He Fell While High on Drugs

Seeing his friend get beaten, the other three couldn’t hold back anymore and raised their fists, charging at Lin Yu.

Facing the three of them, Lin Yu handled them like they were children—a few slaps and a couple of heavy kicks later, they were left dazed and disoriented.

After finishing the fight, Lin Yu casually brushed off his hands, which weren’t even dirty, and walked away without looking back.

That afternoon, during class, Lin Yu was called out by two people.

When he realized they were from the campus security office, his face twisted as if he’d just swallowed a fly.

Seriously?

You had the nerve to come looking for trouble, got your asses handed to you, and then ran to the school to tattle?

If you’d at least tried some other way to get back at me, I might not have looked down on you so much!

Both in his past life and this one, Lin Yu’s experience with fights had taught him one thing clearly:

Beating someone up wasn’t something you did in broad daylight.

The ideal scenario was a dark and windy night—perfect for mischief—wearing a mask, striking fast, and vanishing without a trace.

But this time was different.

Where was this?

S University!

With his connection to the fourth female lead, this place might as well be his own backyard.

Besides, there was a reason—they’d provoked him first—so Lin Yu had held nothing back.

As long as he didn’t seriously injure them, it was fine.

As he was being led away by security, Lin Yu suddenly felt a sense of déjà vu and couldn’t help but chuckle.

Back when he’d first transmigrated, wasn’t it the same? He’d beaten up Gu Yue in the hallway and was called out by the high school’s disciplinary officer.

This really felt familiar...

The smile on Lin Yu’s face didn’t last long before it faded into a bitter one, his nostalgic amusement replaced by sorrow and loneliness.

How times had changed.

Gu Yue wasn’t that bratty bully anymore.

She wasn’t by his side now...

Gazing at the lush greenery of the campus, Lin Yu forced himself not to think about that timid yet strikingly beautiful girl with delicate features.

Time would fade everything.

He’d just leave it to time.

It would handle this...

...Probably.

...

Following the two security officers to the campus security office, Lin Yu spotted the man wearing a luxury watch.

Seeing that he was the only one there, Lin Yu raised an eyebrow in mild surprise.

Then, a thought crossed his mind.

Was this guy trying to hide the existence of the other three and paint himself as the perfect victim?

Come to think of it, was there even surveillance where he’d beaten them up?

After a moment’s consideration, Lin Yu shrugged. Whatever. Let him try.

With his cheat-like advantages, what was there to fear?

Sure enough, the moment Lin Yu stepped inside, the man jumped to his feet, completely ignoring his own role in the incident and the absence of the other three, and pointed accusingly:

"Teacher, he’s the one who hit me!"

"Who hit you?"

"Are you out of your mind?"

Since the man was twisting the facts, Lin Yu played dumb outright, denying everything.

The man grew furious and jabbed a finger at him, shouting,

"On the path to the cafeteria this morning—don’t you dare say you didn’t lay a hand on me!"

Lin Yu rolled his eyes and retorted lazily,

"Don’t just throw accusations around. Got proof? Show me the surveillance footage, then."

The moment those words left Lin Yu’s mouth, the man fell silent.

If they checked the surveillance footage, it would show four people actively cornering one person. Even though the outcome was all four getting beaten up, anyone with eyes could see which side was the instigator.

In the end, the incident would only be classified as a brawl.

A brawl.

Meaning there were no truly innocent victims here.

The man wearing the luxury watch was left speechless by the retort. He instinctively glanced at the two who had brought Lin Yu in.

One of them seemed to pick up on some unspoken cue and immediately turned to glare at Lin Yu, snapping harshly:

"Watch your attitude!"

Lin Yu, now on the receiving end of the scolding, widened his eyes. After a brief moment of shock, all that remained was a fury so intense it almost made him laugh.

Oh really?

Oh really?

"Watch my attitude," huh?

Fine!

Just you wait!

Let’s see which one of us ends up needing an attitude adjustment!

The middle-aged man, nearly bald but vainly attempting to conceal it with a few strategically draped strands of hair, settled into his chair behind the desk. He took a sip of tea from the cup in front of him, set it down, and then spoke slowly:

"Alright, explain what really happened."

The man with the luxury watch shot Lin Yu a disdainful look before speaking first:

"Professor, I’ve heard many students complain that he’s been harassing and hitting on attractive female classmates all over campus."

"I thought that was unacceptable."

"It’s a terrible influence."

"So I wanted to talk to him about it."

"I ran into him this morning and tried to have a conversation."

"But he just snapped and attacked me."

"I could’ve fought back, but as a student council officer, I couldn’t stoop to his level. So I held back."

Lin Yu stayed silent the entire time the man spoke.

At first, he was annoyed, but when the guy claimed he’d refrained from fighting back out of some noble sense of duty as a student council officer, Lin Yu nearly burst out laughing.

Who knew this guy had such a sense of humor?

The balding middle-aged man nodded after hearing the full account, then turned to Lin Yu, his expression darkening as he demanded angrily:

"Do you have anything to say for yourself?"

Lin Yu knew this guy was biased—probably already bought off.

Since that was the case, Lin Yu saw no reason to play nice. Might as well muddy the waters.

"Of course I do."

Lin Yu pointed straight at the man’s nose and declared loudly:

"I never laid a finger on him."

"He’s just high out of his mind, hallucinating, and making up lies about me."

"Those injuries? He got them from falling on his face."

Lin Yu shrugged, as if stating the obvious:

"With the state he’s in from all that drug use, tripping and hurting himself is totally normal!"

The accusation of drug use sent the man into a rage. He jabbed a finger at Lin Yu and shouted:

"That’s bullshit!"

"Who’s doing drugs?!"

Lin Yu pressed forward aggressively:

"You’re not high?"

"Then prove it—go get a blood test!"

The man wasn’t stupid enough to take the bait. Instead, he fired back:

"Why should I get a blood test for you?"

"You’re the one accusing me!"

"Where’s your proof?"

Lin Yu smirked, unimpressed.

"Then where’s your proof that I hit you?"

"Show me the evidence!"

"Enough!"

The bald man from the Security Department suddenly stood up, slamming his hand on the table with a loud shout to stop the argument between the two. Then, with obvious bias, he glanced past the man and scolded Lin Yu:

"What nonsense are you spouting?"

"Do you even want to stay in this school?!"

Lin Yu narrowed his eyes, grinding his teeth silently as he stared at the furious middle-aged man.

Asking if I want to stay?

Looks like you’re the one who doesn’t want to keep this job anymore.

Just as the tension reached its peak, the door of the Security Department creaked open slowly, and a girl in a white dress drifted in like a breeze.

She seemed completely oblivious to the suffocating atmosphere in the room. First, she glanced at Lin Yu, offering him a gentle smile in greeting, then turned to the bald man and said politely:

"Hello, teacher."

Tao Yaoyao spoke softly.

Just Became Emperor, Already Assassinated by the Son of Destiny

Just Became Emperor, Already Assassinated by the Son of Destiny

e bizarre and supernatural had descended. The previous emperor was a thoroughgoing tyrant; no longer satisfied with human women, he had set his sights on a stunningly beautiful supernatural entity. He met his end in his bedchamber, drained of all his vital essence. As the legitimate eldest son and crown prince, Wang Hao was thus hastily enthroned, becoming the young emperor of the Great Zhou Dynasty. No sooner had he awakened the "Imperial Sign-In Intelligence System" than he was assassinated by a Son of Destiny—a classic villain's opening. The Great Zhou, ravaged by the former emperor's excesses, was in national decline. The great families within its borders harbored their own treacherous schemes, martial sects began to defy the imperial court's decrees, and border armies, their pay and provisions in arrears, grumbled incessantly against the central government. Fortunately, the central capital was still held secure by the half-million Imperial Guards and fifty thousand Imperial Forest Army who obeyed the court's orders, along with the royal family's hidden reserves of power, barely managing to suppress the realm. As the Great Zhou's finances worsened and supernatural activities grew ever more frequent, the court sat atop a volcano. Ambitious plotters everywhere dreamed of overthrowing the dynasty, and even some reclusive ancient powers emerged, attempting to sway the tides of the world. At the first grand court assembly, the civil and military officials nearly came to blows, fighting tooth and nail over the allocation of fifty million taels of silver from the summer tax revenues. The spectacle opened Wang Hao's eyes—the Great Zhou's bureaucracy was not only corrupt but also martially proficient, a cabinet of all-rounders. Some officials even had the audacity to suggest the emperor release funds from the imperial privy purse to address the emergency. Wang Hao suddenly felt weary. Let it all burn.
