I Am Lin Li

During dinner, Lin Li kept scrolling through information about the Jiang family on his phone. The more he read about them, the more enticed he became.

No—even if Jiang Shuqin didn’t seek out the Jiang family, he, Lin Li, would find a way to latch onto them!

His mind began racing with schemes.

"Li'er, why aren’t you eating? What are you looking at?" Jiang Shuqin asked curiously.

Lin Li put his phone away. "It’s nothing, Mom. A friend had a computer issue and asked for my help. I was just checking the problem."

"I see." Jiang Shuqin nodded, accepting his explanation without suspicion.

"Mom, these are all your favorite dishes. Have some more." Lin Li picked up his chopsticks and served her portions of the food she loved.

Jiang Shuqin beamed with happiness.

Having Li'er by her side truly brought her joy. She was glad she had abandoned Lin Xuan and taken Lin Li in instead.

Otherwise, how could she enjoy such a harmonious mother-son relationship now?

The next morning, Lin Li dressed himself meticulously, adopting the refined appearance of a cultured young gentleman. Then, he prepared to leave.

"Li'er, where are you going?" Jiang Shuqin frowned from the living room sofa.

"Just heading back to campus for a bit," Lin Li replied evasively.

Jiang Shuqin nodded. "Alright, be careful. Come home early tonight—I’ll make something delicious for you."

"Sure." Lin Li agreed.

Lately, Lin Li had been the subject of gossip—accusations of being a eunuch and deceiving Feng Yaya into marriage. Worried about being pelted with eggs or vegetables again, he wore sunglasses and a mask when stepping out of the car.

He walked into Jiang Corporation.

"Sir, who are you here to see?" the receptionist inquired.

"I’m here to meet your General Manager, Jiang Manting," Lin Li answered.

"Do you have an appointment?"

"No."

The receptionist politely declined. "I’m sorry, sir, but General Manager Jiang is very busy. Without an appointment, I’m afraid you can’t see her."

Lin Li decided to assert his identity. "I’m the son of General Manager Jiang’s aunt."

The receptionist frowned.

The Jiang family only had one son—Jiang Manting’s father. Where did this "aunt" come from?

Assuming Lin Li was just another social climber, she smiled faintly. "Sir, could you remove your sunglasses and mask? It would help me verify your identity."

She wanted to see who dared impersonate a relative of the General Manager.

Honestly, he didn’t even bother checking if Jiang Manting had an aunt. How naïve.

Lin Li clenched his fists.

The scandal about him becoming a eunuch had spread far and wide. If he took off his disguise, she would recognize him instantly.

He couldn’t bear to face their mocking stares.

Seeing his hesitation, the receptionist grew even more convinced he was lying.

"Sir," she maintained a polite tone, "if you refuse to remove them, I must ask you to leave."

"Fine, I’ll take them off!"

Lin Li gritted his teeth.

He had to meet Jiang Manting today—he needed to secure the Jiang family’s influence as soon as possible!

He removed his mask and sunglasses, revealing his face.

The receptionist’s eyes widened in shock.

This was Lin Li!

The man who became a eunuch, lost his fertility, and deceived Feng Yaya into marriage!

He looked so dignified, yet his character was utterly despicable.

Another receptionist recognized him too, her gaze turning disdainful.

They whispered to each other, "Xiao Ting, isn’t that Lin Li?"

"Yeah. Claiming to be General Manager Jiang’s cousin? How shameless—trying to leech off Jiang Corporation now."

Their voices dripped with disgust.

Lin Li could feel their judgmental stares.

His fists tightened involuntarily.

"Miss," he forced himself to stay calm, "could you please inform her for me?"

The receptionist frowned.

How could General Manager Jiang possibly have a cousin like this?

Out of professionalism, she nodded. "Very well. Please wait—I’ll make a call."

Jiang Manting’s secretary answered the reception desk’s call. She recalled Jiang Manting mentioning her aunt once before, so she decided to report this.

She entered the General Manager’s office.

"Yes?" Jiang Manting asked without looking up from her documents.

"General Manager," the secretary said respectfully, "there’s a man downstairs claiming to be your aunt’s son."

Jiang Manting’s brow furrowed.

She had just approached Jiang Shuqin yesterday—now her supposed son was here?

Perhaps he really was Jiang Shuqin’s son.

"Take him to the meeting room. I’ll be there shortly," she instructed.

"Yes, General Manager."

Jiang Yutong, who was also in the office, spoke up. "Elder Sister, I’ll go with you."

She wanted to see what Jiang Shuqin’s son looked like.

"Alright." Jiang Manting agreed.

The secretary escorted Lin Li to the conference room.

Along the way, Lin Li noticed how even executives from Starlight Group—desperate to curry favor—treated Jiang Corporation’s staff with respect. His ambition burned brighter.

He had to succeed in attaching himself to the Jiang family.

Then, no one would dare look down on him. If another scandal like the wedding incident happened, he could control the fallout—unlike before, where he was utterly ruined.

Lin Li waited in the meeting room for about five minutes before Jiang Manting strode in, elegant in her tailored suit.

Beside her was the stylishly dressed Jiang Yutong.

"Hello, I’m Lin Li."

He stood and extended his hand.

"Hello, I’m Jiang Manting." She shook his hand.

"And you must be the Second Miss Jiang?" Lin Li offered his hand to Jiang Yutong.

Jiang Yutong ignored his gesture, her eyes fixed on him.

A few days ago, a close friend had gossiped about Lin Li—how he cheated before his engagement, became a eunuch, and then deceived Feng Yaya into marriage for her family’s wealth.

Her friend had even shown her Lin Li’s photo.

Was this really the kind of man her aunt’s son was?
