Weekend, early morning.
When Ye Chuan woke up, he realized it was already 10 a.m. Even though he had now begun cultivating immortality, he still maintained the habits of an ordinary person—eating, drinking, and sleeping whenever he pleased. Life was comfortable.
After all, he didn’t need to train. His cultivation would automatically break through when the time came, so he didn’t have to spend his days practicing like Bai Qianshuang.
All he had to do was find a cozy spot to laze around, and eventually, he’d become invincible.
It seemed only the cultivators from the Tianxuan Continent could pose a threat to him. Based on the strength of superhumans in the real world, Ye Chuan’s combat power was likely among the top tier.
But even if the cultivators from the Tianxuan Continent could threaten him, dying would only mean his adventure was cut short.
It wasn’t like any cultivator could just waltz over from the Tianxuan Continent, right?
After a quick wash, he left his room.
Bai Qianshuang and Lan Xiaoke were already in the living room. The moment they heard Ye Chuan’s door open, Lan Xiaoke immediately put away her phone, grabbed a nearby rag, and started wiping the table with exaggerated enthusiasm.
She scrubbed furiously, panting as if she were working hard, then turned her head with feigned surprise.
"Hey, you’re finally up?"
"You’re being this diligent?" Ye Chuan was surprised to see Lan Xiaoke cleaning so early in the morning. Was she actually this hardworking?
Lan Xiaoke grinned, speeding up her movements until her hands were practically a blur. "Can’t take money for nothing, right? So… any chance of a raise for my hard work?"
Bai Qianshuang, standing nearby, seemed like she wanted to say something but ultimately stayed silent, quietly polishing her immortal sword instead.
Ye Chuan felt something was off but didn’t press the issue.
"I bought tickets to the amusement park. We’ll head out soon," he said. He had already purchased them online.
After breakfast, Ye Chuan set off with Bai Qianshuang and Lan Xiaoke.
And, of course, Lilith, who was hanging around his neck—though he still wasn’t entirely sure what her deal was.
……
"Honestly, buying a car would be more convenient."
As they waited for their ride by the roadside, Ye Chuan couldn’t help but sigh. Hailing a ride was a bit of a hassle. If this was how things were, he might as well spend some money and get his own car.
"Now that I have money, I should live a little better," he mused. He felt he had spent too much on cultivation and neglected his own comfort.
Bai Qianshuang, however, had no idea what Ye Chuan was thinking as he shook his head.
Today, she wore a simple cyan embroidered blouse paired with a white knee-length pleated skirt. Combined with her naturally cool and elegant demeanor, she gave off a vibe that was both pure and alluring.
All these clothes had been bought by Ye Chuan, who had made it clear that if Bai Qianshuang wanted to go out, she had to wear modern attire.
Bai Qianshuang didn’t mind at all—she didn’t want to cause trouble for Ye Chuan.
But just then, she noticed a woman in ancient-style clothing standing near the bus stop. Her delicate eyes flickered with confusion. "Ye Chuan, why is that person dressed so similarly to the clothes from my world…?"
Ye Chuan glanced over and saw a young woman in hanfu, probably in her early twenties.
"That’s called hanfu—a traditional style of clothing. It’s part of cultural fashion, though it’s not very practical for movement," he explained. It was a niche trend, something you’d only occasionally spot on the streets.
In places with stronger cultural influences, like Xi’an, you’d see more of it.
Though, he had to admit, Bai Qianshuang would probably look stunning in hanfu.
"I want to wear that…" Bai Qianshuang murmured. Even though her skirt reached her knees, the breezy sensation still felt unfamiliar—almost as if she weren’t wearing anything at all.
"Ye Chuan…"
She turned to him, her voice soft.
Seeing her pleading expression, Ye Chuan couldn’t help but chuckle. "If you want to wear that kind of clothing, I can buy some for you. But like I said, it’s a bit harder to take care of."
Then again, he reconsidered—it wasn’t really an issue. Spiritual energy could easily handle washing or drying clothes.
And if all else failed, the Universal Landlord APP had dryers and other appliances for sale.
"Pfft, I’ve got it easy!" Lan Xiaoke suddenly transformed into a hanfu outfit and grinned. As a spirit, she could change her appearance at will.
While Ye Chuan and Bai Qianshuang chatted, their ride soon arrived.
Bai Qianshuang rarely traveled far, so once inside the car, she sat quietly beside Ye Chuan, gazing out the window.
"The sea," she murmured, spotting the coastal scenery in the distance.
Being a seaside city, the amusement park was conveniently located near the shore. As the car crossed the bridge, Bai Qianshuang stared at the deep blue ocean, momentarily lost in thought.
"Your world doesn’t have seas?" Ye Chuan asked.
"It does…" Bai Qianshuang shook her head. "Black ones."
Black?
That surprised Ye Chuan. A black sea? The Tianxuan Continent really had some bizarre things.
"Too many deaths. The red sea turned black," she explained. "And it’s filled with swarms of demonic beasts—dark masses covering the waters."
Ye Chuan: "…"
Why does that sound horrifying?
About half an hour later, they arrived at the amusement park.
"So this is an amusement park…" Bai Qianshuang watched as a roller coaster roared past, her curiosity piqued.
The ride was packed with people, all screaming as it plunged downward at high speed.
"That vehicle isn’t particularly fast. Why do they ride it in circles?" she asked, turning to Ye Chuan.
"Because it’s fun," he replied.
"Fun…? Then why are they screaming?"
"When something feels amazing, you just gotta yell," Ye Chuan said, amused by her innocent confusion. "Don’t worry, you’ll understand eventually."
Bai Qianshuang tilted her head slightly, her bangs swaying.
Then she lowered her gaze. "I’m sorry, Ye Chuan. There’s still so much I don’t understand. Thank you for teaching me."
"It’s fine. We’ve got plenty of time ahead of us—we’ll take it slow." Ye Chuan took her soft hand in his, his voice tender. "As long as you don’t leave me."
Bai Qianshuang shivered slightly at the warmth of his touch.
She couldn’t bring herself to meet his eyes, turning away with a whisper. "Mm. I won’t leave."
Satisfied, Ye Chuan smiled and let go.
Bai Qianshuang froze. As his hand left hers, she suddenly felt an inexplicable emptiness in her chest.
What… was happening to her?
