Let me hold you

Su Yang mixed six cocktails, each with a different style.

The two of them sat at the bar, sipping drinks and chatting.

As the alcohol kept hitting her, Qin Su gradually became more talkative. Amid laughter and cheerful conversation, the six drinks were quickly finished again.

“All gone~” Qin Su said, shaking her empty glass.

“It’s mainly because the glasses are too small.”

“Then why don’t we just drink whiskey directly? That way, you don’t have to keep mixing.”

“Sounds good.” Su Yang got up, walked behind the bar, grabbed an unopened bottle of whiskey, and sat back down beside Qin Su.

He opened the bottle, took two glasses, and poured the drinks.

“How’s your tolerance?” Su Yang turned to look at Qin Su and asked.

“Pretty good. I drink often on my own, so don’t worry about me.”

“Alright, but pace yourself. Don’t get drunk.”

“Relax, I won’t get drunk.”

“Okay, then let’s go for it!”

They clinked glasses and downed half of their drinks in one gulp.

“Suddenly, I feel like something’s missing,” Qin Su said, thinking for a moment.

“What?”

“Something to snack on. Drinking straight feels a bit harsh. Let me grab some snacks. Wait for me.” Qin Su hopped off the bar stool and ran toward the living room.

Two minutes later, she came jogging back carrying a bag of snacks.

Inside the bag were things like five-spice peanuts and beef jerky.

Su Yang poured everything onto the bar and laughed. “Nice, all perfect choices to go with drinks.”

“Haha, I don’t really drink baijiu, but having little snacks with other drinks is pretty great, so I always keep some around.”

“Good stuff, here you go.” Su Yang grabbed a handful of beef jerky and peanuts and set them in front of Qin Su.

They continued drinking, and time flew by. Before they knew it, two hours had passed.

A whole 700-milliliter bottle of whiskey was drained completely. Qin Su’s tolerance really was impressive—her face was only slightly flushed, at a mild buzz, still far from being drunk.

Of course, Su Yang had drunk most of that bottle.

At twelve ten in the morning, staring at the empty bottle, Su Yang smiled and said, “Susu, we’ve had enough to drink. How about we call it a night?”

“We’re done already?” Qin Su said, resting her chin on her hand.

“It’s already past midnight. You don’t still want to drink, do you? One more glass, and you might get drunk.”

“It’s fine. My face is just a little red, but I’m nowhere near drunk. Let’s have half a bottle more.”

“We’ve still got the competition tomorrow. I think we should stop. I should probably get going too.”

“Going? Where?” Qin Su sat up straight and asked.

“I’ll find a hotel to sleep in. Where else?”

“You… you can sleep here. It’s not like I only have one room.”

“Sleep here? That’s a bit awkward…”

“Oh, what’s awkward about it? I invited you all the way from Seacity to Magic City to help me out. I have to make sure you sleep somewhere comfortable. No five-star hotel outside can compare to the comfort here.”

Su Yang smiled and said, “That’s true. But are you sure you want me to stay here?”

“Of course I’m sure. I have plenty of rooms. Later, you can just pick one to sleep in.”

“Alright, I won’t leave then.”

“Hehe, since you’re staying, how about half a bottle more?”

Su Yang looked at Qin Su and gave a helpless chuckle. “Fine. If you want to drink, I’ll drink with you.”

He went and grabbed another bottle of whiskey, and they started drinking again.

By one thirty in the morning, they’d agreed on just half a bottle, but the more Qin Su drank, the more excited she got, and the second bottle was almost empty.

She had moved past a buzz and was starting to get really foggy.

Su Yang was a little better off—just slightly more than buzzed.

Even though it wasn’t baijiu, whiskey at 43 proof was still hard liquor.

Without cheating, even he couldn’t handle too much.

Qin Su was about to pour another glass, but Su Yang reached out and grabbed her hand. “Susu, no more. You’re already drunk.”

“I’m not drunk.”

“You’re not drunk yet? You’re already swaying. Don’t argue. Come on, let me help you to your room to rest.”

“I still want to drink~” Qin Su started acting cute, now that she was tipsy.

Su Yang stopped her firmly. “Really, no more. If you keep going, you’ll pass out. Come on.”

He stood up and pulled Qin Su down from the bar stool.

She jumped off instinctively, but she lost her balance and stumbled into Su Yang’s arms.

“See? You can’t even stand straight, and you still want to drink. Hurry up. Where’s your room?”

Qin Su shook her head and mumbled, “Up… upstairs.”

“Alright, take it slow. I’ll help you back to rest.”

Su Yang supported Qin Su and walked toward the living room. They went around the living room to the S-shaped stairway on the other side that led to the second floor.

Qin Su leaned on Su Yang and said, “You don’t need to help me. I can go up myself.”

“You can’t even walk straight on flat ground. How are you going to make it up the stairs?”

“It’s fine, I’ve got this.” She grabbed the stair railing and started climbing.

As she went up a few steps, Su Yang, standing below, caught some glimpses of hidden scenery.

“Holy…”

Just as he was about to follow, Qin Su’s hand slipped, her foot slid, and she let out a cry as she fell backward.

Quick to react, Su Yang rushed forward and caught the falling Qin Su in his arms.

Thump!

Ah!

Qin Su’s head smacked into Su Yang’s nose. Instinctively, she turned around and wrapped her arms around him.

“Ow… damn, that almost made me tear up.”

“S… sorry. My legs just gave out suddenly.”

“It’s okay. I told you, you couldn’t make it. I’ll carry you.”

Not bothering to wait for her agreement, Su Yang scooped Qin Su up in a bridal carry and started up the stairs.

At this, Qin Su’s heartbeat sped up instantly.

She wrapped her arms around Su Yang’s neck, rested her head against his chest, and said nothing, overcome by shyness.

Carrying Qin Su, he quickly reached the second floor.

Her house had three bedrooms on the first floor and two on the second, plus a study and a huge balcony.

Su Yang looked around and asked, “Which is your room?”

“Inside.” Qin Su pointed to the left.

He carried her toward the spacious area on the left. When they reached the end, there were hallways on both sides. He asked again, “Which way now?”

“Right.”

“Got it.”

After walking down the hallway, they came to a bedroom door.

Su Yang reached out with one hand, pushed the door open, carried Qin Su inside, and turned on the light to reveal a very large suite.

Just inside the door on the left was a long, oversized walk-in closet. On both sides were display cases that looked like they belonged in a luxury store, filled with beautiful clothes and expensive handbags.

Without looking too closely, Su Yang carried Qin Su forward. Past the closet, they entered the sleeping area, where a huge 2.2-meter bed lay before them.

He walked to the bed and set Qin Su down. “Alright, get some rest. I’ll sleep downstairs.”

“Okay, thank you for everything.” Qin Su was groggy, but still looked a bit shy.

“It’s nothing. You should rest now.”

“I’ll head down.” Su Yang turned and walked out.
