Extra: 2 (Gu Fan and Gu Xin: Part 2)

You have no idea, none of my family members like anime or the two-dimensional world. Every day at home feels like I'm on a deserted island.

On the way home, Gu Xin chatted with her classmate as they walked.

“Same here, my parents don’t like anime, well, not that they don’t like it, they just don’t understand it.” Her classmate complained.

“Me too, my dad, my mom, even my aunts, none of them understand anime, let alone the two-dimensional world!” Gu Xin said angrily, grinding her teeth.

“Adults will never understand our world. We are the loneliest.”

Her classmate launched into a melodramatic monologue.

After walking for a while, her classmate hesitated and said, “By the way, is your brother really okay? It looks like he’s being cornered by someone… maybe Huang Li?”

Gu Xin glanced at her and shrugged, acting like it was none of her business. “Don’t worry, he’ll be fine. If anyone’s in trouble, it’s Huang Li and his gang.”

Hearing this, her classmate was shocked. “Your brother can take on so many people by himself?”

“No,” Gu Xin shook her head. “My brother can’t, but my family can.”

“Your family…”

Her classmate was puzzled. Did Gu Fan really call his family to help him fight? That didn’t seem right.

Before she could figure it out, a black SUV roared up and slowly stopped in front of them.

The window rolled down, and Ma Bing poked his head out. “Xin Xin, where’s your brother?”

“Uncle Ma, my brother’s still at the school gate, surrounded by a bunch of thugs.” Gu Xin pointed in the direction of the school.

“Alright, you go home now.”

As Ma Bing prepared to drive off, he suddenly remembered something and stuck his head out again. “Xin Xin, don’t tell your dad about this, okay?”

“Well…”

Gu Xin rubbed her fingers together, hinting.

Ma Bing sighed and pursed his lips. “Fine, fine, I’ll transfer you some money when I get home.”

“Deal!”

Gu Xin’s face lit up with joy and she quickly shook her head. “I know nothing about today’s events!”

Ma Bing nodded and stepped on the gas, speeding toward the school gate.

“Is he your uncle?”

Her classmate asked at this moment.

“Yeah.”

Gu Xin nodded. “Now I’ll have money to buy some merchandise, yay!”

“Your uncle looks really scary…”

Her classmate was still fixated on Ma Bing’s intimidating appearance.

“Scary?”

Gu Xin looked puzzled. “I think Uncle Ma is really cute. He’s very caring toward me and my brother. My dad says he’s a big contributor to the Gu family.”

“The Gu family?”

Her classmate frowned.

Adding “family” after a surname usually meant they weren’t just any ordinary folks.

...

“Has your uncle arrived yet? Did you ask your uncle, and then he had to ask your dad?”

“Hurry up, what happened with Huang Li isn’t going to be swept under the rug.”

At the school gate, the thugs still surrounded Gu Fan, clearly not letting him leave.

But Gu Fan wasn’t in a hurry to leave. In fact, he had no intention of leaving at all.

“What’s the rush? Are you all in such a hurry to die?”

Gu Fan taunted.

Upon hearing this, the thugs exploded with anger.

“Gu Fan, don’t think your uncle is coming and you can talk to us like that!”

“You little punk, do you want to die? Ask around First Middle School, who doesn’t know the name of Brother Tiger, the Bald Boss?”

“If you keep talking crap, we won’t bother settling things between Huang Li and you. We’ll just deal with you directly!”

“You don’t know when to stop! Do you really think you’re somebody?!”

At that moment, a black SUV roared up, screeching to a halt beside Gu Fan.

“Oh, your uncle drives such a nice car? Guess he can afford to pay Huang Li a big sum, huh?”

Seeing this, the thugs didn’t feel any danger. Instead, they thought they could extort some money.

But the next scene left them all wide-eyed.

A series of bangs sounded as the doors opened, and along with Ma Bing, four or five burly men in black suits stepped out of the car, instantly standing behind Gu Fan.

“Xiao Fan, what’s going on?” Ma Bing asked.

Gu Fan pointed at the group in front of him. “Uncle Ma, they want to beat me up.”

“Is that so?”

Ma Bing stepped forward and looked at the bald leader, Brother Tiger. “You want to beat up Xiao Fan?”

Ma Bing’s imposing presence, combined with his muscular build and the four equally intimidating black-suited men behind him, immediately intimidated the thugs.

Brother Tiger swallowed hard and his eyes darted left and right.

Finally, he waved his hand. “No, no, it’s just that Gu Fan beat up my brother, and I just wanted to ask about it.”

“Your brother?” Ma Bing scanned the group. “Which one?”

“Me…”

Huang Li swallowed hard and answered.

“A few days ago, we had a little argument, but he attacked me without provocation. If it weren’t for the classmates holding him back…”

As he spoke, Huang Li swallowed again. “Uncle, I… I just wanted to seek justice.”

Hearing this, Ma Bing pursed his lips and turned to Gu Fan. “Xiao Fan, is that what happened?”

Gu Fan nodded smugly. “Of course. This guy dared to talk to me loudly, so who else would I beat up? Besides, he actually dared to fight back…”

“Shut up!”

Ma Bing immediately cut Gu Fan off and turned back to Huang Li. “I’m sorry, it’s our Xiao Fan’s fault.”

Then, Ma Bing took out his phone. “Here, I’ll transfer you some money. Go buy yourself something to eat.”

Hearing this, Huang Li was stunned, the thugs were stunned, and even Gu Fan was stunned.

What was going on?

With such a fierce entrance, they thought Ma Bing and the others were here to back up Gu Fan, but instead, they were really just here to take Gu Fan home?

And not only that, they were offering compensation?

Who could have expected that four or five burly men in black suits would show up just to apologize and compensate a middle school student?

Huang Li couldn’t believe it, the thugs couldn’t believe it, and Gu Fan certainly couldn’t believe it.

He had thought Ma Bing would come and make quick work of the thugs, leaving them begging for mercy. But instead, the situation unfolded like this?

“Uncle Ma, why…”

“I told you to shut up!”

Ma Bing cut Gu Fan off again, turned around, and scanned Huang Li with his phone, transferring him a thousand yuan.

Although a thousand yuan wasn’t much, it was still a significant amount for a middle school student.

“Thank you, uncle. From now on, everything between me and Gu Fan is settled!”

“Mm-hmm.” Ma Bing nodded. “Alright, you can all disperse now.”

“Got it! We’re leaving right away!”

The thugs, afraid Ma Bing might change his mind, disappeared instantly.

At this moment, Ma Bing turned back, his face dark, and pointed at the SUV. “Get in the car.”

Still in shock from what had just happened, Gu Fan was confused. “Uncle Ma, why did you give them money? They were the ones who wanted to beat me up. You should have…”

“I told you to get in the car!” Ma Bing commanded coldly.
