to be asleep.

After knocking twice without a response, Chen Shuo tried the door knob and found it unlocked.

He silently pushed open Su Xiyan's door, hesitating for a few seconds with the noodles in hand, before lightly walking into her bedroom.
