Epilogue (Part Two)

Life at Myriad Worlds Apartment quickly settled back into its usual peaceful routine.

Early one morning, Ye Chuan had just stepped out of his room when he heard Lan Xiaoke and Ye Yue locked in a heated debate in the living room.

"Hurry up, use your skill!"

"I-I already pressed it, it's still on cooldown..."

Ye Yue gripped the game controller nervously, the character on the screen had already collapsed, and the very next second, the character Lan Xiaoke was controlling got swatted flying by a monster.

The game screen quickly faded to gray. Lan Xiaoke flopped back onto the sofa, holding her head, and let out a dramatic, pained wail.

"I almost had it that time!"

"I'm so sorry..." Ye Yue said, sounding guilty.

"It's not your fault."

Lan Xiaoke sat back up straight, analyzing the situation very seriously. "It must be the lag. I clearly pressed the dodge button in time."

Ke Ning, who was sitting beside them, lifted her eyes. "The latency is 0.0001 milliseconds. It won't affect your moves at all."

Lan Xiaoke went silent for two seconds. "Then the controller must be broken."

Ke Ning reached out to take the controller, and with only one hand, she piloted both characters to clear the level that the two of them had been stuck on all morning.

Lan Xiaoke stared at the fallen monsters on the screen, then slowly turned her head to look at Ye Yue after a long pause. "I suddenly don't feel like playing anymore."

Ye Yue nodded, holding back a smile, then turned off the game on her own, got up and headed to the kitchen to help Hu Li make breakfast.

Hu Li was frying eggs, her fluffy tail swaying gently as she moved, with several plates of pastries already set out beside her. Lan Xiaoke snuck over to the dining table, and the second her fingers touched a pastry, Hu Li's tail smacked the back of her hand right on target.

"Big Sis Xiaoke, no sneaking food before breakfast."

"I'm just tasting it to make sure it's good!"

"That's exactly what you said yesterday..."

Lan Xiaoke pulled her hand back, then spotted Lilith sitting on the other side, sipping tea with a whole plate of fruit in front of her.

"How come she gets to eat first?"

Lilith picked up a grape, her expression perfectly natural. "Because I grew all these fruits with my magic."

Lan Xiaoke stared at the plate of fruit for a moment, her eyes gradually lighting up. "Then I'll grow some stuff too with my Star Power!"

"What are you gonna grow?"

"Stars."

"Your brain really is broken..."

Ye Chuan had just walked down the stairs. "Lan Xiaoke."

"Yep, that's me!"

"If you mess anything up around the place, the cost to fix or replace the furniture will come out of your allowance."

Lan Xiaoke immediately latched onto Ye Chuan's arm, trying to save her already dangerously low wallet. "Even the Great Emperor has to pay an allowance?"

"Of course you do."

"NOOOOOOOOOO!" Lan Xiaoke flopped onto the floor. "I used to be a Heavenly Emperor who reigned over an entire era..."

"Venmo me 500,000, and I'll give you the power of a Immortal King."

"Alright, c'mon." Ye Chuan lifted Lan Xiaoke back up to her feet. "I'll take you to play games."

"Really?"

"Yep."

"Heeheehee."

Lilith watched Lan Xiaoke acting like a total fool, and couldn't help shaking her head. "Yeah... her brain is definitely not all there, but wait, this creature was originally someone's mount?"

"The mount of the Chaotic Heavenly Emperor, right? The Starry Sky Beast Emperor?"

"Eh, whatever. As long as Ye Chuan dotes on her, it's fine."

Upstairs, Ye Chuan's voice echoed over, with Lan Xiaoke's voice faintly audible too. "Hey Lilith, wanna come play games with us?"

"Hmph, as if I'd want to..." Lilith said, even as she stood up and floated into the air. "Fine, I'll come play with you guys for a bit."

"Ye Chuan... aren't you scared of getting shocked?"

"What are you even talking about..."
