Bored, I want to see a bloodbath

The Blood of Cain?

Lin Mo stroked his chin. This setting matched the prestige of the Philosopher's Stone quite well, and it also fit Lin Mo's stereotype of it.

However, Lin Mo's divine sense did not detect the existence of this Philosopher's Stone. It must have been hidden.

Perhaps it really was in the hands of that professor named Lin Huaimin.

"Besides you, who else came?"

"They are all agents from Secret Intelligence Division Ten. There are three more in total: Cam, who excels in cloning techniques; Akabe, who can completely erase energy; and Liu·Su, who uses wind blades."

Liu·Su?

A Chinese name?

Interesting.

"Did they all go to Yixian University?"

"Yes, according to the mission, they must find the Philosopher's Stone."

Lin Mo deactivated the formation and immediately rushed toward Yixian University under the cover of invisibility.

System: Boring! I want to see rivers of blood!

Over at Yixian College.

Liu Zheng hung up the phone and put it away with a grim expression.

"Lin Mo caught a vampire on his end, but they came as a team,"

he kept his voice very low, yet it conveyed an undeniable sense of urgency. "The agents of Secret Intelligence Division Ten are on their way."

Xia Zhi and Old Bai beside him understood implicitly. Almost simultaneously, they flicked off their gun safeties, producing crisp, faint clicks.

The sound was barely audible in the empty campus, but it was enough to instantly tense the nerves of the three.

In everyone's pocket was the Five Thunder Talisman Lin Mo had given them earlier; that was their final trump card.

"Listen, although we still have the protective jade pendants Lin Mo gave us, remember not to push yourselves too hard, but we must take them out with lightning speed."

Meaning, there was no need to leave them alive.

The implication was to shoot to kill.

After all, Lin Mo had already taken down their strongest combatant. All they needed to do was completely pull out the remaining nails.

The summer campus was empty, with only a few students studying for postgraduate exams or staying behind to work. This provided natural cover for their operation.

At the very least, they didn't have to worry about causing widespread panic, and the backup forces from Yanhuang Awakening would have an easier time cleaning up the mess later.

This had already given them a lot of convenience.

"Backup is on the way, but until they arrive, we must hold this place."

Liu Zheng issued the final order:

"The target now is Lin Huaimin's location!"

The three said no more. Moving like cheetahs, they darted through the tree-lined paths, heading straight for the archaeology laboratory.

The central campus of Yixian College had a long history, with every brick and tile exuding ancient charm. This also meant they had to be extra careful during their operation to avoid causing damage.

They had already confirmed the location of the laboratory long ago.

The most important thing was to find the Philosopher's Stone. Even if they didn't have it, they had to create the illusion that they did to draw all the enemy fire.

The laboratory door was pushed open.

A strong smell wafted out from inside, a peculiar scent mixed with chemicals and old paper.

Inside the spacious laboratory, there were only two figures wearing spotless white coats. With their backs turned, they were concentrating on operating something.

On the lab bench in front of them, a torn page of an ancient book was slowly being soaked in a three percent calcium hydroxide solution.

Their movements were incredibly gentle, as if handling a newborn baby.

Liu Zheng frowned, took a step forward, and asked in a deep voice, "Excuse me, which of you is Professor Lin Huaimin?"

Silence.

The two acted as if they hadn't heard, remaining focused on the work in their hands without even turning their heads.

One of them even slowly and methodically used tweezers to carefully lift the soaked page out of the solution, the gentle pace maddeningly slow.

Seeing that no one spoke, Liu Zheng stepped forward to look at their faces. Without looking back, one of them raised a hand to block Liu Zheng's path.

Liu Zheng knew time was of the essence, but he didn't dare to get physical directly. After all, these items were national treasures.

However, he couldn't wait any longer. He waited for the moment when one of them moved his hands away from the soaking area, and immediately reached out to pin him down.

The person wore a mask, obscuring his face.

But Liu Zheng still asked, "Please tell me, who is Professor Lin Huaimin?"

The person pointed to the other white coat who was still lifting the book page, and then spoke, "Professor Lin is very busy. What do you need?"

Liu Zheng didn't bother wasting any more words. He directly flashed his badge, the metal emblem reflecting a cold light under the lamp.

He put away the badge, turned to face Professor Lin Huaimin, who was wearing reading glasses and exuded a scholarly aura, and spoke in an unquestionable tone.

"A very serious incident has occurred. This area needs to be evacuated immediately. Professor Lin, please come with us right now."

Finally, Lin Huaimin, who had been engrossed in his restoration work, looked up. He adjusted his glasses, his cloudy eyes full of stubbornness.

"No."

His voice wasn't loud, but it was exceptionally firm.

"I still have a few rare manuscripts left to restore. I must finish them today, or all my previous efforts will be wasted."

Lin Huaimin raised his withered hand, seemingly wanting to quote some classics to argue his case and prove that these ancient books were more important than his life.

Old Bai behind Liu Zheng curled his lips and muttered in a voice only the two of them could hear, "I told you dealing with these old pedants is the most exhausting. You can't reason with them."

Without waiting for Lin Huaimin to speak again, Liu Zheng and Old Bai exchanged a glance. They moved in from the left and right, directly grabbing Lin Huaimin's frail arms.

"There will be other opportunities, Professor Lin."

Liu Zheng's voice was kept very low, but it carried an irresistible force. "Provided you're still alive. Leave the rest to your student to handle. If you don't leave now, you might not be able to leave in the next second!"

Lin Huaimin was lifted up, his feet almost off the ground, while he kept shouting, "My books! My books!"

However, a sudden change occurred the moment they were about to step out of the laboratory door.

Bang!

The side glass window suddenly shattered. A black cylindrical object spun as it flew in, landing heavily on the floor in the center of the laboratory with a sharp clatter.

Thick smoke immediately poured out.

Old Bai was the first to react. Just as he was about to rush over and kick the smoke grenade away, it suddenly detonated.

It brought a strong stun effect.

Fortunately, Old Bai still had his protective jade pendant; otherwise, this sneaky smoke grenade would have left him deaf for a while.

Almost at the exact same moment the smoke grenade went off, a dark silhouette rushed in like a ghost through the forced-open laboratory door.

Old Bai raised his hand and fired a shot.

"Bang!"

The bullet accurately pierced the body rushing at the front, and a gun clattered to the ground.

Bizarrely, the person shot did not bleed or fall. The body rapidly turned transparent and insubstantial in the air, like a sand painting blown away by the wind, until it completely dissipated.

It was a cloning technique!
