An Unexpected Encounter with Chen Xiaolan

The group soon arrived at an enormous, spacious area—the women’s shoe section. This single shoe section alone was more than twice the size of most Louis Vuitton stores.

Su Yang glanced around and said with a smile, “Emma, pick whatever you like. Don’t be shy—I’m paying.”

“That doesn’t seem right. I can pay for myself.”

“What’s wrong with that? Look around and take whichever pair you like.”

Emma had chosen one pair of sneakers and two pairs of low-heeled sandals to wear with dresses.

Su Yang stared at them in surprise. “Wait, you spent all that time picking out only three pairs of shoes?”

“That’s enough, that’s enough. I already have plenty of shoes, so I don’t need too many more. These three pairs weren’t cheap.”

Su Yang shook his head with a smile. “All right, then. Put them on later.”

“Linda, take us over to the handbag section too.”

“Of course, Mr. Su!” Linda had assumed the two of them would leave after buying only three pairs of shoes. When she heard that they wanted to keep shopping, a smile immediately spread across her face.

Over the next several dozen minutes, Su Yang picked out two bags for himself, while buying Emma five bags, two dresses, and a gold-and-diamond necklace.

The total came to seventy-two thousand euros—roughly six hundred thousand yuan.

Although they had not bought an especially large amount, it was already a very good sale for Linda. She would earn a substantial commission from this one purchase alone.

After they paid, she personally escorted them to the entrance with a beaming smile.

“Mr. Su, Ms. Emma, we hope to see you again at Louis Vuitton.”

There was one every few dozen meters. The French really did love pizza. It was fine once in a while, but eating it every day would be unbearable.

After walking for around ten minutes, the two of them arrived at an upscale French steakhouse with a pleasant atmosphere and took a table for two by the window.

They had just finished ordering when the restaurant’s front door opened in the distance, and three people walked in—two women and one man. One of the women was slender and breathtakingly beautiful.

She wore a khaki bucket hat, while her slightly wavy black hair fell over her shoulders. Two long earrings hung from her ears. She had on a deep-V halter-style floral top, paired with a white skirt that fell below her knees, and a pair of white sneakers.

Her outfit was mainly white, making her look like a fairy who had just descended from heaven. Apart from being a little too thin and having almost no curves at her chest, every other aspect of her appearance was practically perfect.

Su Yang’s seat faced the entrance, so he spotted the three as soon as they came in. The most beautiful woman among them was Chen Xiaolan, the Chinese actress who was staying at the same hotel as him.

However, her arrival did not attract much attention. Most Europeans did not know who she was.

Su Yang did, though. He did not watch many of the new-generation actors’ dramas, but he still kept an eye on any particularly beautiful young actresses or singers.

“What are you looking at?” Emma noticed Su Yang staring motionlessly at the area behind her and turned around to take a glance.

“Nothing. That woman looks like a Chinese actress.”

“Really? Who?” Emma turned around again to look. “Oh, I know which one you mean!”

“You do?”

“Is she one of those three people?”

“Yes.”

“Then it’s obvious, isn’t it? It has to be the prettiest one. You can tell from her presence alone that she’s a celebrity.”

“You can tell whether someone’s a celebrity just by looking at them? Do you know her?”

Emma shook her head. “No. I don’t know many celebrities, except for the really famous ones.”

“Then do you think she’s prettier than you?”

At that, Emma bit her lip. “Shouldn’t I be the one asking you that? Which of us do you think is prettier?”

“You are.” Su Yang answered without the slightest hesitation.

“Really?!” Emma was so excited that she nearly jumped to her feet.

“Sit down, sit down. Don’t get so excited.”

“You really think I’m prettier than her?”

“Of course. Your styles are different, but if we’re talking purely about looks, you really are a little prettier. If you entered the entertainment industry with a face like yours, you’d absolutely become a major star.”

“Su~ You’re such a smooth talker. You’re making me blush.”

“What’s there to be embarrassed about? I’m only telling the truth.”

When it came to looks, Su Yang really was telling the truth. Emma was superior to Chen Xiaolan in both appearance and figure.

However, the difference was not very large. If he had to choose one, Chen Xiaolan’s appearance would actually be more in line with Su Yang’s personal taste.

The two of them were still talking when Chen Xiaolan and the man and woman beside her followed a waiter toward Su Yang and Emma.

“Hey, they’re coming over,” Emma said quietly when she saw them.

“So what if they are?”

“She’s a Chinese celebrity, isn’t she? Aren’t you going to ask her for an autograph?”

Su Yang laughed. “I’m not a fan. Why would I ask for her autograph?”

“Is this table all right for the three of you?” the waiter asked as he led them to a four-person table beside Su Yang and Emma.

After approaching, Chen Xiaolan casually glanced at Su Yang, who was sitting two meters away, and replied, “Sure. We’ll sit here.”

“All right. Please have a seat.”

“Sis Xiaolan, I’ll sit with you.” The slightly plump woman beside Chen Xiaolan took her hand and sat down next to her.

The man sat across from the two women. Su Yang tilted his head and looked at him.

The slightly plump woman was fairly attractive too, with a small, round face and a sweet, obedient appearance. She was probably Chen Xiaolan’s friend.

The only man among the three was probably Chen Xiaolan’s assistant or manager. He looked somewhat effeminate, and Su Yang guessed that he was gay.

The waiter set three glasses of water in front of them. When the young man picked up his glass, he held it between his thumb and middle finger, with the other fingers slightly raised.

Hearing this, Su Yang turned to look at Chen Xiaolan. The moment Chen Xiaolan realized he was looking, she immediately shifted her gaze away.

However, this was noticed by the girl sitting beside Chen Xiaolan. She hadn’t paid any attention to Su Yang before, but when she saw him now, her eyes instantly widened.

She immediately tugged at Chen Xiaolan’s skirt and whispered, “Sis Xiaolan, there’s a handsome guy!”
