Cannot Have Children

"It's nothing," Lin Li shook his head.

He glanced at the time and said, "Grandpa Jiang, it's getting late. We should head back soon. The weather is hot, and staying out too long isn't good for your health."

"Alright."

Grandpa Jiang nodded.

He also needed to have a serious talk with his two granddaughters about their boyfriends.

Back at the Jiang residence, Jiang Manting and Jiang Yutong were sitting on the sofa in the living room.

"Good, you're both here. I have something to discuss with you," Grandpa Jiang said with a stern expression.

"What is it?" Jiang Yutong asked curiously, munching on an apple.

"I’m asking you both," Grandpa Jiang glared at the sisters, "Where are your boyfriends?"

Just then, a call came through on Jiang Manting's phone.

Her eyes lit up as she looked at her phone, as if it were a lifeline.

"Grandpa, I need to take this call."

Jiang Manting stood up with her phone. She stayed in the living room but positioned herself just out of Grandpa Jiang's earshot, though he could still hear her voice clearly.

"President Jiang," her secretary's voice came through the phone, "I’ve sent the documents you requested to your email."

"What?" Jiang Manting frowned. "There’s an urgent matter at the company that requires my immediate attention?"

Secretary: "???"

"Alright, wait for me. I’ll be there right away," Jiang Manting said urgently.

The secretary belatedly realized what was happening—President Jiang was probably being nagged about marriage by her grandfather again.

Jiang Manting hung up and turned back to Grandpa Jiang. "Grandpa, there’s an emergency at the company. I have to go."

Without waiting for his response, she hurriedly left.

Jiang Yutong: "..."

Sis, you’re leaving me alone to face Grandpa’s interrogation?

That’s just unfair!

Grandpa Jiang fixed his gaze on Jiang Yutong. She waited for a while, but no call came from her company.

Jiang Yutong could only pull out her phone herself.

The moment she picked it up, Grandpa Jiang’s voice drifted over, laced with skepticism, "Does your company also have an emergency?"

"No, no," Jiang Yutong chuckled awkwardly, shaking her head. "Grandpa, I was just checking something."

Reluctantly, she put her phone down.

"Look at the two of you," Grandpa Jiang launched into his usual lecture, his words flying fast. "You’re not getting any younger. When are you going to settle down?"

"Do you plan to wait until you’re almost forty to get married? By the time your kids are old enough to take over the company, you’ll be in your sixties!"

"Having children early means they can help share the burden sooner, and you can enjoy life earlier. Doesn’t that sound good?"

Jiang Yutong stayed silent.

She rubbed her ears.

Listening to Grandpa’s words, she felt like her ears were about to grow calluses.

Then, the image of Su Hua and Lin Xuan being affectionate at the hotel that day flashed through her mind.

She propped her chin on her hand.

Looking at it that way, relationships did seem kind of nice. Maybe she should give it a try. Plus, having a boyfriend would spare her from Grandpa’s nagging.

"Alright," Jiang Yutong nodded. "Grandpa, don’t worry. Within three weeks, I’ll bring a boyfriend home."

She had plenty of suitors anyway. She could just pick one she liked.

Grandpa Jiang had been mid-rant when her words cut him off.

"You’re going to find a boyfriend?" His voice was tinged with disbelief.

"Yes," Jiang Yutong confirmed firmly.

Grandpa Jiang looked astonished. "Before, no matter how much I nagged, you refused to even consider marriage. Why are you agreeing so easily this time?"

It almost felt like he didn’t recognize his own granddaughter.

This was unusual.

Extremely unusual.

This time, he’d only been venting his frustrations, not actually expecting them to listen.

Yet, Jiang Yutong had actually agreed.

Jiang Yutong sighed. "Because I’m tired of being fed dog food."

That day, the way Lin Xuan and his girlfriend had been all over each other had killed her appetite.

She didn’t want to be the one eating dog food anymore—she wanted to be the one dishing it out!

Over the next two days, Lin Xuan stayed at the night garden with Su Hua, never once mentioning leaving again.

Su Corporation had piled up several tasks that required Su Hua’s personal attention.

"Ah Xuan, wait here at home for me, okay?"

Su Hua sat on Lin Xuan’s lap, her arms wrapped around his neck. After a long kiss, she finally pulled away.

Being this clingy with Ah Xuan was really nice.

A thought crossed her mind.

Su Hua paused mid-step.

Maybe someday, when the time was right, having a child with Ah Xuan wouldn’t be so bad. She could raise them early and hand Su Corporation over to them.

Then, she’d have all the time in the world to stay glued to Ah Xuan.

But the next second, another image flashed in her mind—Lin Xuan holding their child, gently soothing them, only for the kid to stubbornly squeeze between them during their rest time, insisting on sleeping with them.

Su Hua clenched her fists.

No.

Not yet.

No kids for now.

She had finally managed to capture Lin Xuan's undivided attention—how could she possibly let him divert even a fraction of his energy and affection toward a child?

No one could steal Lin Xuan away from her, not even her own flesh and blood!

Su Hua abandoned all thoughts of having a child.

Unless absolutely forced, she would never have one.

Su Hua got into the car, and the driver took her to Su Corporation.

"President Su."

As she walked through the company, numerous employees greeted her along the way.

Su Hua, with a visible bite mark on her neck, strode straight into the private executive elevator.

The employees watched her retreating figure, whispering among themselves.

"Where do you think President Su has been these past few days? She hasn’t come to the office at all."

"What else could it be? Probably spending time with her darling boyfriend," one employee said, stroking his chin with absolute certainty. "President Su used to be a workaholic—practically lived in the office. But ever since she got that boyfriend, she’s been skipping work often, leaving on time every day, and showing up late. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out who’s responsible."

The other employees nodded in agreement. "Young Master Lin’s charm is something else. Even President Su, who never showed interest in men before, fell for him."

"Listen up," the same employee added, "if you want a promotion or a raise, don’t you dare offend Young Master Lin. You’d be better off angering President Su than crossing him. Got it?"

"We know, we know," the others murmured in assent.

Night Garden.

Lin Xuan sat in front of his computer, twirling a pen in his hand as he pondered how to deal with the Shadow Organization.

Thanks for the gifts, ∞∞ and other sweethearts~

Good night!
