Extra: 3 (New Beginning: Part 2)

"Can you even drive?"

The man in the black suit stormed out of the car, furious, and inspected the vehicle.

The Gu Family's black SUV was sturdy and durable, so it wasn't too damaged, just a slightly bent bumper.

The small car in front, however, was a different story. The rear end was dented, and the rear window glass was shattered all over the ground.

The other driver, a middle-aged man wearing glasses, quickly got out to check the damage. He frowned and said, "Sir, don't you know you should maintain a safe distance? It's clearly your fault."

Hearing this, the man in the black suit froze for a moment. He took off his sunglasses and leaned forward, saying, "What did you say? Say it again."

The middle-aged man swallowed hard, a bit frightened, but still firm in his stance. "Sir, this is your fault. You didn't maintain a safe distance."

"Heh."

The man in the black suit smirked. "So, you're saying I should pay you, huh?"

"Of course. It's your full responsibility. If we don't settle this privately, I'll call the police." As he spoke, the man with glasses took out his phone and pretended to dial.

"You think I'm giving you face?"

The man in the black suit snatched the phone from the middle-aged man. "Do you know who I am?"

The man with glasses swallowed hard. "Just give me my phone back. You know this is illegal, right?"

"Illegal?" The man in the black suit scoffed. "Let me tell you, I'm..."

Before he could finish saying the word "Gu," a figure stepped forward from behind, standing between the man in the black suit and the middle-aged man.

"Gu Shao?"

The man in the black suit gritted his teeth and looked at the middle-aged man. "Look, you've disturbed our Gu Shao. You're going to..."

Before he could finish, Gu Fan took the phone from the middle-aged man and handed it back to him with a slight bow. "I'm sorry, sir. Here's your phone."

The middle-aged man took the phone, his brows furrowed in confusion.

He couldn't quite figure out what these two were up to. One was acting tough, and the other was playing the good cop. Were they trying to set a trap for him?

Regardless, he decided to call the police.

Thinking this, the middle-aged man didn't say a word and immediately pretended to dial again.

"I'm sorry, sir. Can we settle this privately? We're in a hurry." Gu Fan said sincerely.

"Settle privately?" The middle-aged man paused and glanced at Gu Fan. "Who knows what kind of trap you're trying to set for me."

"You're overthinking it."

Gu Fan shook his head and smiled, taking out his own phone. "How much do you want? As long as it's reasonable, I'll pay you right now."

"Huh?"

The middle-aged man was taken aback. He hadn't expected Gu Fan to be so straightforward.

If he's offering to pay me directly, there shouldn't be any tricks, right?

With some hesitation, the middle-aged man opened his payment QR code. "Fourty thousand. Not a penny less. But let's make it clear, you're the ones proposing to settle privately, not me trying to extort you."

"Of course."

Gu Fan nodded, estimated the price, and found it reasonable. He scanned the code and transferred the money. "It's done. Could you please move your car?"

The middle-aged man finally felt reassured upon receiving the transfer.

...

"Gu Shao, why did you..."

As the SUV started moving again, the man in the black suit looked at Gu Fan with confusion.

Gu Fan shook his head. "It was clearly our fault. Why did you have to be so aggressive?"

"I..." The man in the black suit was at a loss for words.

Gu Fan smiled and answered for him. "Is it because you think being part of the Gu Family gives you the right to do whatever you want?"

"No, that's not it. I just didn't want to waste Gu Shao's time." The man in the black suit offered a weak explanation.

"Heh."

Gu Fan chuckled. "To you, I'm the Gu Family's young master. But to that gentleman just now?"

The man in the black suit swallowed hard and nodded. "I... I understand, Gu Shao."

"Good."

Gu Fan nodded. "Let's head home. My parents have been waiting for a long time."

"Yes."

...

At the Gu Family Manor.

A state banquet chef hired two years ago had prepared a lavish feast for the entire Gu Family.

In the main hall, the ladies surrounded a tall and beautiful young woman, showering her with warmth and concern.

These ladies had been in this world for over twenty years, yet somehow, they seemed to possess some kind of magic. Their faces showed no signs of aging, as if they were still the beautiful young girls they once were.

"Our little Xin must have a lot of suitors, huh? Is there anyone you like? Bring them home so your parents and we can take a look." Bai Yutian teased.

Gu Xin shook her head. "Oh, Bai Auntie, don't joke around. Yes, there are a lot of people chasing me, but... I don't like any of them."

"You're not interested in men, are you?" Bai Yutian teased again.

"Stop it!" Gu Xin frowned.

"Alright, alright, I won't say anything more. Or else our little Xin will get mad." Bai Yutian stuck out her tongue.

After a moment of small talk, Gu Xin looked around.

"Has my brother come back yet?"

"Someone has already gone to pick up Little Fan. He'll be back soon."

At that moment, Su Qianmo and Gu Chenan descended the stairs.

Su Qianmo was still as cold and stunning as ever, her beauty untouched by time.

And Gu Chenan's face showed no signs of aging either, as if he were still the young master of the Gu Family.

"Dad, Su Auntie."

Gu Xin excitedly waved her hand.

"Xin is back?" Gu Chenan smiled warmly.

Gu Xin took three steps at a time and hugged Gu Chenan's arm. "Dad, I missed you so much!"

"Hmph."

Gu Chenan shook his head and smiled. "But I didn't miss you."

"Why?" Gu Xin was momentarily stunned.

"Because..." Gu Chenan teased with a smile. "You're so annoying..."

"Damn it!"

At that moment, a bodyguard quickly entered the main hall and bowed slightly to Gu Chenan. "Master, Gu Shao has returned."

Gu Shao...

Hearing this title, Gu Chenan was momentarily lost in thought.

Even though many years had passed and the title "Gu Shao" had long since been passed on to Gu Fan, every time he heard it, Gu Chenan couldn't help but feel it was still referring to himself.

"Ah, Little Fan is also back."

Gu Chenan waved his hand. "Let's all take a seat quickly. The food will get cold."

"Yes, let's take our seats."

Su Qianmo gestured with a "please" motion.

Gu Xin looked around and asked in confusion, "Hey Dad, where's my aunt?"

"Your aunt is here."

At that moment, a slender woman with a perfect waist-to-hip ratio waved at Gu Xin from the second-floor corridor.

"Auntie!"

Gu Xin excitedly ran up the stairs and hugged her. "Auntie, I missed you so much."

Seeing this, Gu Chenan shook his head. "Yajie, come down with Xin and eat."

"Okay." Xiao Yajie nodded.
