You have so much energy

After both passengers fastened their seatbelts, Su Yang drove out slowly.

The weather today was indeed pleasant—around 28 degrees Celsius, sunny and bright—perfect for taking a couple of girls out for a spin.

Especially when those girls were exceptionally good-looking.

Initially, he had thought bringing them along might be a hassle, but now, glancing at the two stunning beauties in the rearview mirror, any trace of impatience had completely vanished.

Su Yang smiled faintly and accelerated, leaving the Qianshan Peninsula villa district behind.

It was August 8th, a Thursday, just past noon. Once the car left the city limits, the road opened up, with very little traffic.

Su Yang picked up speed slightly. There was no denying it—a luxury car was a luxury car. The driving experience of the Bentayga was truly superb, offering a smooth and comfortable ride, with excellent feedback from both the chassis and suspension.

Though the Aston Martin was also a high-end model, and both brands were considered top-tier in the luxury car market, the DBX707 was positioned as a high-performance SUV, while the Bentayga emphasized premium comfort and opulence. Between the two, Su Yang still preferred the Bentayga.

‘This car swap was definitely the right move.’

As the scenery flashed by outside the window, Pan Ning asked, "Why the sudden interest in buying a house in the suburbs?"

Su Yang thought for a moment before replying, "I’ve always had a soft spot for rural life. After spending too much time in the bustling city, I like to retreat to somewhere scenic for a few days to unwind."

Pan Ning smiled faintly. "Lianwu Lake is really nice. I’ve been there a few times—the scenery there looks straight out of a Japanese manga."

"Right? That’s exactly what I thought too. That’s why I chose that area."

"So, are you planning to buy a place outright, or…?"

Su Yang chuckled. "I’m planning to tear it all down and rebuild from scratch."

Pan Ning was taken aback. "That sounds like a lot of trouble."

"Not at all. I don’t have much else going on anyway. Might as well design a little courtyard exactly to my taste."

"You’ve got so much energy~"

At this point, Meng Qianyu chimed in, "I think Su Yang’s idea is really cool!"

"See? Once it’s done, you guys can come over anytime—have some tea, grow some flowers, do a bit of fishing. Doesn’t that sound like the perfect life?"

"Can’t wait!" Meng Qianyu’s eyes sparkled with excitement, clearly genuinely interested.

Pan Ning then asked, "By the way, is your villa ready to move into yet?"

"You mean Jingyutai?"

"Mm-hmm."

"Yeah, it’s ready. After we check out Lianwu Lake today, I’ll head over to the villa to see what’s missing and start shopping for furnishings."

Hearing this, Meng Qianyu asked again, "Su Yang, is this a new place you bought?"

"Yep. These days, he’s either buying cars or houses," Pan Ning teased.

"Can we come with you to see your new place later?"

Su Yang grinned. "Of course! You’re always welcome."

"Awesome!"

The group chatted idly as they drove, soon arriving at the villages near Lianwu Lake.

This area was part of Jiangyue District, a town called Lianwu Lake Town, surrounded by numerous small villages.

Almost every household here had its own small standalone "villa"—though in reality, they were just well-built private homes.

However, compared to most towns in Jiangyue District, Lianwu Lake Town had a higher GDP per capita—in other words, the people here were wealthier.

Every house was beautifully constructed, a far cry from the traditional, older-style homes Su Yang had seen in Yangcheng’s rural areas.

The villages were immaculately clean, with spotless roads, and the scenery only grew more picturesque the closer they got to the lake.

Su Yang drove into one of the villages, each with its own distinct name. His destination today was a lakeside village called Huacun (Painting Village), still about three kilometers away according to the GPS.

Meng Qianyu pressed her face against the window, admiring the passing houses. "These little homes are so pretty!"

"Right? Don’t let the ‘village’ label fool you—the people here are quite well-off. They live almost like they’re in paradise."

"It’s so nice. I kind of want to buy a place here too!"

"No need. Once my place is done, you can come visit anytime. It’s not far anyway."

"Deal!"

Following the wide, smooth road deeper in, they soon left the first village and reached a long, straight lakeside path.

The view opened up dramatically. Through the windshield, they could see willow trees lining both sides of the road, their emerald-green branches swaying in the breeze.

To the left, beyond the sidewalk, stretched a vast expanse of flat rice fields. To the right lay the shimmering, ink-painting-like waters of Lianwu Lake.

"Wow! This place is gorgeous!!" Meng Qianyu exclaimed, pressing her phone against the window to take pictures.

Pan Ning remarked dryly, "I brought you here once before. Why so excited now?"

"That was ages ago! I barely remember it. But now, it reminds me so much of this little town near Edinburgh where I used to visit when I was studying."

Su Yang glanced over with a smile. "Oh, so you studied in the UK?"

"Yep, in Scotland. Didn’t my sister tell you?"

"Nope." Su Yang chuckled and turned back to the road. "But this place really is prettier than the last time I came."

Whoosh—whoosh—

As they spoke, a few oncoming cars sped past.

Soon, Su Yang reached the end of the road and turned right at the intersection as directed by the GPS.

After driving a short distance, they entered another small village.

Their destination was just ahead now.

To the left were the houses of Huacun; to the right, Lianwu Lake still stretched endlessly.

A few minutes later, Su Yang turned left onto a narrow lane and parked the car by the roadside.

"We’re here. Let’s get out."

"Roger that!"

The three stepped out of the car, with Pan Ning supporting Meng Qianyu, whose foot hadn’t fully healed yet.

Su Yang looked around. The houses here were spaced generously apart, each about ten meters from the next.

The only question was whether any of the owners would be willing to sell.

He walked to Meng Qianyu’s other side, helping Pan Ning support her as the trio strolled slowly down the road.

"So, how do you plan to buy?" Pan Ning asked, slightly puzzled.

Su Yang shook his head. "Not sure yet. Today’s just a scouting trip—checking out the environment. So far, I’m really impressed."

"But what if no one’s selling?"

"No rush. Let’s walk around first. Worst case, I’ll just offer more money."

"Are you some kind of nouveau riche or what? ‘Just offer more money’?"

"Well, if nobody’s selling, overpaying might be the only option."

"Fine, whatever. It’s your money~"
