Shen Nian wasn't picky when it came to food. Potato chips were delicious, and so were Xia Yanchun's fingers.
He didn't just eat the chip; he seized her wrist and sucked the tomato seasoning right off her fingertips.
Xia Yanchun gasped softly. A blush spread across her face, reaching her ears and neck. Speechless, she could only curl her fingers in frustration.
"You pervert..." Only after Shen Nian released her hand did she wipe it with a tissue, whispering the accusation.
"I didn't know. I saw a snack flying at me, so I opened my mouth. I thought it was some invisible female secret agent feeding me."
"You're just talking nonsense, aren't you? For that, your punishment is treating my dad and me to a big meal tomorrow."
"Don't do that. I'm out of allowance."
"Where did it go? Did you spend it on games again? I'm going to tell your dad so he beats your ass."
"We're not close. I'm not telling you."
"!"
Xia Yanchun immediately puffed up in anger, ramming her forehead against his arm, her face flushed pink.
Shen Nian took the opportunity to ruffle her hair. This Chun-kitty really had double standards. She was always rapping about how they "weren't close," but the moment someone else said it, she'd start head-butting and rubbing against them like this.
It actually felt pretty comfortable.
"So where did your allowance go? It doesn't feel like you've spent much money." Xia Yanchun rubbed against him for a good while, only stopping when her bangs were messy.
"I actually haven't spent much. I was just teasing you."
"Stinky little brother, you're asking for a beating!"
"Care for a samurai duel?"
"I can't be bothered with you." Xia Yanchun sat up straight, ate another chip, and said with disdain, "Your saliva stinks..."
"Who told you to shove it in my mouth?"
"I did not!" Xia Yanchun retorted indignantly. "It was clearly you holding onto me and not letting me pull back. You're really good at twisting the truth!"
"I learned it from you. Now you know how uncomfortable it is? I didn't see you acting like this when we were kids."
Thinking of the mess from their childhood, Xia Yanchun felt in the wrong. Looking back now, even she felt that some of the things she did were excessive.
"A hero doesn't brag about past glories, you know!" Xia Yanchun quickly stuffed a chip into his mouth to shut him up.
And so, her fingertips were sucked into Shen Nian's mouth again. They came out wet and sticky. So gross. Disgusting.
Since she didn't want to hear it, Shen Nian stopped talking. He opened a small bun for himself to eat.
Xia Yanchun was very immature when she was little and always bullied him. By the time he wanted to bully her back, she had grown into a graceful young lady. He couldn't hit her, couldn't touch her. Aside from getting the upper hand verbally, he couldn't do anything to her.
Back then, he felt his life was so bitter.
Now...
Damn it, the more he thought about it, the more he felt like a masochist.
Shen Nian didn't dare think about it anymore.
Better to just look at the sweet Chunbao.
"Here, the last one." Xia Yanchun handed him another chip.
"?"
This time, Shen Nian didn't suck her finger. He behaved himself.
Xia Yanchun looked at the seasoning coating her finger, sucked it clean in her own mouth, and then wiped her saliva on Shen Nian's clothes.
"??"
This Chun-kitty really had a wild streak. She needed to be controlled.
One bag of chips wasn't enough to fill them up, so Xia Yanchun opened a bag of "cat ear" crackers.
Cat ears were also a fried snack, but they were coated in sugar granules. They were fragrant and sweet, a completely different flavor from the chips.
Imitating Shen Nian, Xia Yanchun bared her teeth in a playful violation of etiquette and grabbed a cat ear, trying to shove it between his lips.
It seemed she was addicted to feeding him.
Shen Nian crunched down on the snack while one of his hands reached under the desk and boldly rested on Xia Yanchun's leg.
Xia Yanchun's small frame trembled. Seeing that he was just resting his hand there and not rubbing, she didn't feel like acknowledging him.
She didn't handle the cold well and usually wore thermal leggings underneath. Her outer pants were quite thick, so Shen Nian couldn't really feel much of anything anyway.
"Want more?"
"You eat. I already ate lunch before coming up."
"Then since I fed you so much, what should you call me?"
"Oh, so that's where you were going with this?"
Xia Yanchun pretended not to hear, eating while waiting for him to speak.
If she heard him call her "Big Sister," she would sleep very, very soundly all afternoon.
If she heard "Sister Chun," she would also sleep very, very soundly.
Even a casual "Sis" would make her nap comfortable.
She had looked after him since they were little, and even now that he was so big, she was still feeding him. If that didn't earn her a sweet nickname, that would be too unfair!
"You eat my food, feed me my own food, and then try to negotiate terms? You really don't take a loss on anything, do you?"
"Aren't you touching me..." Xia Yanchun poked the big hand on her thigh with her pinky finger.
Shen Nian squeezed her pants. The two layers were as thick as half his finger. He wasn't feeling anything but fabric. It was enough to make him sweat drop.
"Not saying it."
"Hmph, remember those words." Xia Yanchun immediately threw Shen Nian's hand off. If he wasn't going to say it, he should have said so earlier. If she'd known he wouldn't say it, she wouldn't have let him put his hand on her leg.
Even with two pairs of pants, that spot was sensitive!
Shen Nian couldn't be bothered to argue. He took the liberty of pulling the small pink pillow out of Xia Yanchun's desk drawer and flopped onto it. "I'm going to sleep in a bit. You're not allowed to sleep."
"Hey!"
Shen Nian lay there, ignoring everything. He turned his face away. Even though Xia Yanchun pulled him, shook him, and tugged his hair, he didn't make a sound, shamelessly occupying the little pillow she used every day.
He hadn't seen Xia Yanchun take the pillow home to wash, yet it smelled really good. He could tell Xia Yanchun didn't drool in her sleep, otherwise it would definitely stink.
Xia Yanchun couldn't do anything about him. After eating two small buns and seeing him still lying in the same position, she didn't know what to say.
"You'd better not drool, you hear? If you get saliva on it, I'm throwing it out and you're buying me a new one."
"Is that necessary? So disdainful..."
"Yes, I am. Just thinking about it is gross!"
Shen Nian finally turned his head, blinked, and smiled cheekily. "When you were sucking your fingers earlier, I didn't see you wash your hands."
"I just forgot." Xia Yanchun used a book as a makeshift pillow with feigned nonchalance. However, the pink tips of her ears betrayed that she was anything but nonchalant.
The once overpowering Chunbao was gone forever.
"Good afternoon, Chunbao." Shen Nian closed his eyes, intending to actually take a nap.
"Mhm."
Xia Yanchun nodded and straightened her clothes. Suddenly, she glanced at Shen Nian's trousers. Her hand landed on his thigh with a *smack*, and she felt the fabric carefully.
It was freezing out, yet his pants were so thin. The legs weren't even long enough; a bit of his ankle was showing.
Just as she was about to scold him, Shen Nian covered her hand as if reacting to a threat, stopping her from touching further. "What are you doing? Keep your hands to yourself."
"Your pants are so thin. Aren't you cold?"
"No."
Shen Nian safely moved the girl's soft, cool hand back onto her own leg. He shoved both his hands into his pockets, fidgeting around to loosen his jacket.
It was obvious he was hiding something.
Xia Yanchun laid her head down too, blinking her big eyes, the corners slightly flushed. "You..."
"What? Go to sleep." Shen Nian's expression looked a bit precarious.
"Hehe." Xia Yanchun's eyes curved into crescents. She clenched her small fist in the space between them.
Then, she slowly raised her index finger.
Shen Nian: "..."
I mean, come on, couldn't you just pretend you didn't see it? Even if you couldn't turn a blind eye, couldn't you just laugh it off and move on?
Did you really have to use your hands to make it so vivid?
Is this the 'Try Not to Die of Embarrassment' challenge? Because I definitely lost.
