A Proper Dragon

Yuna and Yu Li shared a bed, while Emily and Rosa Linda shared another. Kandis had a room all to herself.

Lin Feng could only cuddle with Red Scale on the sofa in the living room.

Although Kandis and Emily mentioned that they wouldn't mind resting together, Lin Feng thought it would be better to behave for a day or two after not seeing each other for ten years.

In the early morning, Red Scale woke Lin Feng up.

"Why are you moving? Didn't you hibernate?" she asked.

Red Scale's stomach growled, and she used her dragon horn to nudge Lin Feng. "Boss, I'm hungry."

"Hungry? Do you eat carrots?"

"What's a carrot?" Red Scale replied.

Lin Feng rummaged through the kitchen and finally found a muddy carrot among various vegetables.

Well, bunny girls like to eat this, but who knows if dragons do.

Red Scale sniffed it with her nose, disdainfully tossed the carrot aside. "What a strange smell. Don't want to eat."

"So hard to please."

"What about potatoes? I can roast them for you."

"What's that?" Red Scale yawned, stretching on the sofa like a cat.

Lin Feng took a potato from his pocket and tossed it to Red Scale.

"What's this? Hard and smells like mud."

"It's a potato, dug up on my way back."

"Don't want it. I want fish."

"In the middle of winter, where am I supposed to find fish for you? Don't eat if you're not hungry! How did I end up with such a picky dragon?" Lin Feng crawled back under the warm blanket, ready to return to dreamland and play with the cute beast-eared girls.

Red Scale looked at her grumbling stomach, then at Lin Feng about to sleep again, and instantly gave in.

"Well... can I eat it? Is that okay?" she mumbled.

Lin Feng tossed a few frozen and solid potatoes near the fireplace.

Once they turned pitch black, he used tongs to take them out one by one.

Staring at the charred things in her hand, Red Scale fell into contemplation.

"Will I die if I eat this?"

"You, an invulnerable dragon, die from eating a potato? Don't be ridiculous." Lin Feng rolled his eyes, picked up a hot potato, blew off the ash, "In my grandparents' time, potatoes were eaten like this."

"Don't believe it unless you eat it first."

Lin Feng split open a roasted potato, and a tempting aroma filled the living room.

In just a few seconds, all of Red Scale's doubts vanished without a trace.

At this moment,

Potatoes were the exquisite delicacy in her heart.

She licked her lips, imitating Lin Feng, split a potato, and then stuffed it into her mouth.

Chewed a few times and swallowed.

In no time, she bent over, pounding her chest and stomping her feet, as if she had fallen seriously ill, her face turning red.

"Boss... boss, help!"

If the mighty Red Dragon choked to death on a potato, wouldn't it be a laughingstock?

"Don't make a fuss; they're all asleep at this hour." Lin Feng knocked on her head, then went to the kitchen to scoop up a ladle of water for Red Scale to slowly drink.

"Silly dragon, you just woke up, and your throat is dry. Eat potatoes slowly; I'm not competing with you."

"Mm."

Red Scale agreed with her mouth full, but in reality, she continued devouring them one by one.

Red Scale: I have to admit, this guy may be a troublemaker, but he's quite easy to take care of.

I can even scrape together a meal with just potatoes for him.

In the blink of an eye, several potatoes were devoured in one go.

It seems Red Scale still isn't satisfied, reaching into the fireplace and miraculously pulling out another potato.

She originally intended to toss it directly into her mouth, but after a moment's hesitation, she glanced at Lin Feng.

"What's up?"

Holding the potato, Red Scale slowly offered it to Lin Feng, "Here, have some."

?!

Lin Feng chuckled and reevaluated this dragon.

Not simple at all; in this short time of transforming into a human, she's already understanding human nature, sharing, and reciprocating kindness.

She made a sincere gesture, and it wouldn't be right to refuse.

Lin Feng accepted the potato but still handed half to Red Scale, "Eat, you probably haven't had enough, right?"

Scratching her head, Red Scale earnestly said, "No, I gave it to you because I couldn't eat anymore."

...

Lin Feng felt a bit speechless for a moment, but upon careful thought, if she was full, she wouldn't have gone back to the fireplace.

"Tired, I want to sleep again." Red Scale yawned, kneeling on the sofa, eyes fixed on Lin Feng, and her thick dragon tail swaying like a whip.

"Eat and then sleep, just like a pig."

Ignoring Lin Feng, Red Scale simply burrowed into the blanket.

The two of them piled up on each other like this.

"What are you doing?"

"Tired, going to sleep." Red Scale whined a few times, using her dragon horn to poke Lin Feng.

"You're a pet; you can only sleep on the floor."

"Huh? Didn't you call me your wife before? Now I'm a pet?" Red Scale sniffed Lin Feng's chest a few times, getting even closer.

Don't know if it was unintentional or intentional.

She even used a rabbit as a weapon, rubbing all around.

"You, kid, are quite knowledgeable." Lin Feng felt this stinky dragon was not simple.

Intuition told him that Emily or Yuna must have said something they shouldn't have.

"Spill it! Did the beast ear girls teach you some weird stuff again?"

Red Scale looked confused, "Huh? What weird stuff? Nothing."

"Then what are you doing now?"

"I just feel cold in winter and wanted to snuggle together. Is that not allowed?" Her voice sounded aggrieved, "The blanket is warm, and so is the boss. It feels especially comfortable to be held while sleeping."

Is this... awakening during hibernation?

Feels a bit strange.

"I'll sleep with the boss from now on."

This... Lin Feng thought it's no big deal.

The dragon doesn't look bad either.

Whether it evolves into a wife or not doesn't matter.

Although he prefers fluffy things, Red Scale is soft to hold too.

"Boss, am I really your wife?"

"You're a kun, you used to be a real stinky dragon. Originally, I was going to kill you, but because of some fortuitous coincidence, I spared your dragon life."

"No wonder. You're gentle with everyone else, but I'm like a punching bag, always being bullied."

Red Scale suddenly squinted, as if remembering something, "And you've never fought with me, while you've fought with everyone else."

???

Lin Feng instantly understood the dragon's meaning.

"Are you staying up in the middle of the night just to peek outside the tent?"

"You were making so much noise I couldn't sleep, so I came out to see what was going on," Lin Feng replied.

Red Scale suddenly twitched nervously, wriggling on the already cramped sofa.

"What's gotten into you now?" Lin Feng asked.

"I don't know, I just... felt like doing this subconsciously," Red Scale said, gently swaying her tail.

The fireplace crackled and popped.

Lin Feng seemed to notice a clue.

"Your face is flushed," he remarked.

"Huh?"

Red Scale touched her cheek and then shook her head vigorously.

She hadn't noticed the change in herself, but Lin Feng could see shades of Yuna in her.

Could it be that the time has come?
