The Third Wheel Is Here Again

Huo Shen's eyes darkened when he spotted Jiang Qing's figure.

Why was this third wheel here again?

"President Huo, what a coincidence to see you here," Jiang Qing greeted him with a bright smile.

"Hmm." Huo Shen took a deep breath.

Once he drove Lin Xuan away from Hua’s side and married her, becoming the male lead of Su Corporation, the first person he’d fire would definitely be Jiang Qing!

Jiang Qing acted respectful on the surface, but every time he wanted to spend time alone with Hua, she’d show up like an unwanted spotlight.

This couldn’t be a coincidence every time—Jiang Qing must have been bribed by Lin Xuan. Lin Xuan was clearly trying to prevent him from being alone with Hua, afraid that he’d steal her away.

But did Lin Xuan really think these underhanded tricks would keep Hua by his side forever? What a joke.

"Yes, quite the coincidence," Huo Shen forced out through gritted teeth.

"Secretary Jiang, if you have business to discuss, you can report to Boss Su first. I don’t mind waiting," Huo Shen said with forced politeness.

"No, no, first come, first served. Besides, President Huo, I’m just a secretary. It wouldn’t be right to make a manager wait," Jiang Qing replied respectfully.

Trying to shoo her away so he could be alone with Boss Su? Not a chance.

"You—" Huo Shen nearly lost his temper.

Su Hua’s indifferent gaze settled on him. "If it’s work-related, report first."

"Yes, Boss Su." Huo Shen had no choice but to comply.

He began his work report while Jiang Qing stood quietly nearby.

Huo Shen occasionally shot her a dark glare, but Jiang Qing simply looked up at the ceiling.

Don’t look at me—I’m just here for work.

Fifteen minutes later, Su Hua closed the file in her hands and said coolly, "That’s enough, President Huo. You may leave now."

Huo Shen hesitated before speaking again. "Boss Su, Old Master Su mentioned he misses you. Would you like to visit the family estate? He’s prepared quite a feast today."

"No need. I’ll be spending time with Xuan," Su Hua replied flatly.

The Golden Dragon Gang matter was complicated, and she wasn’t sure how long it would take Xuan to resolve it. They likely wouldn’t see each other for days after tonight, so she wanted to make the most of their time together.

The thought of what was to come tonight made Su Hua’s red lips curl into a faint smile.

If Old Master Su knew what she was thinking, he’d be furious.

It had been half a month since he last saw his beloved granddaughter, yet she hadn’t spared him a thought.

But after just a few days apart from Lin Xuan, she was already planning to indulge in some… quality time before he left.

"President Huo, I’ll leave it to you to keep my grandfather company," Su Hua said.

If someone was entertaining Old Master Su, he wouldn’t come and steal her Xuan away.

Huo Shen took a deep breath and nodded. "Of course. I’ll visit Old Master Su tonight. After my parents passed, he took me in. I’ve always considered him family. Now that he’s getting older, I’ll take good care of him to repay his kindness."

Jiang Qing raised an eyebrow.

So Huo Shen was trying to play the sentimental card with the former chairman.

But his hopes were in vain.

Boss Su’s heart belonged solely to Young Master Lin. Old Master Su was, at best, a familiar figure to her.

"Boss Su, I’ll take my leave," Huo Shen said, turning to exit.

Su Hua then glanced at Jiang Qing. "You may leave as well."

"Understood, Boss Su."

Jiang Qing and Huo Shen stepped out of the CEO’s office together.

"Safe travels, President Huo," Jiang Qing said cheerfully at the door.

Huo Shen paused.

"Secretary Jiang," he said coldly.

"Is there something else, President Huo?" Jiang Qing asked with the same polite smile, betraying nothing.

Huo Shen’s voice was icy. "Every time I come to see Hua, you’re here. That’s no coincidence."

Jiang Qing smiled faintly. "President Huo, you should refer to her as Boss Su, not Hua. If she heard you, she might punish you."

Huo Shen clenched his fists.

Jiang Qing continued, amused, "You’re right, though. It’s no coincidence that I’m always present when you visit Boss Su."

Huo Shen’s gaze turned even colder. "Jiang Qing, I know what you’re doing. Lin Xuan must have bribed you to keep an eye on me!"

Jiang Qing scoffed and shook her head.

Young Master Lin didn’t even see Huo Shen as a threat—why would he resort to such tactics?

Huo Shen was seriously overestimating himself.

"Secretary Jiang," Huo Shen said darkly, "as Boss Su’s secretary, your loyalty should lie with her. If she finds out you’re helping an outsider, do you think she’ll let it slide?"

"You’re mistaken, President Huo," Jiang Qing chuckled. "Young Master Lin will one day become Boss Su’s husband. He’s no outsider."

She saw things clearly—Young Master Lin was Boss Su’s everything. If he wanted Su Corporation, she’d hand it over without hesitation.

Pleasing Young Master Lin and following his orders was always the right move.

"Secretary Jiang, isn’t it premature to treat Lin Xuan as your master? Boss Su and he are just dating. Even married couples divorce—breaking up is perfectly normal."

Jiang Qing arched a brow. "Then you’re in for disappointment, President Huo. Boss Su and Young Master Lin will never part."

Huo Shen sneered. "Don’t be so sure, Secretary Jiang."

Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

And what couple stays infatuated forever without growing tired of each other?

Jiang Qing smirked. "Then let’s wait and see, President Huo."

"Also, I should clarify who instructed me to stay by Boss Su’s side whenever you visit—to ensure you’re never alone with her."

Huo Shen frowned deeply.

Was Jiang Qing implying it wasn’t Lin Xuan’s doing?

But if not him, who else would have a reason?

Jiang Qing answered plainly, "It was Boss Su’s order."

"Impossible!" Huo Shen instantly denied it.

Hua would never do that!

Jiang Qing explained, "Boss Su didn’t want Young Master Lin to misunderstand or overthink things, so she specifically told me to stay with her whenever you came to report."

"No! You’re lying—covering for Lin Xuan!" Huo Shen reacted violently.

Hua wouldn’t do this. She couldn’t!
