Leisure Seating in a Sea of Flowers

A month had passed.

During that time, Liao Pantu had kept a sign reading “Temporarily Closed” planted at the entrance to the Yaoguang Small World.

Thus, no one had gone inside to take a look. The sign, however, had only made everyone even more eager to see what lay within.

The barely contained excitement and smug satisfaction on Liao Pantu’s face were unmistakable as he nodded.

“It’s ready.”

The moment he nodded, everyone at the table announced that they would go over to look around and show their support after the meal.

So, once dinner was over, everyone followed him up onto the floating island.

When they arrived at the entrance to the small world, they discovered that the sign that had originally been stuck in the ground—“Temporarily Closed”—had vanished. Clearly, Senior Liao had taken it down himself.

Standing beside the entrance, Liao Pantu was grinning from ear to ear as he gestured for everyone to enter.

The entrance to this Floating Light Small World did not require people to enter one at a time. Several people could go in together.

The instant they entered, everyone was stunned by the scene before them.

Judging from the way Senior Liao had spent the past month practically living in the small world, vanishing from sight unless it was mealtime, they had known that he must have put in a great deal of effort.

But only after seeing it with their own eyes did they understand why even the all-capable Senior Liao had needed so much time.

At first glance, it seemed that all he had added was a medicinal herb garden, a valley, and a few buildings.

But on closer inspection, they realized that they were standing on a flat path!

Looking down at the winding walkway, paved neatly with translucent white jade bricks, everyone could not help but marvel at Senior Liao’s patience.

They followed the path deeper inside. As far as the eye could see, flowers bloomed everywhere.

There was still an immense sea of flowers surrounding them, but it was different from before. Now, they seemed to be completely enclosed by the blossoms.

Previously, the flower sea had a visible edge. Now, however, it seemed endless, stretching all the way to the horizon.

Only after looking carefully did everyone realize why: even the sides of the small world at its outer edges had been densely planted with flowers, forming a ring of flower walls around the entire place.

Surrounded by blossoms, they felt as if they had fallen into a world of flowers—a dreamlike wonderland.

What was more, the flowers, supposedly so delicate and difficult to care for, were all blooming vibrantly. It was obvious how much care their gardener had lavished on them.

The white jade path disappeared into the flower sea. Had they not been walking along it, they would never have guessed that several paths intersected among the blossoms.

Beside the crescent-shaped lake at the center stood a crystal house.

The entire house had been built from flawless, crystal-clear material. Not a single seam could be seen. Under the sunlight, it sparkled brilliantly.

When they drew closer, everyone could see straight through the crystal walls. Inside grew medicinal herbs they did not recognize at all, though most of the plants were still flowers.

The crystal house contained fewer varieties and a smaller number of flowers than the flower sea outside.

It appeared to have been specially built for cultivating the rarest medicinal herbs.

Lin Xiao guessed that the few herbs growing among the flowers were probably the most valuable medicinal plants Senior Liao currently possessed.

As for the flowers transplanted into the crystal house, they were likely the most precious blossoms in the entire flower sea.

On the opposite side of the crescent lake stood a massive trellis entwined with flowering vines.

The flowers were pale purple and looked much like wisteria. Strings of light-purple blossoms hung down between the green leaves, swaying gently in the breeze. The sight was breathtaking.

Several relatively precious fruit trees from the sect had also been transplanted around the trellis.

Liao Pantu had obtained all of them from the Spirit Field Elder during this period.

Every tree was now laden with fruit.

Perhaps because they had been nourished by the unusual soil of the small world, the fruits looked even plumper and more vigorous than those cultivated by the experts in the sect’s spirit fields.

Each one appeared juicy and fresh. Though no one had tasted them yet, merely looking at them was enough to imagine how full of juice they would be when bitten into.

Liao Pantu, who had been leading the way, reached the area beneath the trellis and waved at the mesmerized group.

Only then did everyone notice that the ground beneath the trellis had been covered with thick green grass. Dozens of wicker chairs and several low tables had been arranged across it.

Each low table was surrounded by several wicker chairs.

Fruit platters had already been placed on the tables, clearly prepared by Liao Pantu for everyone.

Understanding his intentions, they walked over and took their seats at his invitation.

Liao Pantu produced a pile of teacups from somewhere and used telekinesis to place them one by one before each person.

He then brought out a pot of tea. With a wave of his hand, streams of tea emerged from the pot, splitting into countless thin rivulets that flew toward the cups in front of everyone.

They continued until every cup was filled.

Everyone was astonished.

Who would have thought that telekinesis could be used like this—to control flowing water?

For a time, the people of the Lingxiao Sect, especially the Spirit Field Elder and several of his subordinates, began drinking their tea while mentally planning to study the art of manipulating water themselves later.

Seated beside the lake beneath the flower trellis, surrounded on all sides by brilliant blossoms and sipping fragrant tea, everyone felt completely at ease.

Tuantuan, who had originally been perched on Sun Yigao’s shoulder, leaped to the ground. After stretching and rolling around on the lush grass, it settled down beside Sun Yigao’s feet and closed its eyes contentedly.

Jiang Youfu picked up one of the large fruits from the platter and began gnawing on it. As he ate, he asked Liao Pantu, “Senior Liao, I’m thinking of moving my kitchen in here too. What do you think?”

Liao Pantu immediately turned his head away and snorted. “I don’t think much of it! It took me an enormous amount of effort to arrange all this. What do you want to bring your cooking in here for? Stay outside.”

Jiang Youfu was not the only one tempted by the place. Everyone else was equally smitten.

Lin Xiao included.

After all, who would not want to stay somewhere so beautiful and comfortable?

He was not in a hurry, though.

This was only Yaoguang Floating Island. Based on his deductions, other floating islands would surely form later on.

And there was no telling whether each floating island would come with an attached small world like Yaoguang Floating Island.

If his theory proved correct, would they really have to worry about not having more small worlds for everyone to use in the future?

Liao Pantu sat among the group, took a sip of tea, and continued, “It’s not that I’m unwilling to let everyone move other buildings in here. The problem is that there simply isn’t much space. Don’t be fooled by how many flowers I’ve moved around. I only had to clear that space so everyone would have a path to walk on. Even making room for this much has already taken a great deal of effort.”

Everyone often chatted during meals and shared details of their daily lives, and Liao Pantu would also talk about the flowers and plants in the small world.

Thus, they all knew how precious and difficult to care for these flowers were.

Hearing this, everyone nodded in agreement.

Liao Pantu continued, “Although you can’t move other buildings in, you’re welcome to come here whenever you want. Don’t be shy. I built this path and this flower pavilion for all of you.”

And so, the people of the Lingxian Sect gained a new place to relax and enjoy themselves in their spare time.
