The next class was P.E., and Ye Chuan headed to the locker room to change.
Perhaps because of the incident with Huang Haotian’s challenge, Ye Chuan drew quite a few glances as he changed—especially now, after his body’s refinement, his skin was healthy and radiant, his muscle definition flawless. His physique alone was eye-catching.
Too bad there weren’t many girls around.
Still, Huang Haotian wasn’t coming to school anymore, so Ye Chuan could enjoy some peace for a while.
As the saying goes, petty troublemakers are the hardest to deal with—you never know when they might pull some annoying stunt.
Most of the time, nothing serious happened, but occasionally, they’d still manage to get under your skin.
If they bothered him again, he’d just use the little trinkets Lan Xiaoke had given him to teach them a lesson. Those weak talismans weren’t much use anyway, perfect for dealing with idiots who didn’t know their place.
Ah, he really was too kind.
Not even bothering to deal with them himself, just sending a few minor spirits their way.
Let them experience a real-life horror story at home—something like The Red Wedding Dress.
A full 3D ghost experience.
……
Once Ye Chuan had changed into his gym shirt, he headed out to the field.
The weather was nice today. Walking along the track, he could smell the faint rubbery scent in the air, mixed with the fresh grass from the nearby soccer field.
“Ha.” Ye Chuan yawned and casually stretched.
“Chuan, you know we’ve got fitness tests today, right?” A familiar male classmate grinned beside him.
He was scrawny, one of the few who’d moved up to university with Ye Chuan and Luo Xi from their high school. They occasionally chatted.
Truthfully, Ye Chuan had always been decently sociable. But after entering university, his old friends were scattered, and with everyone’s schedules differing, he hadn’t interacted much with his new classmates.
Most of his time had been spent just trying to survive—his health had declined, and he hadn’t been in the mood for socializing.
“Fitness test? Should be an easy full score,” Ye Chuan smirked.
With his current strength at the peak of the Foundation Establishment realm, acing a fitness test was child’s play.
“That confident?”
“Damn right.”
After a bit more small talk, Ye Chuan spotted Luo Xi in the distance.
Tall, dressed in sportswear, her legs fair and straight, her high ponytail bouncing slightly with her movements—she looked full of energy.
Luo Xi had always been popular at school, and now she was surrounded by a group of giggling girls, chatting about who-knows-what.
“Chuan!” Luo Xi waved cheerfully when she saw him.
Ye Chuan walked over, nudging aside a squealing girl before saying, “Zhou Tai just told me we’ve got fitness tests today.”
Zhou Tai was the scrawny guy from earlier. Luo Xi poked Ye Chuan’s cheek in response. “Chuan, did you really not know about the fitness test?”
“Nope.”
“You should at least pay attention in class. This won’t do.” She put her hands on her hips, looking like she was about to lecture him.
But the next second, Ye Chuan blew lightly into her ear. The electric jolt made Luo Xi shiver, and she swatted at him, ticklish. “Eek! You’re the worst!”
As they roughhoused, the class bell rang. The P.E. teacher quickly gathered everyone—since it was fitness test day, the boys and girls were split into two groups.
“Listen up, we’re doing fitness tests today. Same as usual—finish a few events, then you’re free to go.” The teacher listed off the available events for the class to choose from.
“You university kids sit around all day, either gaming or glued to your phones. That’s no good—your bodies will age fast.” While the teacher rambled, Ye Chuan skimmed the options.
Standard stuff: long jump, sprints, long-distance running, high jump…
“Once you’ve picked, come line up over here.”
“Chuan, what’d you pick?” Luo Xi asked curiously.
“Shot put, sprint, and high jump.” Ye Chuan shrugged. The quicker events were best—no point wasting time.
He returned the question. “You?”
“Sprint, long-distance, and long jump!” Luo Xi grinned, flashing her pearly whites. She was pretty athletic, so the fitness test was no problem for her.
“Huh. By the way, where’s An Shiyu?” Ye Chuan glanced around but didn’t see her.
“Faked sick to skip.”
“Tch. Lazy as ever.” Ye Chuan wasn’t surprised, but he didn’t dwell on it, focusing instead on preparing for the test.
After a short wait, it was finally Ye Chuan’s turn for shot put.
A decent crowd had gathered—given Ye Chuan’s recent notoriety, everyone wanted to see just how far he could throw.
“Six meters to pass, eleven for full marks. Got it?” The P.E. teacher checked Ye Chuan’s name before explaining the standards.
Ye Chuan picked up the shot put—about ten pounds, but it felt featherlight in his hand. He tossed it lightly. “What if I throw twenty?”
“…” The teacher gave him a look like he was an idiot. “Twenty meters is Olympic level. If you can do that, you’re exempt from all future fitness tests.”
“Sweet.” Satisfied, Ye Chuan took his position.
Nearby, Luo Xi and a group of onlookers watched, curious.
“How far do you think Chuan can throw?”
“With those skinny arms? Who knows?” A voice chimed in. Luo Xi turned to see An Shiyu leaning on a crutch nearby.
“Shiyu, you—?”
“Just a prop.” An Shiyu tapped her “injured” leg. “Fitness tests? Not in this lifetime.”
Luo Xi: “…”
You’d go this far just to skip?
“Shiyu, you don’t think Chuan can throw far?”
“No clue how his physique suddenly improved, but strength doesn’t just appear overnight.” An Shiyu scoffed. “If he clears eight meters, I’ll buy you ice cream.”
“I believe in him!”
“Ohhh, you ~believe~ in him~” An Shiyu rolled her eyes. “Hopeless romantic.”
“Am not!”
……
Ye Chuan stood at the starting line, eyed the distance, then casually hurled the shot put.
“Your form’s all wrong—” The teacher started to criticize, then froze.
The shot put shot through the air like a cannonball before slamming into the ground.
“How far?!”
“That’s gotta be thirty or forty meters!”
