You're Not in Paris Too, Are You

Although Su Yang had asked on purpose, he was still quite pleased to hear Emma say that.

The two of them chatted for a while. After finishing their coffee, Su Yang stood up. “Emma, sit here for a bit. I just played some basketball and I’m covered in sweat, so I’m going back to my room to take a shower. I’ll be down soon.”

“I’ll go with you.” Emma picked up her bag and stood as well.

“What are you coming with me for? Just sit here and rest. Once I’ve showered, we can go out and do some shopping.”

“Sitting here by myself is too boring. I’ll go up to your room and have a look around. I’ve never stayed at this hotel before.”

“Uh… all right, then. Let’s go.”

As they spoke, they headed toward the elevator lobby.

Neil appeared from who knew where. When he saw the stunning beauty walking beside Su Yang—no less attractive than a movie star—he frowned and thought, “How is it that this Su always has beautiful women around him? Isn’t this his first time in Paris?”

Su Yang didn’t notice Neil. He led Emma to the elevator lobby and pressed the button.

The elevator doors opened, and the two of them quickly stepped inside.

They soon reached the sixth floor. After exiting the elevator, Su Yang led Emma down the corridor on the left until they reached Room 608. He then took out his key card and unlocked the door.

“This is my room. Come in.” Su Yang stepped aside to let Emma enter first.

Emma didn’t stand on ceremony and walked straight in.

Su Yang followed her inside and closed the door. “Make yourself comfortable. I’m going to take a quick shower.”

Emma turned and glanced around the room with a smile. “This is actually a pretty nice room.”

“Hotel rooms are all more or less the same. There’s water on the table beside you, and there are drinks in the refrigerator over there. Help yourself to whatever you want.”

“I just had coffee, so I’m not thirsty for the moment.”

“Then sit down. I’ll leave you to it.” As he spoke, Su Yang walked over to his suitcase, opened it, and pulled out a change of clothes before entering the bathroom.

Alone in the room, Emma placed her bag on the table and then went out onto the balcony to admire the view.

Seven or eight minutes later, Su Yang finished showering and changing. Standing in front of the full-length mirror in the bathroom, he dried his hair and then casually styled it.

Ever since acquiring the system, he had basically done his own hair whenever he wasn’t getting it cut. After practicing for so long, his skills had become increasingly polished. These days, a casual tousle from him looked almost as good as anything done by a professional stylist.

Once he was finished, he pushed open the bathroom door and walked out. The moment he stepped through, he saw Emma walking toward him.

“You’re finally out. Can I use the bathroom?”

“Of course.” Su Yang stepped aside.

Emma clutched her stomach and hurried into the bathroom. Su Yang smiled, then walked over and sat on the bed. While waiting, he took out his phone and opened WeChat.

As soon as he opened it, he saw dozens of notifications under his Moments.

“Damn, so many people have commented in such a short time?”

He tapped into his Moments. There were more than ten comments and over thirty likes.

Meng Qianyu: No way!! Brother Su Yang, when did you sneak off to Paris? You didn’t even call me!!

Su Qingci: Wow!! You look so handsome!!

Liu Bo: What the hell? Holland?? Brother Yang, I’m his fan. Can you get me his autograph? I’ll buy you dinner when you get back!

Song Anquan: Good lord! Your muscles are seriously insane, bro! When are you coming back to train with me?

Qin Su: [Like]

Lu Yun: You went to Paris?

Zhuang Mengli: No matter where you are, you’re still the most handsome! [Smitten]

Su Yang shook his head and smiled when he saw Zhuang Mengli’s comment. He replied to the comments one by one, then exited his Moments and was about to switch over to Douyin for some casual scrolling.

Just then, a message came in.

Su Yang scrolled to the top of the screen, but when he saw the sender’s name, he frowned in surprise.

“Yoshie?”

That’s right. The person who had messaged him was Yoshida Yoshie, whom he had met in Japan and with whom he had shared a beautiful memory—the Japanese woman who had taken him in for two days during a typhoon and torrential rain.

Su Yang opened their chat.

Yoshie: “Su-san… I saw your Moments post. You’re in Paris now?”

Su Yang typed back: “Yeah, I just arrived today. What’s up? Don’t tell me you’re in Paris too?”

“Mm… I am in Paris…”

“What?? You’re here too?” Su Yang replied in surprise when he saw the message.

“Yes, but I’m leaving again soon.”

“Are you going back to Japan?”

“No. I came to Europe with a friend. We’ve already spent two days in Paris, and we’re about to head to Switzerland.”

“Switzerland? How long are you planning to travel around Europe?”

“Probably another six or seven days. After Switzerland, we’ll likely go to Italy or Greece. Are you traveling with friends?”

“No, I’m alone.”

“You’re traveling alone?” Yoshie asked.

“Yeah. How about this? Since we’re both in Europe, and it isn’t that big a place, I’ll come find you in a couple of days and we can hang out.”

“You… you’re going to come find me? I… I really want to see you, but I’m also a little afraid to…”

Seeing that, Su Yang scratched the side of his nose. “Why? It’s not like I’m going to eat you.”

“I…”

“Oh, right. You’re traveling with a friend, so forget it.”

“My friend is a woman. N-not a man.”

“That’s not what I meant. I just thought you came out to travel with your friend, and it wouldn’t be right for me to intrude. I didn’t think of that earlier. Sorry.”

“It’s fine. She has a very good personality… You can come find me.”

Huh? A moment ago, she’d been afraid to see him, and now it was fine?

“Then should I come or not?” Su Yang asked.

On the other end of the phone, Yoshie’s hands trembled slightly as she typed a single character: “Come!!”

Su Yang smiled when he saw it. “All right, but I need to stay in Paris for two days first. I probably won’t be able to come until the day after tomorrow.”

“That’s fine. I’ll wait for you in Switzerland.”

“Sounds good. Go enjoy Switzerland with your friend first. I’ll contact you when I get there the day after tomorrow.”

“Okay. See you then!”

After exiting the chat, Su Yang let out a breath. “I can’t believe she’s in Europe too.”

“Well, in that case, I’ll skip Monaco for now. I can go if I get the chance later.”

As he spoke, the bathroom door opened, and Emma came out.

“Finished?” Su Yang turned and asked.

“Yeah. My stomach suddenly started hurting a little. Are you ready?”

“Ready.”

“Then let’s go. I’ll take you for a walk along the Seine.”

“Sure, let’s go.”

Su Yang stood up as he answered. Emma hurried toward him, almost trotting, but after taking just two steps, one of her high heels twisted beneath her foot. Her pupils contracted, and before she even had time to scream, her entire body pitched to the side.

Su Yang reacted with lightning speed. He lunged forward and, just as Emma was about to hit the floor, grabbed her by the arm and pulled her into his embrace.

It had all happened too quickly. Emma was a carefree, rather tomboyish girl who rarely wore high heels, usually opting for flats instead.

She didn’t even own a pair of high heels. She had only borrowed this pair from her older sister because she was going to meet Su Yang.

Now, lying in Su Yang’s arms, she looked up at him. “Su, thank you.”

“Don’t thank me yet. Is your foot all right?”

“It’s nothing. These shoes just don’t fit very well.”

Hearing this, Su Yang tilted his head and looked at Emma’s feet. Sure enough, her feet were one or two centimeters shorter than the shoes—a glance was enough to tell they weren’t hers.

“What’s going on?”

“They’re my sister’s shoes. I don’t usually wear high heels. I didn’t realize I had them on when I came out just now, and I twisted my ankle when I started running.”

“If you’re not used to them, why wear them?”

“I just wanted to look as nice as possible when meeting you.”

Su Yang looked helplessly at Emma in his arms. “I’ll buy you a new pair of shoes when we go out later.”

“There’s no need.”

“You have to get a new pair. Those shoes are uncomfortable to walk in. Just make do with them for now.”

[Beep. Emma’s favorability toward the host has increased to 80. Reward: 5 million.]

For some reason, Emma’s heart suddenly began pounding. Looking at Su Yang in front of her, she raised her head and kissed him without warning.
