Squeeze the Lin Family Dry

"Mom," Lin Li said, "have you been doing well lately?"

Over a year in prison left Wang Yajun with no way to maintain her appearance, and she had to do heavy, rough labor every day.

It made her look significantly older.

"Mom is doing fine."

"But what about you, Li'er, my son?" Wang Yajun asked, choking back tears. "Have you been doing okay during this time? Has the Lin family mistreated you? And Lin Xuan, has he done anything to you?"

Lin Li smiled. "Mom, you don't need to worry. I'm doing quite well."

"Jiang Shuqin still treats me as her biological son, and the three sisters of the Lin family continue to spoil me just as before, treating me like their own little brother."

"That's good, that's good," Wang Yajun smiled with relief.

"Li'er, Mom's life after getting out of prison will depend entirely on you," Wang Yajun urged. "You must squeeze every last penny out of the Lin family."

Even though the Xinghui Group has gone bankrupt.

Xinghui Group developed for so many years; the Lin family's savings won't be a small amount.

Getting the Lin family's money will be a massive windfall.

"Mom, I will," Lin Li nodded. "I've started a pharmaceutical company now and hired a top talent. Soon, a specific drug for treating stomach cancer will hit the market."

"A specific drug for stomach cancer?" Wang Yajun's face was full of excitement. "How effective is it?"

Lin Li nodded. "I've run trials, and the efficacy is excellent."

"Good, good, good," Wang Yajun was so thrilled that tears welled up in her eyes. "My son is truly promising."

"Mom," Lin Li added, "in three days, on your birthday, Lin Chang will come to see you. When he does, you must make him feel guilty about me. I want him to invest all his money into my company."

If Lin Chang invested the money in him, then all that money would become his.

"Okay, I will," Wang Yajun nodded heavily.

A dark gleam flashed in her eyes.

The person she hated the most was Jiang Shuqin.

It was just that Jiang Shuqin was a fool. She was clearly a daughter of the Jiang family, wealthy and powerful, who could have any man she wanted. Yet, she insisted on cutting ties with the Jiang family to run off and be with a poor boy.

As for herself, she had broken up with Lin Chang because he had no money. Using the excuse that she didn't want to hold him back, she made Lin Chang feel guilty towards her, and then she turned around and married another capable and somewhat wealthy man.

She never expected that Lin Chang would eventually become so successful, turning into the boss of a large corporation and earning hundreds of millions a year.

She was unwilling to accept it; she couldn't accept that the good life which had been at her fingertips had just slipped away for nothing.

So she got involved with Lin Chang again.

Later, when her husband discovered her affair with Lin Chang, she ran him over with a car.

She originally intended to kill him, but only managed to put him into a vegetative state.

She then played along with the situation, scheming to have Jiang Shuqin adopt Li'er on one hand.

On the other hand, she portrayed herself in front of Jiang Shuqin as a deeply devoted wife who would never abandon her vegetative husband, while secretly having an affair with Lin Chang.

Her goal was to wait for Li'er to inherit the Lin family's business, and then she could completely rise to power as the mistress of the Lin family.

She didn't expect Lin Chang to be such a useless piece of trash, letting Lin Xuan drive the company into bankruptcy.

Wang Yajun was taken back to the prison cell.

Lin Li left the prison.

The prison guards had overheard the entire conversation between Wang Yajun and Lin Li.

They silently criticized them in their minds.

What a massive wealthy family drama this was.

If it weren't for the regulations, they really would have loved to share the story of Wang Yajun, Lin Li, and Lin Chang with others.

Lin Chang lay in the hospital for three days.

On the fourth day, he was discharged and went straight to the prison to visit Wang Yajun.

"Lin Chang, you are finally here," two drops of tears rolled down Wang Yajun's eyes. "I missed you so much."

"Jun'er, you have suffered," Lin Chang said, his heart aching.

Wang Yajun wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes and smiled, saying, "Lin Chang, being able to be with you for so many years has already made me very satisfied. This little bit of suffering I am enduring is nothing."

"Have you been doing okay on the outside lately?"

Lin Chang fell silent.

How could he be doing okay?

With the company bankrupt, he was pointed at and gossiped about wherever he went.

He spent every waking moment in regret. He deeply regretted treating Lin Xuan so poorly back then.

If he had been even just a little bit better to Lin Xuan, would all of this not have escalated to this point?

"I am doing great, Jun'er, you don't need to worry." Lin Chang forced a smile, not wanting Wang Yajun to worry.

"That's good," Wang Yajun felt relieved.

"It's just that I don't know how Li'er is doing now. I have never dared to tell him that I am his biological mother. I am afraid he would be ashamed of me."

"Before, I could at least compensate Li'er in the name of being his godmother. But now that I am in prison, I'm afraid I will miss out on several more years of his life. I am not a qualified mother."

Tears flowed from Wang Yajun's eyes once again.

Guilt towards Lin Li welled up in Lin Chang's heart.

It was all his fault for not being able to give Jun'er and Li'er a legitimate and open status.

Li'er was clearly his biological son, yet he was forced to live his life under the guise of an adopted child.

And Jun'er.

She was his true love, yet she was forced to be his secret, underground lover.

And he had actually spent this recent period feeling jealous of Li'er just because the boy had been doing quite well developing his medical company.

He was a monster.

"Lin Chang," Wang Yajun said, her eyes welling with tears. "I beg you, please treat Li'er well. Help me make up for my absence and give him my share of love too."

"Okay," Lin Chang nodded. "I promise you, I will be very, very good to Li'er."

"Mhm," Wang Yajun nodded heavily.

"Thank you, Lin Chang."

A relieved smile appeared on Wang Yajun's face.

The prison guard reminded them, "Visiting time is over. Time to go back."

"Okay."

Wang Yajun nodded. She gave Lin Chang one last deeply affectionate look. "Lin Chang, remember to wait for me."

She stood up.

The moment she turned her back to him, a flash of utter disgust appeared in her eyes.

When he was young, Lin Chang had been fairly good-looking.

Now, he was balding and had a massive beer belly.

He was repulsively fat.

If it were not for his money, who would ever be willing to serve him?

Once Li'er fully developed the company and she was released from prison, she would just enjoy a wonderful life with Li'er and completely ignore this Lin Chang.

Lin Li was waiting outside for Lin Chang.

Seeing Lin Chang come out, he immediately went up to greet him.

"Dad."

Lin Li asked, "Is Auntie Wang doing alright?"

"She is doing okay."

Lin Chang looked at Lin Li with deep guilt. "Li'er, Dad has let you down. If you ever need anything in the future, remember to tell Dad. Dad will definitely support you with everything I have."

Lin Li rejoiced secretly in his heart.

His mother truly had her ways. Just like that, she had already appeased Lin Chang completely.

It seemed he needed to take advantage of the fact that Lin Chang still felt a great deal of guilt toward him to squeeze all the money out of the man.

The wealth of the Lin family was a perfect opportunity for him to make a massive fortune.
