It's Impossible to Be a Genius

"In life, you have to rely on yourself. Relying on a woman? That train is bound to wreck sooner or later," Chen Mo sneered.

It would be hilarious when Boss Su finally dumped Lin Xuan.

"Relying on a woman? Relying on yourself?" A female student looked at Chen Mo in confusion. "What are you talking about?"

"Nothing, just thinking out loud."

Chen Mo didn't dare admit he was talking about Lin Xuan.

He knew all too well how fanatical these female students were about him.

The girl lost interest in him and went back to excitedly discussing Lin Xuan with her friend.

"I originally thought this school project was nothing special, but now that our idol is participating, I bet it's actually a big deal. We get to be part of a major project and see our idol? We have to work hard to get selected!"

The female students grew even more excited.

Their idol really was going to participate in the research project.

Two professors were already waiting inside. To be a professor at Qing University required a high level of expertise; these were individuals highly respected in the academic world.

They were aware that Lin Xuan intended to research photolithography chip technology and were brimming with excitement.

As soon as they saw Lin Xuan enter, they immediately stood up to greet him.

"Hello, Student Lin Xuan. We are here to assist you with the interviews."

"Mm." Lin Xuan nodded.

He sat down in a chair.

"Hua, I've got some things to take care of at school right now. When I'm done, if it's still early, I'll come to the company to find you," Lin Xuan said into his phone.

"Okay." Su Hua nodded, her eyes curving into a smile. "Then I'll be waiting for you, Xuan."

Lin Xuan hung up the phone.

He spoke up: "Let them in."

"Alright, Student Lin Xuan," one of the professors nodded.

He stood up, went to the door, and announced loudly, "Candidate Number One, Sun Xiaoli, please come in for your interview."

Seeing that Lin Xuan hadn't come out yet, Sun Xiaoli knew he must still be inside the office. She nervously stood up from her seat and smoothed out her clothes.

She also tidied her hair.

Taking a deep breath to psyche herself up, she walked in.

The other students looked confused.

"What's going on? Sun Xiaoli is Number One, so when Lin Xuan went in just now..."

"Someone as impressive as Lin Xuan definitely has special privileges. He can probably enter the interview room to wait whenever he wants. However, there's another possibility: he isn't here to interview at all, but just came to find one of the interviewers for something."

Hearing this, disappointment washed over the girls' faces.

"If my idol isn't participating in the project, I don't want to participate either. Forget it, I'll just phone it in during the interview. I'd rather go join a corporate R&D project."

While Lin Xuan was conducting Sun Xiaoli's interview inside, more students arrived outside.

These were outstanding students newly selected by the teachers at the principal's request.

Lin Jingyue, the girl Chen Mo had always liked, was among them.

Seeing Lin Jingyue, he walked over excitedly.

"Student Lin, long time no see," Chen Mo said gently, suppressing the thrill in his heart.

However, Lin Jingyue didn't even glance at him. She walked right past him to talk to her best friend.

"Yueyue, guess who I just saw?" her best friend, Chen Ting, said excitedly.

"Who?" Lin Jingyue asked curiously.

"Lin Xuan! I just saw Lin Xuan go into the interview room, and he hasn't come out yet. I suspect he's participating in this research project too," Chen Ting speculated.

"Really?" Lin Jingyue's face showed disbelief.

"Really!" Chen Ting replied. "Why would I lie to you? Listen, we have to perform well later and fight to stay in this project. That way, we'll have plenty of chances to see Lin Xuan in the future."

"Okay, I'll definitely do my best," Lin Jingyue nodded excitedly.

"Tingting, look at me. Is there anything wrong with my outfit?" Lin Jingyue asked nervously, straightening her clothes.

Chen Ting smiled. "No problem at all, Yueyue. Don't worry, you look elegant and poised. If Lin Xuan notices you, it will definitely leave a good impression."

"That's good." Lin Jingyue let out a small sigh of relief.

They knew that Boss Su was Lin Xuan's girlfriend, so they had no chance of being with him.

However, that didn't stop them from treating him as an idol.

Who wouldn't want to leave a good impression on their idol?

"But I heard this research is about hardware technology. Lin Xuan is a Computer Science major; are you sure he'd be participating in this kind of research?" After calming down a bit, Lin Jingyue couldn't help but ask.
