Deceived Another Girl's Feelings

Chen Zhi sat back down as if nothing had happened, casually lighting up his phone screen.

As soon as he sat down, a faint jasmine scent drifted over from beside him.

Pei Ningxue held her Compulsory English Book 1 high up, almost burying her entire face in it. She revealed only a pair of clear, lively eyes that stared at him over the edge of the book with a half-smile.

"I couldn't tell, Class Monitor Chen," Pei Ningxue's voice was kept very low so only the two of them could hear. "So you're this kind of scumbag, deceiving the feelings of yet another innocent young girl?"

Chen Zhi didn't even bat an eyelid, his fingers swiping on the screen to message Li Jiahao. "You're joining the fun too? That idiot Li Jiahao did this, and you have to pin it on me?"

"Flies don't swarm an uncracked egg."

Pei Ningxue lowered the book an inch, revealing her perky nose. Her gaze circled Chen Zhi's face before quickly darting away. "Why didn't they use someone else's photo to date online? Why yours? Isn't it because your face looks like it belongs to a womanizer?"

Chen Zhi laughed out of sheer annoyance, turning to look at her. "Pei Ningxue, are you complimenting my looks or insulting me? Besides, is it my fault that I'm handsome?"

"Narcissist."

Pei Ningxue gave a soft snort, her fingers absently rubbing the pages. Her eyes drifted for a moment before she suddenly blurted out, "Aren't you a bit too greedy?"

"Huh?" Chen Zhi was completely baffled.

"Three isn't enough? You still want to fish for another one online?" Pei Ningxue's voice grew even softer, like a feather brushing against the heart, carrying a hint of sourness.

Chen Zhi froze for a second before realizing what she meant.

Three?

Lin Wanwan counts as one, Li Zhiyi... barely counts as half, so who is the third?

His gaze fell on Pei Ningxue's fair, delicate side profile, and he suddenly smiled.

"Wait, classmate Pei, your math is a bit off, isn't it?" Chen Zhi leaned back slightly against his chair, looking entirely righteous. "When did I have three girlfriends? I'm an upstanding, good student who never dates early and only focuses on the holy books."

Pei Ningxue rolled her eyes, clearly not believing a single punctuation mark of that nonsense.

"Keep acting. Just keep acting."

Chen Zhi suddenly leaned in a bit closer, staring into her eyes, and lowered his voice with a wicked grin. "Besides, Lin Wanwan is my neighbor, and Li Zhiyi is my good friend, so who's the third? You?"

Pei Ningxue's breath hitched.

"What are you talking about!" She dodged his gaze in a panic.

"Is it not?" Chen Zhi pressed on, feigning sudden realization. "What do you mean, Pei Ningxue? Do you actually have feelings for me? I've always treated you as a good bro, and you actually have a crush on me?"

"Who is your bro! Who has a crush on you!"

Pei Ningxue was dying of embarrassment and anger, her usual aloof persona completely crumbling. She jerked her head away, giving Chen Zhi the back of her head, and squeezed out a few words through gritted teeth:

"Shameless."

"Thanks for the compliment."

Pei Ningxue ignored him, revealing only her bright red ears.

Having finished teasing his desk-mate, Chen Zhi turned his attention back to the classroom.

The atmosphere was indeed a bit off.

Ever since he went all-out and roasted Zhao Lei and Liu Xiaoyan, the vibe in Class 10 of the tenth grade had become weird.

Before, people looked at him as the top scorer of the high school entrance exam, a handsome guy.

Now, they looked at him like he was some heinous two-timer.

Especially the group of boys led by Zhao Lei, who were gathered by the trash can at the back of the classroom, pointing fingers in his direction.

"That kid is too arrogant. We have to teach him a lesson."

"Exactly. Bullying girls just because he has good grades, what a jerk."

"Let's all ignore him from now on. Treat him like air and see how long he can stay arrogant."

"Yeah, the whole class should isolate him! This guy's character is flawed!"

Although he couldn't hear the exact details, looking at the righteous indignation on the faces of those Simp Sheep, Chen Zhi could guess what they were plotting with his toes.

Trying to isolate me?

Chen Zhi almost laughed out loud.

Have these brats read too many novels? Or do they think this kindergarten-level tactic can deal critical damage to him?

He was here to study, not to socialize.

Besides, did this bunch of losers even have the right to isolate him?

"A bunch of idiots."

The learning atmosphere in Class 10 was already poor, and now it was completely toxic.

He had originally planned to just slack off and coast through his days in this regular class, but now it seemed the environment was too much of a mood-killer. Those flies might not bite, but their buzzing was disgusting.

He might as well just score first in the grade during the next monthly exam and apply to transfer classes.

Going to Class 1 to hang out with Li Zhiyi, or to Class 7 to find Lin Wanwan—wouldn't either be better than watching these Simp Sheep put on a play here?

Thinking of this, the gloom in Chen Zhi's heart dissipated a lot.

Every wrong has its cause, every debt its debtor.

The main culprits behind all this, aside from that drama queen Liu Xiaoyan, was that photo-stealing dog Li Jiahao.

Chen Zhi opened WeChat and found Li Jiahao.

Chen Zhi: Li Jiahao, you bastard.

Chen Zhi: If you want to online date, then online date. Why the fuck did you send my picture?

Chen Zhi: You're screwing your daddy over!

The messages were sent, but it was like dropping stones into the ocean.

After a good while, the other side replied with a feeble meme: a panda head kneeling on the ground, shivering.

Li Jiahao: I didn't expect her to go looking for you! I just thought you were handsome and wanted to borrow your face for a bit...

Chen Zhi looked at the screen, his teeth itching with anger, yet finding it somewhat funny.

...

The last period of the afternoon was self-study.

The moment the dismissal bell rang, Chen Zhi was the first to dash out of the classroom.

He was so fast that even Zhao Lei, who had wanted to pick a fight, didn't have time to react.

Staying in this dump for even one more second would shorten his lifespan.

Chen Zhi carried his backpack, walked through the noisy corridor, and took a deep breath of the fresh air outside. Only then did he feel the stifling feeling in his chest clear up a bit.

He arrived at the door of Grade 10, Class 7.

Class 7 hadn't been dismissed yet; the teacher was still on the podium, spitting in all directions as they dragged out the lesson.

Chen Zhi wasn't in a hurry. He leaned against the corridor railing, boredly watching the crowd playing soccer on the field downstairs.

The sun was setting, and the golden-red afterglow washed over him, gilding his tall, straight posture with a warm edge.

Many girls walking by couldn't help but sneak glances back at him.

"Is that Chen Zhi from Class 10?"

"He's so handsome... I heard he was the top scorer in the high school entrance exam?"

Chen Zhi turned a deaf ear to all of this.

After about five minutes, the door to Class 7 finally opened.

A large group of students surged out, pushing and shoving.

Lin Wanwan was one of the last to come out.

She wore her hair in a high ponytail, looking completely youthful and brimming with vitality.

The moment she stepped out of the back door, her large eyes scanned the corridor.

Seeing Chen Zhi leaning against the railing, Lin Wanwan's eyes instantly lit up.

"Chen Zhi!"

A crisp, cheerful shout.

Lin Wanwan bounded over like a joyful little deer. Not caring in the slightest that so many classmates were watching, she directly reached out both hands and skillfully linked her arms around Chen Zhi's.

A soft sensation transmitted over.

Chen Zhi looked down at the human-shaped pendant hanging off him, and his previously gloomy mood instantly brightened.

"I'm starving, I'm starving!"

Lin Wanwan looked up at him pitifully, her little mouth pouting.

"The math teacher is such a psycho, keeping us ten minutes after the bell! You've made me go home alone for so many days, so today is your treat."

"Alright, alright, my treat."

Chen Zhi reached out a finger and gently flicked her smooth forehead.

"What can I do? You're the boss."

"Hehe, I knew you were the best!"

Lin Wanwan wasn't annoyed by the flick at all; instead, she smiled even more sweetly. She hugged Chen Zhi's arm and swung it back and forth, practically pressing her whole body into his embrace.

The two of them joked and messed around like this, walking toward the staircase as if there was no one else around.

The afterglow of the setting sun spilled over them, stretching out two long, overlapping shadows. The young man was tall and handsome, and the young woman was pretty and cute. The scene was as beautiful as a shot from a teen idol drama.

However, this scene left a completely different taste in the mouths of certain onlookers.

Just around the corner of the back door of Class Seven.

A boy with thick glasses and a face full of acne was staring fixedly at them.

He was a student from Class Ten, a loyal member of the Anti-Chen Zhi Alliance, and above all, a backup simp for Liu Xiaoyan.

He had just been heading to the restroom when he happened to bump into Chen Zhi coming to look for someone.

He watched helplessly as Chen Zhi, who was currently being cursed as a scumbag in their class, was intimately holding onto a girl who was even prettier and more elegant than Liu Xiaoyan.

That girl smiled so sweetly, her eyes full of stars as she looked at Chen Zhi.

And what about Chen Zhi?

He had a face full of doting affection, letting the girl act cute and spoiled.

"Holy shit..."

The guy with glasses felt his worldview crumbling.

Was this the true power of a scumbag?

He had just made Liu Xiaoyan cry in class, and the next second he already had a new fling? And to be honest, the quality of this new girl was more than just a tier above Liu Xiaoyan.

Where was the justice? Where was the law?

With trembling hands, the glasses-wearing boy pulled his phone from his pocket and snapped a picture of their retreating backs.

The photo was a bit blurry, but their intimate posture was undeniable.

"Damn it, Chen Zhi, you're dead meat!"

The bespectacled boy looked at the photo on his phone, his eyes flashing with excitement.

This was ironclad proof!

Ironclad proof that he was two-timing... oh wait, multiple-timing!

As long as he posted this picture on the school forum, or showed it to Liu Xiaoyan, Chen Zhi would never be able to shake off the scumbag label!

When that happened, let's see how he'd survive in Class Ten! Let's see how he'd survive at Jiangcheng No. 1 Middle School!

The boy in glasses could almost picture the scene of Chen Zhi's reputation in ruins, spat on by every girl in the school, and he couldn't help but grin from ear to ear.

He put his phone away and turned to sprint back to the Class Ten classroom.

This time, we are going to ruin Chen Zhi socially!
