Overestimating One's Capabilities

The members of the Black Right Gang were still beating Luo Fenhao.

"Still not talking, huh? You’ve got some nerve. If you won’t talk, we’ll just keep beating you until you do."

They continued pummeling Luo Fenhao.

Luo Fenhao cursed inwardly.

Idiots!

A bunch of damn idiots!

How could they not realize something was off after all this time?

His body was clearly much more muscular than that guy’s, yet they still thought he was that pretty-faced weakling.

Nearly everyone in the Black Right Gang had surrounded Luo Fenhao.

Only the man who had been punched in the eye and lower abdomen by Lin Xuan stood to the side, still clutching his groin in agony, his face twisted in pain.

Damn it.

That bastard from the Golden Dragon Gang was disgusting—hitting a man where it hurt most.

No, maybe it wasn’t the Golden Dragon Gang guy. Maybe someone in the Black Right Gang had a grudge against him and took this chance for revenge!

Lin Xuan checked the time.

It was about time.

The effects of the drug he’d fed Luo Fenhao were wearing off.

Lin Xuan snapped his fingers.

The Golden Dragon Gang members controlling the base’s lighting flipped the switches, and the entire facility lit up.

The men beating Luo Fenhao suddenly felt something was wrong.

Wait.

He could’ve sworn the Golden Dragon Gang guy wasn’t wearing these clothes. There was no way he could’ve changed outfits so quickly.

These clothes… looked more like their boss’s.

Just as the thought crossed his mind, the effects of the mute drug wore off, and Luo Fenhao’s muffled groans turned into clear speech.

"Stop! Stop right now, you idiots!" he roared.

His subordinates, still not fully processing the situation, kept hitting him.

Until one of them finally snapped out of it.

"Everyone, stop!"

The others halted, confused. "What’s wrong?"

"That… might be our boss," Li Hao said, pointing at Luo Fenhao.

"Not ‘might’—it is me, your boss!" Luo Fenhao growled through clenched teeth as he lifted his head.

Never in his wildest dreams had he imagined being beaten to a pulp by his own men.

The subordinates recoiled in shock, their faces pale with disbelief.

What the hell?

They were sure they’d been beating up the Golden Dragon Gang guy. How did it turn out to be their boss?

"Boss… how is it you?" one subordinate stammered nervously. "You weren’t saying anything, so we thought you were that guy from the Golden Dragon Gang."

"I was drugged! How the hell was I supposed to talk?" Luo Fenhao spat.

Then he glared at Lin Xuan, who was watching the scene with amusement.

It was all because of him!

If not for this bastard, he wouldn’t have been beaten half to death by his own men!

He was going to make him pay.

"Get him!" Luo Fenhao pointed at Lin Xuan, his voice dripping with venom. "Capture him!"

He was going to torture him slowly.

Lin Xuan calmly adjusted his sleeves and said, "Come on, then."

Honestly, it had been a while since he’d had a good fight.

With so many Black Right Gang members here, he could finally stretch his limbs.

"Just you?" Luo Fenhao frowned.

"That’s right," Lin Xuan nodded. "Bring it on."

Luo Fenhao let out a derisive laugh. "Kid, don’t get cocky."

"You think you can take on twenty of us alone? That’s a joke."

This guy looked weak—no muscle to speak of. Even if he had some skills, he couldn’t be that good.

Lin Xuan raised an eyebrow. "Keep wasting time, and the Golden Dragon Gang might show up."

"The Golden Dragon Gang?" Luo Fenhao sneered. "My men are already lying in wait. If they dare come, we’ll make sure they never leave!"

He was brimming with confidence.

Lin Xuan smirked. "Boss Luo, if your men are really surrounding this place… how did I get in?"

Luo Fenhao’s expression darkened.

Good question. How did he get here?

"Boss…" one of the Black Right Gang members said nervously, "You don’t think our guys outside were already taken out by the Golden Dragon Gang, do you?"

"Impossible! If our gang had clashed with them, there’d be gunfire. Did any of you hear gunshots?"

"No, nothing," the subordinates shook their heads.

"Then how did he get here?" another asked.

"My guess? He was already here guarding the weapons and decided to put on this little act," Luo Fenhao said smugly.

"That makes sense."

The subordinates thought about it and agreed.

"Boss, you’re so sharp," one of them said admiringly.

"Of course," Luo Fenhao preened. "Learn from me."

He winced as the movement tugged at the cuts on his face.

Lin Xuan didn’t bother explaining further. He scoffed. "Enough talk. If you’re coming for me, do it now. I don’t have time to waste."

He still had to video call Hua later.

"Fine. Since you’re so eager for a beating, I’ll oblige." Luo Fenhao’s voice was icy. "Men, grab him."

"All of you, come at once," Lin Xuan said flatly.

"All at once?" Luo Fenhao snorted. "No need to use a cannon to kill a mosquito. Two men are enough to handle you."

Lin Xuan shook his head. No point arguing.

They’d all rush him soon enough.

Two Black Right Gang members stepped forward.

A cold glint flashed in Lin Xuan’s eyes.

As they approached, he leaped into the air, spun, and swept their legs out from under them with a single kick.

The entire gang stared in shock.

He took them down that easily?

Under the stunned gazes of everyone present, Lin Xuan grabbed their collars and effortlessly lifted them off the ground—one in each hand—before tossing them aside like ragdolls.

"Holy—how is he this strong? A 160-pound man, and he just lifted him with one hand?"

This was insane.

"Yeah! And he didn’t even look like he was straining!"

"What kind of monster is this?"

No wonder the Golden Dragon Gang was the second most powerful. Even their random members were terrifying.

Luo Fenhao scoffed. "It’s just brute strength. Nothing special."

"Jiang Yixing, Li Tian—you’re up," he ordered.

These two were among the most skilled fighters in the Black Right Gang. They relied on technique rather than raw power.

They’d have no trouble dealing with this punk.

Heh.

Daring to oppose him? What a joke.
