Not Making Decisions for Others

Sunday afternoon.

"Sister Xin, I'm heading out!" Cai Junhuang put down the things in her hands and called out toward the inside.

"Alright, be careful on the way, Caicaizi!"

"I told you not to call me Caicaizi!" Cai Junhuang waved her small fist angrily and turned to leave.

She walked to the elevator lobby. Just as she pressed the button, the glass door opposite her, printed with "Lidi Models," was pushed open from the inside.

With a ding, a pair of silver stilettos stepped out first.

The newcomer wore a well-tailored business suit and exquisite makeup. It was exactly that female model they had met last time, the one who had wanted to squeeze Lin Mo's muscles.

Behind her followed a young assistant carrying a bag, shadowing her every step.

The female model's gaze swept over, pausing on Cai Junhuang for two seconds. The corners of her mouth curled up slightly, her smile carrying a hint of scrutiny.

"It's you."

Cai Junhuang quietly stepped back half a pace to make room for them to wait for the elevator. Wearing a standard smile, she nodded without saying a single extra word.

The elevator doors slid open, and the three of them walked in.

The metal car slowly descended, its mirrored walls reflecting three silent figures.

"That classmate of yours," the female model suddenly spoke, breaking the silence, "is he interested in coming to our company to give it a try?"

Cai Junhuang knew very well that this person was after Lin Mo. She had nothing to talk about with the people from this company, so she directly shook her head.

"My classmate is ranked first in the whole school. His ambitions don't lie there."

The implication was that a top student wouldn't look favorably upon their industry.

The female model raised an eyebrow slightly. She didn't seem surprised; instead, she found it even more interesting.

"So he's a top student. That really is a pity."

She said it was a pity, but her hands were moving. She took a business card from her handbag and handed it over. "However, I still hope you can give me his contact information."

Underneath the business card was a red hundred-yuan bill.

"This is for your trouble. There will be more after it's done."

That red paper bill looked exceptionally glaring under the bright lights.

Cai Junhuang's brows instantly furrowed.

A hundred yuan? What kind of person did she take her for?

She extended two fingers and precisely pulled away the thin cardstock, leaving the hundred-yuan bill resting alone in the other party's palm.

"If he doesn't agree, don't come bothering me again."

Her voice wasn't loud, but it carried a chilling tone.

Ding.

The elevator arrived at the first floor.

Cai Junhuang walked out without looking back.

The elevator doors slowly closed. The assistant looked at the unaccepted money in Sister Wei's hand and asked in a low voice, "Sister Wei, this little girl has quite a temper. Why don't you just go directly to that boy?"

"What do you know." Sister Wei pulled her hand back and stuffed the money into her bag, that determined smile reappearing on her face.

"With this kind of top-tier prey, you can't just charge in blindly. That female classmate of his is the best breakthrough point. Giving her a little money to whisper in his ear is a hundred times better than us going to his door and getting shut out."

She glanced at the assistant. "Besides, the more someone looks like they have backbone, the more they might secretly lack money. This hundred yuan is a hook. It'll be enough to keep her tossing and turning all night when she gets back."

"Brilliant, truly brilliant!" the assistant hastily flattered.

Walking out of the building and being hit by the hot wind outside, Cai Junhuang finally felt the anger in her heart subside a little.

She opened her palm. The edges of the business card printed with the name "Wei Na" had already been pinched until they curled slightly.

Trying to buy her off with a hundred yuan?

She really wanted to tear this trashy business card to shreds on the spot and throw it back in that woman's face.

It was just that...

Thinking of Lin Mo, her motion to tear up the card hesitated.

Anyone who had attended the parent-teacher meetings knew that Lin Mo was on his own now. Tuition, living expenses, weren't they all mountains pressing down on him? Although he never mentioned it, Cai Junhuang knew his life definitely wasn't easy.

This opportunity might be a misguided path to others, but for Lin Mo, could it be a shortcut that allowed him to catch his breath?

Cai Junhuang scratched her hair in frustration and still stuffed the business card into her pocket.

Tearing it up was easy, but what if Lin Mo needed it? She still had to ask for his own opinion.

As she was walking, feeling upset and distracted, something cold suddenly pressed against her cheek.

"Ah!" Cai Junhuang was startled and abruptly turned her head.

Fang Jun was holding up an unopened ice cream bar, smiling in a highly punchable way.

"What are you doing here alone, brooding with such deep bitterness? Here, let me help you cool down."

Saying that, he handed the ice cream over.

"Fang Jun? Do you not make any sound when you walk!" Cai Junhuang rolled her eyes at him in annoyance, but she still took the ice cream.

"It's because you were thinking too deeply, okay."

Fang Jun had another already opened ice cream bar in his hand. He took a big lick himself and said indistinctly, "Came out to get some fresh air on the weekend, eat a popsicle, and get ready to roll back to school for evening self-study."

Cai Junhuang swept a glance behind him. "Where's your conjoined twin, An Yuexin? How could you bear to separate today?"

At the mention of this, Fang Jun immediately put on the weathered expression of an old father, looked up at the sky at a forty-five-degree angle, and let out a long sigh.

"Sigh, boys can't be kept at home when they grow up. That kid values girls over humanity, prioritizes lust over friendship. He already went on a date with a chick from Class Fifteen."

"Mai Chuwen?" Cai Junhuang remembered.

"Exactly." Fang Jun took another bite of his ice cream, his gaze falling on the hand Cai Junhuang was just using to pinch the business card. "Huh, what are you clutching in your hand?"

Cai Junhuang subconsciously wanted to hide it, but it was already too late.

She simply took the business card out.

Fang Jun leaned over to take a look and was amused. "Lidi Models? Wei Na? Isn't this the boss of that modeling agency from last time? Trying to poach you again?"

"Poach me?"

Cai Junhuang sneered. "They don't think much of me now. What they have their eyes on is still our study god, Lin Mo. They shoved a hundred yuan at me, asking me to get his contact info."

"And then? Did you take it?" Fang Jun raised an eyebrow.

"Am I crazy? I pulled the business card away and didn't take the money."

Hearing this, Fang Jun laughed out loud and gave her a thumbs up. "Beautifully done! But you're also wasting your effort."

He waved his hand. "Don't even ask, Old Mo definitely won't go. Last time, he had me tear up the business card from this small company without even looking at it. It's not like you didn't see it."

"I know there's a high probability he won't go."

Cai Junhuang stuffed the business card back into her pocket, but her expression became a bit more serious. "But I think it's best to let him decide for himself. I'm not willing to make decisions for others."

"I get it, you're afraid you'll take the blame if you tear it up. Don't worry, I, Fang Jun, will help you shoulder the blame."

Cai Junhuang opened her ice cream and took a bite.

"I don't need you to shoulder it, just let Lin Mo bear it himself. But that woman doesn't look like a good person."

Fang Jun glanced at Cai Junhuang. "You should be a little careful. The place where you practice dance is still right opposite their company."

"Tch, it's not like I'm going to be a model."

The two of them continued chatting like this as they walked toward the school.
