World's Top Powers

The Heaven Organization? I remember Lin Chen mentioned he was a ninja from the Land of Clouds.

An Yi pinched his chin as he stared at Big Beard.

"He is indeed from the Ninja Alliance, but why would he join the Heaven Organization?"

Jiang Cheng asked while picking up the freshly cleaned brass knuckles again, clearly intending to give him a third round of "persuasion."

Seeing the cold glint of the knuckles, Big Beard shuddered and quickly explained, "It's because the Ninja Alliance and the Heaven Organization have had ties for over a century! In fact, some of the Heaven Organization's leaders are ninjas from the Land of Clouds!"

"Gabriel, one of the current Twelve Archangels, is already dead. Next, a new leader will be selected from among the top assassins!"

"After discussions among the eleven remaining leaders, the condition for promotion is the heads of everyone in the Asura Sect!"

"Whoever contributes the most points will inherit the title of the Twelfth Archangel, Gabriel, and become the new leader!"

After finishing, Big Beard exhaled in relief, then glanced at Jiang Cheng with disdain. "Tch, you guys at the Law Enforcement Bureau already knew all this, didn’t you? You damn sadist, just looking for an excuse to beat me up again!"

Jiang Cheng grinned and nodded.

Well, he actually didn’t know any of this.

After beating this guy for half the day, he’d finally gotten some valuable intel.

"Points, huh? That’s interesting."

An Yi smirked. "So, how many points do I have?"

Big Beard glanced fearfully at Jiang Cheng, noticing his fists were already twitching, and hastily answered.

"Leader An Yi—5 stars. Lin Chen—4 stars. Chen Bing—4 stars. Bai Xiu—3 stars. Fang Jueming—3 stars. Xiao Ye—2 stars. Shangguan Qianqian—2 stars. Qin Shan—1 star. Liu Dachao—1 star. Xiao Yike—1 star. Long—1 star. Jie Nan—1 star. Hu—1 star. Han Liang—1 star. Mo Jiu—1 star."

After hearing this, An Yi raised an eyebrow.

"Well, damn. Everyone in my Asura Sect has been targeted by the Heaven Organization."

"How many assassins have you sent in total?" Jiang Cheng asked coolly.

Big Beard frowned. "A lot. Who can keep count—"

Suddenly, his eyes widened as he pointed at Jiang Cheng. "Wait, you silver-haired bastard! You tricked me! The Law Enforcement Bureau had no idea about any of this!"

Jiang Cheng smirked. "Then let’s switch questions. What’s the secret behind the Twelve Leaders of Heaven? Why are so many people desperate to join them?"

"It’s a world-class organization! Who wouldn’t want a seat among the Twelve Archangels? Don’t even think about squeezing more info out of me—I won’t say another damn word!"

With that, Big Beard turned his back to them and lay still like a dead pig.

Jiang Cheng raised an eyebrow. Looks like he’d need a different approach.

Still, this guy had a high pain tolerance. That was troublesome.

"The Heaven Organization can provide finished serums. That’s the real reason so many assassins are drawn to them."

Chen Bing’s voice came from the stairs leading down to the prison.

At the mention of "serum," Big Beard’s body twitched slightly, his eyes sharpening.

"Oh, it’s the glasses guy!"

An Yi brightened up.

Though he still couldn’t remember this subordinate’s name.

"It’s Chen Bing!"

Chen Bing adjusted his black-framed glasses with his middle finger and replied coldly.

Jiang Cheng glanced at him. "What’s this about serums?"

"They’re extracted from the bodies of demonic beings. After refinement, they grant the user the abilities contained within. That’s what makes them so desirable." Chen Bing’s expression turned grim.

Hearing this, An Yi pinched his chin in thought.

He still had ten serums in his possession. Were they after those?

"Let’s talk outside. We’re not getting anything else out of Big Beard. He’s useless now. We’ll send him to the morgue later."

Jiang Cheng stood up and pulled the lever, closing the prison gate.

"Nani?!"

The "dead pig" Big Beard suddenly snapped his eyes open.

The three returned to the surface and entered Jiang Cheng’s office.

"Nothing fancy to offer, but make yourselves comfortable."

Jiang Cheng tossed out three sitting cushions casually.

An Yi walked in and glanced around. The office was simple.

"Yep, dirt poor."

Seems the Law Enforcement Bureau’s "young master" wasn’t exactly rolling in cash.

Jiang Cheng leaned back. "The reward for becoming a leader is a serum. But I heard those things have side effects—like turning people feral or driving them insane."

Chen Bing explained, "The serums given to new leaders are highly purified. The side effects are minimal. For example, Gabriel’s was from a four-eyed snapping turtle. It granted water-based abilities along with incredibly tough defense."

"That’s why each serum is priceless. Literally worth a kingdom."

"Seriously? Just one serum has assassins fighting like this?"

An Yi pondered for a moment before realizing just how valuable the ten serums in his storage space really were.

"No wonder Nie Chengwen killed his six-year fling over them."

Chen Bing’s expression darkened. "Right now, only two factions possess this technology—Heaven and Nie Chengwen’s Ghost Carving Organization."

At the name "Nie Chengwen," Jiang Cheng’s eyes snapped open. "Nie Chengwen? He’s the leader of Ghost Carving?"

Chen Bing nodded. "Exactly."

"That’s… unbelievable. This is huge. But I’m really curious—where the hell did you get this intel?" Jiang Cheng studied Chen Bing thoughtfully.

Chen Bing replied flatly, "Hmph. Remember the three rules Han Bing set? No questions."

"That bald bastard again. Fine, I won’t pry." Jiang Cheng shrugged.

"Is the Ghost Carving Organization that scary?" An Yi asked.

After swiping those serums, his relationship with "Boss Nie" wasn’t exactly salvageable.

They were bound to be enemies in the future. He needed to know what he was up against.

"A world-class powerhouse."

Jiang Cheng summarized it simply.

Seeing An Yi still didn’t grasp the scale, Chen Bing added, "Any organization that ranks among the world’s top factions is terrifyingly strong. The Great Xia Empire has three—the Pantheon, the Law Enforcement Bureau, and the Dao Alliance."

"Heavenly Dragon Temple didn’t make the cut?"

An Yi was slightly surprised.

Jiang Cheng nodded. "Other nations have their own forces. Like the Roth Family in the U.S., who control the world’s largest fortune. The Hong Family Gang—the biggest overseas Xia syndicate. The Yakuza and Ninja Alliance from the Land of Clouds. The Black Hand Party in Italia. The Drug King of Mexica. The Brahmin Sect of Indra. The Curse God Cult of Tai. The 16K of Hong Kong. The Mammoth Syndicate of North Ursa. The Med Cartel of Columbia. Then there are factions not tied to any nation—the Hundred Ghosts, Heaven, the Underworld, Ghost Carving…"

Listening to Jiang Cheng’s explanation, An Yi finally understood the scale of what he was facing.

He already had a rough idea of how powerful the Pantheon, Law Enforcement Bureau, and Dao Alliance were in Great Xia.

But now, the Heaven Organization he wanted to destroy was also on that level.

Still, that just made things more interesting.

Chen Bing looked at An Yi seriously. "Right now, our Asura Sect is their target. We need to protect ourselves first."

An Yi grinned. "Sitting around waiting to die is boring. I’ve got a better idea."
