Young Master Xu What a Genius

Xu Mu felt a bit puzzled. Li Yun’s illness should have been cured by now, and there was nothing unusual going on at their home.

“Yingying, what’s going on?”

“My mom has to go out to work, but I don’t want her to leave. Right now, besides you, I have no one else to talk to.”

Zhao Yingying spoke from the other end.

“Alright, I’m just about off work. I’ll come over and check on things,” Xu Mu said with a smile at his phone.

“Thanks so much, Mu-ge,” Zhao Yingying’s voice was full of apology.

“No need to be polite, we’re family,” Xu Mu replied.

After saying that, he turned and headed toward the urban village in Jiang City.

……

When Xu Mu arrived at Zhao Yingying’s doorstep, he knocked gently on the door.

“Mu-ge!”

Zhao Yingying called out as soon as she opened the door, even before she saw Xu Mu.

“Where’s your aunt?” Xu Mu asked with a smile.

“She’s inside.”

Zhao Yingying stepped aside, letting Xu Mu enter first.

Once inside the living room, Xu Mu noticed Li Yun wasn’t there. Using his perception, he glanced around and saw Li Yun lying on the bed in the bedroom.

“Mu-ge, have a seat first. I’ll go call my mom,” Zhao Yingying said before heading to the bedroom.

Xu Mu sat down on the sofa, scanning the bedroom with his perception. Suddenly, his eyes widened.

It turned out Li Yun was still resting on the bed, wearing only a blue piece of lingerie.

“This is an absolute disgrace!” Xu Mu muttered in shock.

Hearing Xu Mu had arrived, Li Yun immediately got up and put on her clothes.

Not long after, Li Yun and Zhao Yingying came out of the bedroom together.

“Xiao Xu, I’m sorry to trouble you again. This girl has been calling you whenever something happens lately,” Li Yun said apologetically, dressed simply in a black dress.

“No problem, it just means Yingying and I are close,” Xu Mu stood up with a smile and asked, “So, what’s going on? What happened?”

“Actually, it’s not much. Because of my illness, my breakfast shop was taken over by someone else. We still owe a lot of money, so I’m thinking of finding a job,” Li Yun said.

She walked over to the water dispenser and poured a glass of water for Xu Mu. “But the wages in Jiang City aren’t as good as in Yang City. I want to go to Yang City to work first and pay off the debts.”

“Mom, I don’t want you to go so far. Your illness just got better. I’m afraid you’ll overwork yourself again. Isn’t it okay to stay in Jiang City?” Zhao Yingying asked. “I can come home every weekend or in the evenings when I don’t have classes.”

“Auntie, how much do you owe? I can cover it for you,” Xu Mu said from the side.

Li Yun and Zhao Yingying both showed signs of increased favorability.

“No way! Xiao Xu, most of the debt is yours. How could I have the face to borrow from you again?” Li Yun shook her head. “This time, I absolutely can’t accept your help. I have a friend in Yang City, and I’m going to stay with her.”

“Auntie, why not come work at our company? I can get you a higher salary,” Xu Mu suggested, looking at Li Yun. If she worked nearby, he’d see her often and it would also add to his sense of righteousness.

“I already promised my friend. She said the company she’s taking me to is a big one, and the boss is from Jiang City. At least I want to check it out first,” Li Yun said to Xu Mu.

“Alright then,” he agreed.

Seeing how determined Li Yun was, Xu Mu didn’t say much. “If anything happens, remember to call me.”

Li Yun smiled and nodded.

Zhao Yingying saw that Xu Mu had agreed, so she didn’t press the matter any further.

...

As Zhao Yingying saw Xu Mu off, she suddenly said, “Mu-ge, Fang Chu called me again earlier.”

“Oh? What did he say?” Xu Mu asked, curious.

“She said you’re known in our city as a notorious spendthrift, doing all sorts of bad things. He also said...”

“Go on, don’t hold back,” Xu Mu said with a smile.

“He said you’re helping me just to make us owe you a favor. Your real intention is to possess me... and even my mom.”

Zhao Yingying lowered her head, her last words barely above a whisper.

Xu Mu secretly cursed Fang Chu in his heart. That guy was shameless—he was the one who wanted to take possession.

“Do you believe him?”

“Of course not! I was so angry when I heard what he said that I hung up immediately.”

Zhao Yingying looked up at Xu Mu. “You’re obviously so good to me. Last time I wanted to... repay you, but you didn’t agree.”

“Heh, as long as you know,” Xu Mu said, patting Zhao Yingying on the head. “Remember to let me know if anything comes up.”

“Alright, Mu-ge. After my internship, Mom and I will pay you back.”

Zhao Yingying’s eyes were firm as she clenched her small fists.

“No rush. Your big brother has money,” Xu Mu replied, waving goodbye to Zhao Yingying.

...

Back at home,

Ye Tong had arrived earlier and was watching TV with Ye Yu.

After returning, Xu Mu first told Ye Tong what Xu Shou had said today.

“Are you going tomorrow night?” Xu Mu asked with a smile.

“I’ll pass. I have to work tomorrow,” Ye Tong shook her head gently.

“Brother-in-law, my sister lied. She’s just afraid of running into someone she knows,” Ye Yu said, crossing his arms.

“My sister had a lot of admirers back in Yang City,” Ye Yu added.

“Stop talking nonsense!”

Ye Tong pinched Ye Yu’s cheek, then looked at Xu Mu. “I’ll follow Dad’s advice. If he wants me to go, I’ll go.”

Xu Mu smiled. “Alright. But his opinion is just a reference—it’s mainly up to you.”

Ye Tong smiled lightly and nodded.

After dinner, Xu Mu took Ye Tong upstairs.

Ye Yu rolled his eyes. This annoying brother-in-law—does he really have that much energy?

“Remember to take me to school tomorrow morning. My electric scooter is still parked there!” Ye Yu called up.

Once in the bedroom, Ye Tong suddenly remembered the kidney tonic Xu Mu had mentioned last time.

So back then, he had already started researching this new medicine.

Could Xu Mu be so strong because of this medicine?

“Wife, what are you standing there for? Come to the meeting!” Xu Mu urged.

...

Early the next morning,

Xu Mu stretched his arms vigorously, and Ye Tong slowly woke up.

No need to pretend to be asleep today—she had a mission and could avoid trouble.

“Husband, I’m going to make breakfast. I’ll take Xiao Yu to school this morning,” Ye Tong said, getting up first.

“Sounds good.”

Xu Mu nodded gently. Before he could get out of bed, Xu Shou’s call came through, telling him to get to the company early today.

He sighed helplessly, even starting to envy the former playboy Xu Mu—at least he had nothing to worry about.

After hastily finishing his meal, Xu Mu headed straight to the company.

This time, he didn’t go to his own office first but went directly to the chairman’s office on the top floor.

Pushing open the door, he found not only Xu Shou and Xu Ningbing there, but also the old man Wang Weiliang.

Seeing Xu Mu, Wang Weiliang immediately lunged forward, grabbing Xu Mu’s hand. “Genius! Absolute genius! Young Master Xu, your medicine is going to explode! It’s going to blow up big time!”

“Mr. Wang, calm down and tell me slowly—what happened?”

Xu Mu was a bit taken aback, not used to an old man grabbing his hand the moment he walked in.

“Yesterday, I followed your method and made a trial batch. I took it home and tried it myself. Guess what? The nagging old woman who’s always yelling at me actually got up early this morning and made me breakfast.”

Wang Weiliang was beaming with excitement—being a real man felt pretty great.
