How Is There Room for Maneuver Again

Lin Chuxia didn’t mind at all. She smiled and nodded. “Fine, I’ll go first.”

With that, she took a tissue, held it between her lips, and turned around.

He Yuqing, seeing this, tore off half of it with her mouth and turned to face Hong Ran.

Hong Ran quickly tore off another half from that piece and turned to face Chen Yuxi.

Chen Yuxi did the same thing, then turned to face Liu Wenjing.

By now, the tissue was barely big enough. Liu Wenjing looked at it and said, “If I tear off another piece, Brother Su Yang probably won’t have much luck with this.”

Su Yang tilted his head, looked at her, and chuckled. “Tear away as much as you want. If I can’t manage, I’ll just drink.”

“Alright.” Liu Wenjing agreed and leaned closer to Chen Yuxi, using her mouth to pull off a very short strip of paper.

Seeing this, everyone burst out laughing. “Haha, Jingjing, Su Yang is probably screwed with that one.”

Liu Wenjing shot back a smug smile and turned to face Su Yang.

Looking at the tiny one-or-two-centimeter strip of paper on her lips, Su Yang scratched his nose. “You really know how to tear it, but there’s still a little room.” He then, under everyone’s gaze, leaned in close to Liu Wenjing’s face.

As Su Yang got nearer, Liu Wenjing unconsciously swallowed and felt her heartbeat quicken.

A ridiculously handsome face was that close to her own, and Liu Wenjing suddenly felt a bit nervous. She took a deep breath and instinctively shut her eyes.

Su Yang carefully reached out to bite the paper she was holding. Just as he almost made contact, he lightly clamped down on the small exposed strip and pulled off about a centimeter.

“Whoa!! Awesome, awesome! Susu, you’re probably going to have to drink, hahaha!” Hong Ran burst out laughing.

Su Yang turned to look at Qin Su and blinked.

Qin Su frowned. “This… how am I supposed to tear this thing?”

Liu Wenjing giggled. “If you don’t dare, then you can just drink~”

Hong Ran rolled his eyes and egged her on. “Just try it first. You’ll have to drink if you give up, you’ll have to drink if you touch, but what if you actually pull it off?”

“Yeah, what’s there to be afraid of? Give it a shot.” Chen Yuxi chimed in.

Qin Su didn’t actually mind touching Su Yang. She nodded and said, “Fine, but if I happen to touch you, don’t take it personally.”

Su Yang spread his hands to show he didn’t care. Inwardly, he thought, ‘Like I’d care at all.’

Qin Su took a deep breath and shifted her position, tilting her head to try to bite the paper on Su Yang’s lips.

The distance grew shorter and shorter. When there were only about two centimeters left, Qin Su noticed everyone staring at them, and suddenly she got nervous. Her head uncontrollably shot forward — their lips didn’t meet, but their noses bumped into each other first.

Thump.

Qin Su’s head dipped forward, and her forehead collided with Su Yang’s. She couldn’t help but burst out laughing at her own clumsiness.

“Pfft! Hahaha!” Qin Su laughed while holding her now-sore nose and backed away.

“Touching noses counts as a loss too!” The others burst into laughter and jeers.

Su Yang shook his head, took the paper off his lips, and said, “What’s wrong with you? Why did you headbutt me with your nose?”

Qin Su smiled sheepishly. “I don’t know, I just lost my balance and my head lunged forward.”

“Well then, drink up. One glass it is.”

“Fine.” Qin Su poured a drink and downed it in one go.

Hong Ran then said, “Let’s keep going. This time, we start from Susu’s side.”

“Okay.” Qin Su put down her cup, pulled out a fresh tissue, placed it on her lips, and continued the game.

They went on for another two rounds like this, and then Hong Ran spoke up. “Alright, this is the last one. We’ll start from Chuxia’s side, and after this round, we’ll switch games.”

“Sure.”

Just like the first time, by the time the tissue reached Liu Wenjing, almost nothing was left of it.

Liu Wenjing smiled as she stared at Su Yang and gestured with her chin for him to tear it.

Su Yang studied the angle and grinned. “Still a little room.”

Liu Wenjing thought to herself, ‘How is there still room again?

The moment Su Yang finished speaking, he quickly leaned forward, perfectly controlling the distance, and tore off a sliver of the tissue with his lips.

Liu Wenjing’s eyes widened in disbelief. “That actually worked?”

Su Yang winked and turned to face Qin Su.

Everyone else laughed and got up to look. This time, the tissue on Su Yang’s lips was even smaller than in the first round.

Qin Su was stunned. “Uh… how about I just drink?”

“Drink, nothing! Quick, see if you can pull off another miracle move.” Hong Ran shouted with a laugh.

Qin Su swallowed hard. “There’s basically no room left to even bite down on.”

“There’s still a tiny bit. It just depends on your skill.” Liu Wenjing tilted her head, looked at the paper on Su Yang’s lips, and added, “Want me to help?”

“Uh… I’ll handle it myself.” Qin Su declined without hesitation.

She leaned in close to Su Yang, tilting her head to find that last sliver of space — roughly half a centimeter to work with.

As she got closer, she could feel the warmth of their breath mingling.

Qin Su’s heart raced. Since she was going to make contact anyway, she figured she might as well go for it. She suddenly lunged forward, muscled her way in, and snatched the last tiny piece of paper right off Su Yang’s lips.

After taking it, she immediately lowered her head in embarrassment.

Seeing this, everyone froze in place.

“Holy crap? That’s allowed?” He Yuqing said, stunned.

“Hahaha, Susu, what are you doing?” Hong Ran howled with laughter.

Even Su Yang was a little taken aback. “You straight up just grabbed it?”

He touched his lips as he spoke. Liu Wenjing pointed at Qin Su and called out, “Susu, you’re breaking the rules! You’re supposed to tear off a piece, not take the whole thing. Drink!”

“Fine, fine, I’ll drink. Big deal.” Qin Su raised her head and poured a glass. Her face had visibly turned red.

She downed the drink in one gulp, then slumped back onto the sofa. “I’m done with this game. Let’s switch.”

“Alright, let’s do something more standard. We’ll split into teams and play finger guessing, but the losers don’t just drink — they also have to face a penalty.”

“What kind of penalty?”

“Simple: Truth or Dare.”

“Fine, but no overly intrusive questions, alright?” Chen Yuxi said.

“Well, if you can’t answer or you’re too embarrassed to answer, you can switch to a dare.”

“You’re not going to make someone go to the next booth and have a drink or sing a song or something, are you? That’s way too mortifying.”

Hong Ran laughed. “No, I’ll set a rule: everything happens right here in our booth.”

“That works.”

“OK, anyone else have any objections?”

Everyone shook their heads.

“Good, let’s start splitting up.” Hong Ran looked at Liu Wenjing and said, “Jingjing, let’s do finger guessing to pick our teammates.”

“Sure, but there are only seven of us, so one side will have one fewer person.”

“Doesn’t really matter. Su Yang’s the only guy, so whoever gets him has three people. What do you all think?” Hong Ran asked the group.

Su Yang nodded. “I’m fine with it.”

“Me too.”

“Then let’s go.”
