Lin Xuan Appeared

"Achoo, achoo!"

A menacing-looking man crouched outside Su Corporation sneezed several times. He rubbed his arms and muttered, "Old Wang, why do I suddenly feel a chill, like we're being watched?"

"Have you forgotten what we do for a living?" Old Wang shot him a sidelong glance. "We handle killings and all sorts of illegal jobs. Even ghosts fear us. So what if someone's watching?"

"Look at you, so timid," Old Wang scoffed.

Hearing this, Old Liu’s tense heart eased slightly. Maybe he was overthinking it.

Old Wang was right—they were always the ones who bullied others. Who would dare mess with them?

"Old Wang, do you think we’ll actually catch Lin Xuan today?" Old Liu asked.

Old Wang shook his head. "No idea. We’ve been staking out this place for days, and that brat hasn’t shown up once. What kind of boss doesn’t even come to his own company?"

He gritted his teeth. If Lin Xuan had just visited the office a few more times, they wouldn’t have had to suffer through this waiting game.

He’d thought this job would be a breeze.

But so far, they hadn’t even caught a glimpse of Lin Xuan!

How were they supposed to kidnap and rough him up if he never appeared?

"Old Wang, what did the boss say? Has he found out where Lin Xuan lives yet?" Old Liu pressed.

"No," Old Wang shook his head again.

"Dammit, looks like we wasted our time these past few days. Feels like this mission is impossible," Old Liu growled, roughly tugging at his messy hair.

If they failed, that five million yuan would slip through their fingers.

Their gang was broke. That money would’ve solved their urgent needs.

"Sigh, let’s just keep waiting," Old Wang sighed.

At 4:30 p.m., Su Hua returned home from work.

Lin Xuan was surprised. "Hua Bao, you’re back so early today?"

Su Hua wrapped her arms around Lin Xuan’s waist and looked up at him. "Of course, I missed you, so I left early."

"Ah Xuan, my period ended today."

Her words dripped with implication.

Lin Xuan’s heart instantly tightened.

During her period, Su Hua hadn’t been able to engage in certain activities with him. But several times, she’d deliberately teased him to the point of no return.

She’d gotten worked up too.

She’d helped him relieve his tension in other ways, but she’d been holding back all this time.

After restraining herself for so long, today’s Su Hua would be insatiable—he wasn’t sure he could handle it.

No way.

He had to get out of Night Garden immediately.

If he stayed, she’d lure him to bed in no time.

Once there, he wouldn’t be able to escape, and his carefully laid plans for the day would be ruined.

"Hua Bao, I was just about to head out. There’s an emergency at the company—I need to go. We’ll talk about other things when I get back," Lin Xuan said evasively.

Su Hua saw right through his excuse.

Her Ah Xuan was a hands-off boss who barely did any work. He always used the company as an excuse to dodge her.

She’d read in a book that men shouldn’t be pushed too hard.

So, she nodded. "Alright, Ah Xuan, I’ll wait for you at home."

"But..."

She rose on her tiptoes, her crimson lips brushing against the corner of his mouth as she whispered seductively, "I need a goodbye kiss first."

Lin Xuan knew he wouldn’t leave Night Garden without indulging her.

"Fine."

He nodded, wrapping one arm around Su Hua’s slender waist while the other cupped the back of her head. He lowered his lips to hers, capturing them in a deep kiss.

Su Hua closed her eyes, savoring the heat of his mouth.

The servants in Night Garden tactfully turned away in unison.

The young miss and Master Lin were so affectionate.

Amusement flickered in the servants’ eyes.

Fifteen minutes later, Su Hua finally pulled away, a smirk playing on her lips.

"I’ll be waiting at home. Don’t be late," she murmured in his ear.

"Got it. I’ll come back as soon as I’m done," Lin Xuan promised before bolting from the villa like his life depended on it—as if afraid she’d change her mind.

Su Hua’s eyes sparkled with amusement.

Poor Ah Xuan, so easily frightened.

Truthfully, her period wouldn’t end until tomorrow. She’d just been teasing him.

Butler Wang, still eager for some drama, sprang into action the moment Lin Xuan left.

"Young Miss, I’m worried about Master Lin going alone. I’ll follow him," he declared.

"Go ahead," Su Hua replied calmly.

With her permission, Butler Wang strode out of the villa.

The servants exchanged puzzled glances.

Hadn’t Butler Wang been complaining about knee pain this afternoon?

That brisk walk didn’t look like someone in pain.

Lin Xuan hated lying to Su Hua, but he couldn’t exactly admit he was leaving to mess with someone.

He couldn’t risk tarnishing his image in her eyes.

At 5 p.m., Lin Xuan and Butler Wang arrived at the entrance of Skyline Corporation.

Old Liu pointed excitedly. "Old Wang, it’s Lin Xuan! He’s here!"

Old Wang followed his gaze and grinned.

Their wait hadn’t been in vain!

Lei Hui looked stunned. "Boss, what are you doing here?"

"Business," Lin Xuan replied.

Namely, giving Lin Li’s hired thugs a chance to "catch" him.

This bunch was even more incompetent than the Black Tiger Gang.

If he didn’t hand them an opportunity today, they’d never manage to nab him.

"Uncle Lei, you’re off work now, right?" Lin Xuan asked.

"No, no!" Lei Hui shook his head vigorously. "We still have half an hour left."

Lin Xuan blinked.

"Off at 5:30 p.m.?"

Lei Hui nodded. "Yep."

Lin Xuan: "..."

Miscalculation.

He’d assumed Lei Hui was about to leave, so he wouldn’t pester him.

Turns out, he’d come too early.

Lei Hui gave him a deadpan look. "Boss, is this how you run a company? You don’t even know your employees’ working hours?"

Lin Xuan rubbed his nose sheepishly.

Well… he really didn’t. He’d never paid attention.

Lei Hui sighed.

What kind of boss had he ended up with?

If only the boss focused on the company with his talents—it’d thrive!

Lei Hui dashed to his office and returned with a stack of documents, plopping them onto Lin Xuan’s desk with practiced ease.

"Boss, these all need your review."

Just one more day until the Dragon Boat Festival holiday.
