The Trafficked College Student 01

"Old Fang, wake up! Your son is back!" someone shouted. Fang Zhiyi slowly opened his eyes, adjusting for a moment before a sharp pain shot through his head as the plot flooded in.

This was a remote mountain village, isolated and backward, where the villagers clung to archaic beliefs favoring sons over daughters. For the unmarried men, their path to marriage became a nightmare for ignorant young girls—they would buy women from human traffickers to bear children and labor.

Fang Zhiyi’s family had two sons. The younger one was studying outside the village and doing well in school, while the elder, Fang Dagang, worked the fields and occasionally gathered mountain goods. Now that Fang Dagang was of marrying age, he had purchased a female college student from traffickers. The girl was chained in the pigpen, beaten and tormented daily until she finally submitted.

Fang Zhiyi didn’t think much of it—such things were common in the village.

Once, the girl tried to escape but was caught by Fang Zhiyi’s wife, Mei Lanju, who broke her leg.

After that, the girl became vacant-eyed. She once tried to plead for help with the delivery driver from the village store, even offering her body. But after taking advantage of her, the driver reported her to the villagers, and she was beaten again.

The closest she ever came to freedom was during a village banquet when many were drunk. She tried to escape with a few other trafficked girls, but one of them, Bai Xue, couldn’t bear to leave her mother-in-law behind and sneaked back to leave her a letter. The girl went back to find her, only to be discovered. All the escapees were caught—except Bai Xue, who fled into the mountains in the chaos.

Finally, after a few days of feigned obedience, the girl waited until everyone let their guard down. Then, under the cover of night, she took a knife and slaughtered the entire Fang family before setting herself on fire.

"What the hell?" Fang Zhiyi gritted his teeth. "There’s no female lead in this script?"

The system shook its head. "There is. Keep reading." Another segment of the plot unfolded.

The Fang family’s gruesome fate terrified the villagers, who began treating the trafficked girls slightly better. Meanwhile, Bai Xue, who had escaped, collapsed at the foot of the mountain and was rescued by the male lead.

He took her to his villa, where under his care, Bai Xue regained her spirit and revealed her ordeal. But she didn’t know—the man who saved her was the young master of the human trafficking ring. What followed was a turbulent love story of separation and reunion, pain and passion.

In the end, the male lead was moved to redemption. He led his men to rescue all the girls in the village, while Bai Xue stood there like a saint, basking in their gratitude. Afterward, the male lead handed over the entire organization’s list to the police, faked his own death, and fled abroad to live happily ever after with the female lead.

"Damn it! What kind of garbage is this?" Fang Zhiyi cursed. "Do you not have any decent plots?"

The system stretched slightly, waving its hands. "That’s exactly why your job exists."

"Mission objective?"

"None."

"Huh?"

The system explained, "Worlds like these, too messed up for fixed roles or tasks, are just open-world missions. No specific assignments, but you’ll earn points based on your actions—the better you perform, the higher the score."

Fang Zhiyi tilted his neck, bones cracking. "Fine. Got it."

He pushed the door open and nearly collided with a middle-aged woman—Mei Lanju, his wife.

"Go take a look! They’ve already brought her inside!" Mei Lanju paused, then scolded.

Fang Zhiyi nodded and walked to his son’s room, shoving aside the gawking villagers. "The hell are you staring at? Scram!"

The original host often spoke like this, so the villagers just laughed and dispersed.

"Fang Dagang’s got some luck—this girl’s a real looker!"

"Heard she’s a college student too. Cost 5,000! Kid sure saved up well."

"Guess I should start saving for my son."

"More like for yourself! Hahaha!"

Frowning, Fang Zhiyi entered the room and saw the girl, bound tightly, struggling to sit up. Her face was full of terror as she stared at him and Fang Dagang—she knew what was coming.

"Dad, get out for a bit," Fang Dagang urged impatiently.

But Mei Lanju, who had followed him in, said, "What’s the rush? Can’t we take a look at the new bride?"

Fang Dagang reluctantly agreed. "Fine. Look." He yanked the cloth from the girl’s mouth. "Call us Mom and Dad!"

Instead, the girl burst into tears. "Please… please let me go..."

Fang Dagang’s eyes narrowed. He’d heard from Li Zi that bought wives had to be beaten into submission. He raised his hand, and the girl flinched—but then a roar cut through the air. "Stop right there! (Put your hand down!)"

Fang Dagang turned in surprise to his parents. Fang Zhiyi and Mei Lanju exchanged a glance, both sensing something odd.

Mei Lanju quickly added, "You hit her on the first day? What kind of marriage is that? Get out. Let me talk to her." She shoved both Fang Zhiyi and Fang Dagang out of the room.

Fang Zhiyi exhaled. Now he had to figure out how to save her—but it wouldn’t be easy. If he let her go, his family would face the villagers’ wrath. And she wouldn’t make it far—surrounded by mountains and watched by idle men, she’d be in even greater danger.

"Dad, why’d you yell at me?" Fang Dagang grumbled. Though young and strong, he still cowered before his father.

Fang Zhiyi shot him a look. How did this idiot even get born?

"Your old man’s had an epiphany," Fang Zhiyi decided to lecture him.

Fang Dagang stared. Fang Zhiyi raised a fist. "Only cowards hit women."

"That’s it? But you used to hit Mom."

Fang Zhiyi faltered, then punched Fang Dagang. "That’s why I said it’s a new epiphany!"

"Just remember—real men don’t hit women!"

Fang Dagang rubbed his sore arm and nodded reluctantly.

The door opened. Mei Lanju stepped out, smiling at Fang Dagang. "I talked some sense into her." Overjoyed, Fang Dagang stood to enter, but his mother yanked him back. "What’s the hurry? Shouldn’t we hold a wedding feast first? No manners!"

Fang Dagang hesitated, but seeing his father didn’t object, he agreed.

Fang Zhiyi gave Mei Lanju a strange look, then glanced at the now-unbound girl. Before he could turn back, a sharp slap landed on his back. "What are you staring at? Come with me!" The pain made Fang Zhiyi suck in a breath.

Back in their room, neither spoke—as if they’d never had much to say. But Fang Zhiyi kept his ears sharp, listening for any movement outside.
