Haki Chun Knows Everything

Shen Nian made a quick getaway. Luckily, Shen Yue went to bed early, otherwise he would have had to wait a bit longer before coming home.

The heater in Xia Yanchun's room made him feel stuffy and uncomfortable. It was only early winter, and the wind outside wasn't even strong. Why turn on the heater? Is that how all girls are?

For him, as long as he wasn't freezing into an icicle, there was no need to turn on the heater.

Shen Nian planned to get to bed early.

He had just lain down for a little while when his phone vibrated. Shen Nian glanced at the notification and immediately opened it.

[Xia Yanchun]: (Deer, water pipe, alarm clock.jpg)

Damn it, it's over!

It seems Haruki Chun knows everything.

Shen Nian was so scared he nearly cried. In his sorrow, he sent over thirty stickers, the QQ-exclusive "Duel" counter piling up to 36.

Until a red exclamation mark appeared on the latest one.

Haha, blocked. That's just great.

The next day, Saturday.

As usual, Shen Nian got up early. He pulled open the curtains; the sky wasn't light yet, and it was foggy outside.

The first fog of the winter, brimming with wintry atmosphere.

Too lazy to go out, Shen Nian completed his daily exercise routine at home.

The park was good for running or using the public fitness equipment to stretch, but at home, Shen Nian usually did push-ups combined with sit-ups.

He didn't keep an exact count of how many he did, stopping when he felt it was about enough. After exercising for about an hour, just from this aspect alone, his physical fitness was definitely no less than that of soldiers undergoing rigorous training in the army.

Since he didn't go out, Shen Nian couldn't be bothered to buy breakfast. After showering, he went out as usual to wait for Xia Yanchun. As soon as he opened the door, he found Xia Yanchun already leaning against the wall by his door, holding her small backpack, waiting for him.

The familiar little ponytail. Considering she had to be the student representative, Xia Yanchun wore her full school uniform today, layered with warm clothes underneath, looking very proper.

"You're this early today?" Shen Nian scratched his cheek, somewhat surprised.

"Sometimes I wake up before the alarm." Xia Yanchun pulled a carton of plain milk from her pocket. "For you to drink. You're welcome."

"Whoa, I'm moved to tears."

"Exaggerated..."

"I didn't bring you breakfast, by the way."

"Didn't you go exercise today?"

"Did it at home."

"Oh, okay."

Shen Nian didn't usually drink plain milk much; it was tasteless. He really liked that high-calcium sweet milk, though.

But Xia Yanchun loved drinking it. Back in middle school during their growth spurts, probably thinking about getting taller, she brought a carton every morning, always paired with a small bottle of mouthwash, otherwise her mouth would smell after drinking plain milk.

She drank so much but didn't seem to grow much taller, stuck at 160 cm. Meanwhile, Shen Nian, eating whatever was available, grew to 180 cm. There was no physical exam in senior year of high school, so he didn't know if he was still growing.

Shen Nian was quite satisfied with his current height. 180 cm was already considered a perfect height in girls' eyes. Those over 190 cm were probably better suited for basketball, and Shen Nian basically didn't play basketball, so there was no need to pursue that height.

When they reached the residential complex, Shen Nian thought about yesterday's blocking incident and nudged Xia Yanchun with his elbow. "Hurry up and take me out of the blacklist."

"Nope. We're done."

"Is this milk our farewell meal?"

"Mhm."

Shen Nian gulped the milk down in one go. Seeing no one around, he, like a sports student, performed a fadeaway jump shot. The plastic carton bounced off the edge of a distant trash can and went in.

Bullseye.

Triggering the fundamental male programming.

"Whoa, awesome!" Shen Nian instantly puffed up with pride.

Xia Yanchun didn't understand what was so exciting about that. She gave a half-hearted smile, took out her phone, and removed Shen Nian from the blacklist.

Then she sent a message to her mom: there's fog in the city, drive carefully.

Suddenly, Shen Nian nudged her with his elbow again.

"By the way, what was the meaning of that picture you sent yesterday?"

"What do you mean, 'what meaning'? The literal meaning."

"I said I quit."

"Didn't you relapse last night?" Xia Yanchun tilted her head, her eyes curving with a hint of teasing. The mischievous girl had appeared.

When she saw Shen Nian leave last night, he looked utterly flustered.

Shen Nian squinted one eye. Damn, Haruki Chun really does know everything.

Crap, a type of plant. Just where did things go wrong?

But he really hadn't relapsed. He was very disciplined.

"Really didn't." Shen Nian's tone was unnatural.

He felt a bit embarrassed. What decent person discusses this sort of thing first thing in the morning... and so seriously? Someone unaware might think it was some commonplace trivial matter.

"Oh."

"You better believe it, dammit."

"I never said I didn't believe you..."

"Haruki Chun, you're really something else, leaving this pure-hearted high school boy speechless."

Xia Yanchun blinked. What 'pure-hearted high school boy'? She was a pure-hearted high school girl herself.

Breakfast today was on Xia Yanchun. Having exercised on an empty stomach for an hour, Shen Nian was so hungry he felt dizzy. He directly bought three BBQ pork buns plus a bag of steamed dumplings and two bottles of yogurt drink. One breakfast cost sixteen bucks.

Sister Chun was shelling out the coins.

"Eating so much. Pig."

Xia Yanchun herself only bought two vermicelli buns, enough for her. What she was dissatisfied with was that Shen Nian, having just finished her milk, bought two more yogurt drinks, drinking so many sugary drinks every day.

So she took one of Shen Nian's and started sipping it slowly. If Shen Nian hadn't drunk his so fast, she might have even taken the half-finished one from him.

The school gate already had a large banner saying [Welcome Parents] erected. As one of the top high schools in the province, Ci'nan No. 2 High School took events like parent-teacher conferences very seriously.

Things like cultural galas, sports meets, and award ceremonies were all very formal. The campus environment was good, the teachers were excellent. Apart from the ridiculously overpriced school store, Shen Nian couldn't find too many faults.

But just the fact that a 450ml bottle of cola sold for four and a half yuan was enough for Shen Nian to label this school as trash.

Heard the neighboring No. 1 High School only charged four yuan. No. 2 High was always a step below No. 1.

The school store owner's room door cracked open a slit, and the world was instantly plunged into an ice age by the owner's air conditioner.

The classroom already had quite a few people. There was no requirement to wear uniforms. Lin Xiyuan had changed into a pretty long dress, a proper little beauty. Even Li Shiyan was dressed in withered-leaf-colored attire, which might look a bit rustic at first glance, but somewhat cute on the second look.

In contrast, Shen Nian and Xia Yanchun's matching blue-and-white school uniforms seemed a bit out of place.

"Tsk tsk." Xia Yanchun clicked her tongue. The yogurt drink wasn't quenching her thirst, so she sipped from the straw of her water bottle, gulping it down.

The water bottle was only so big, not enough. Xia Yanchun glanced back; the hot water had been taken by someone, and it was still boiling.

Looking sideways, she noticed Shen Nian was watching her. Xia Yanchun frowned. "What are you staring at? I didn't call you."

"Give it here." Shen Nian reached out his hand. "Not happy about getting free water-fetching service?"

"You're the one who wants to help me fetch water. Don't blame me for it later." Xia Yanchun humphed.

Shen Nian gave an OK sign.

After all, he just slept over yesterday. Fetching some hot water, helping is helping. Hopefully, Chun Bao will help him fetch some next time.
