During breakfast, Xu Mei seemed to perform magic, bringing out all kinds of breakfast from the kitchen.

There were so many dishes that Su Xiyan's table was completely filled. Xu Mei only managed to put some on Chen Shuo's side when there was no more room.

Chen Shuo couldn't help but retort, "Please! Mom, I'm your biological son!"

Su Xiyan was extremely well-behaved: "Thank you Auntie! Auntie is such a good cook. Chen Shuo must have inherited his cooking skills from you. No wonder Chen Shuo's dishes are so delicious too."

Xu Mei's eyes curved into crescent moons: "Eat more if you like it. Feel free to ask Shuo Shuo to cook whatever you want to eat in the future."

Su Xiyan put down her chopsticks and put on a rather aggrieved expression, seemingly wanting to say something but holding back, sighing as well.

Xu Mei immediately sensed Su Xiyan's change of mood and anxiously asked, "What's wrong Xiyan? Are you unhappy about something? Did someone bully you? Tell Auntie and I'll stand up for you!"

Su Xiyan looked at Chen Shuo resentfully. Her clear eyes seemed to hold a spring that stirred one's desire to protect her.

Her voice was full of grievance: "Auntie, I also want to eat the dishes Chen Shuo makes for me, but I haven't had them for a long time already."

Xu Mei glared fiercely at Chen Shuo before gently patting Su Xiyan's shoulder, "Chen Shuo is too much! Don't worry, I'll deal with him!"

Su Xiyan: "It's okay Auntie. After all, Chen Shuo doesn't live with me anymore. It's impossible for him to cook for me every day from school to my home, right?"

Xu Mei understood what was going on. So it turned out that the school called to say Chen Shuo had moved out as a boarding student previously, and had been staying at Su Xiyan's home? But now they're not living together anymore? Could it be that they had some conflict?

Now with the parents' approval, Chen Shuo couldn't stay in the dormitory even if he wanted to!

Sure enough, after breakfast, Xu Mei called the supervisor and finalized Chen Shuo's boarding student arrangement again.

Amidst Su Xiyan's "Auntie" and "Thank you", Xu Mei gradually lost herself. Her eyes only saw Su Xiyan, her prospective daughter-in-law. Her biological son Chen Shuo was temporarily forgotten.

At noon, Xu Mei went out with Auntie Zhang to entertain local clients over lunch, leaving Chen Shuo and Su Xiyan at home.

Not long after Xu Mei left, Su Xiyan revealed her true colors.

She was like a lazy little cat, leaning against the sofa with her long legs resting on the edge, taut and firm.

"Su Xiyan! If your name isn't among this year's Oscar Best Actress nominees, I refuse to accept it!!" Chen Shuo fumed.

Su Xiyan looked lightly at Chen Shuo, "Oh? Haven't you been putting on an act too? Let's just keep acting then."

Moving back to live with Su Xiyan at Haiyi Apartments had become an irreversible fact.

Chen Shuo: "Hmph! I'll show you what I can do once I've moved back to Haiyi Apartments!"

Su Xiyan raised her eyebrows slightly: "I actually want to see what exactly you can do to me."

Chen Shuo replied bluntly: "Su Xiyan, I'm the Ghost King now! Not that former little vampire who had to cling onto your thigh to beg for my life!"

"So you'd better be more respectful towards me!"

Su Xiyan hugged a cushion, "Turns out to be the Ghost King. Pardon my rudeness!"

"Your Ghost King Highness, spare me! If you're unhappy, doesn't that mean you'll play around killing an Exorcist?"

Facing Su Xiyan's deliberate provocation, Chen Shuo was like a little leopard pouncing towards her.

"This Exorcist looks rather attractive, it'd be a pity to kill her just like that. How about..."

Chen Shuo leapt over and pressed Su Xiyan against the sofa backrest.

There was still a cushion between them.

Chen Shuo: "This Exorcist is not bad, just my type. As long as you behave yourself, I may temporarily spare your life."

In the next moment, Chen Shuo only felt the world spinning.

Su Xiyan had flipped their positions and pinned Chen Shuo beneath her on the sofa, her slender beautiful legs pressing into his back.

Just then, Chen Shuo's phone rang.

It was his mom Xu Mei calling, "Be good and cook for Xiyan! There are some ingredients left in the fridge, see what you both feel like eating and go buy some more."

Chen Shuo responded, "Got it!"

While entertaining clients and socializing outside, mom still thought about what Su Xiyan would have for lunch?

Does she dote on her goddaughter this much?

Xu Mei seemed to be calling from a restaurant. There were sounds of a waiter speaking and taking orders, as well as a few people chatting.

One voice seemed very familiar?

Chen Shuo lightly poked Su Xiyan, signaling her not to speak. Then he switched his phone to loudspeaker.

Hearing the voices from the phone, Su Xiyan's expression drastically changed!

Chen Shuo wanted to confirm further but Xu Mei had already hung up.

Su Xiyan: "That was Tang Zhiyuan's voice!"

"The client Auntie is treating today is actually Tang Zhiyuan??"

Chen Shuo nodded, "I knew that voice sounded familiar! It can't be a coincidence for Tang Zhiyuan to appear around here."

"Don't know what he's trying to do getting close to my mom."

"This is bad, I need to head out for a bit!"

After speaking, Chen Shuo grabbed his coat and went out.

Su Xiyan followed behind as both headed towards the parking lot.

Chen Shuo made up an excuse to get his mom to send over the location.

They drove towards the restaurant coordinates Xu Mei sent.

En route, Chen Shuo's eyebrows were tightly knitted, his face full of worry.

Seated in the passenger seat, Su Xiyan would look at Chen Shuo from time to time. Finally, she revealed her other reason for coming to Chen Shuo's hometown this time, "Chen Shuo, actually I came to see your family this time for more than just meeting your parents."
