Principal Huang always felt that the names Bai Yuyou and Ye Shuang sounded somewhat familiar. After a moment of thought, he picked up his phone from the desk and called the HR department. The call was answered shortly.

"Principal Huang, how may I assist you?"

"Little Hua, could you check when the school nurse named Ye Shuang joined the academy?"

"Ye Shuang? One moment, please." The sound of keyboard typing came through the phone, and soon, HR responded, "He joined this year, and... it was arranged by Miss An Shi."

"An Shi."

Principal Huang suddenly understood. As the principal of Yinshan Academy, he naturally knew of Miss An Shi—after all, there weren’t many people with the surname An Shi in the entire school.

"Do you have his contact information? Could you reach out to him and ask if he has time to come to the third principal’s office?"

"Of course, Principal Huang. I’ll get back to you shortly."

"Alright."

After hanging up, about ten minutes later, HR sent a message.

HR Little Hua: Principal Huang, I’ve contacted Nurse Ye. He said he’ll come over now.

Principal Huang: Good.

After waiting in his office for a while, Principal Huang soon heard a knock on the door. He quickly stood up—

"Hello."

"Come in."

The person who entered was none other than Ye Shuang. He had just been playing basketball, and though class was almost over, HR had suddenly contacted him, saying Principal Huang wanted to see him.

Yinshan Academy had several principals and vice-principals. When Ye Shuang had previously stood up for Bai Yuyou and confronted Wu Ya, he had interacted with one of the principals—but not Principal Huang.

"Hello, Principal Huang. I’m Ye Shuang," he introduced himself.

"Ah, Ye Shuang. Please, have a seat." Principal Huang gestured for him to sit and even poured him a cup of tea.

Ye Shuang accepted the tea, slightly puzzled by the principal’s hospitality. Was this about the incident with the mother and daughter who had spread rumors?

After sitting down, Principal Huang suddenly asked, "How has Miss An Shi been lately?"

Miss An Shi?

Ye Shuang took a sip of tea, his expression unchanged. Was Principal Huang inquiring about An Shiyu?

No wonder he was being so polite. Given Principal Huang’s position and An Shiyu’s status, it seemed he wanted Ye Shuang to act as a bridge for some favor.

Little did Ye Shuang know, he was completely off track—he would never have guessed that someone had reported him through the principal’s mailbox.

"An Shiyu has been doing fine," Ye Shuang replied with a smile, leaving it at that.

Hearing Ye Shuang refer to An Shiyu so casually, Principal Huang nodded in understanding and finally got to the point. "Well, the thing is, I received a complaint letter in my mailbox."

A complaint letter?

"Here, take a look at the contents." Principal Huang pulled up the letter on his phone and showed it to Ye Shuang.

Ye Shuang glanced at it, then narrowed his eyes slightly.

Well, well.

Luo Che?

Recalling the class’s sports committee member from earlier, Ye Shuang checked the time of the complaint and realized this guy had written the letter right after warm-up exercises, accusing him of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Why?

Because Bai Yuyou had been too affectionate? Or was there some history between Bai Yuyou and Luo Che?

But Luo Che probably didn’t know that school nurses weren’t technically teachers—they were classified as school staff and didn’t enjoy the same privileges as educators.

Most people addressed Ye Shuang as "teacher" out of courtesy, a common practice in schools when referring to adults.

More importantly, Ye Shuang was essentially Bai Yuyou’s guardian.

This complaint was as absurd as reporting a pair of siblings for dating just because they seemed close.

"You see, perhaps there’s been some misunderstanding?" Principal Huang asked with a smile, noticing Ye Shuang’s slight frown. "If it’s a misunderstanding, I can help mediate."

"It is indeed a misunderstanding. Bai Yuyou is like family to me—I’m her guardian. Our closeness might have been misinterpreted by someone with ulterior motives."

"I see. Just as I thought—a simple misunderstanding." Principal Huang nodded, though he didn’t particularly care whether Ye Shuang’s explanation was true. His gesture was merely a way to curry favor.

After all, the identity of the complainant in the principal’s mailbox was confidential.

"No need to trouble yourself, Principal Huang. I’ll handle this matter myself."

"Ah, very well."

"Then I’ll take my leave."

"Of course."

After leaving the office, Ye Shuang returned to the sports field.

Class was nearly over, and the students needed to gather one last time for attendance before being dismissed to shower. The process wouldn’t take long.

"Alright, everyone, gather up," Ye Shuang called, and the students quickly assembled.

His gaze swept over the group before settling on Luo Che.

At that moment, Luo Che happened to meet Ye Shuang’s eyes. His heart skipped a beat—guilt weighed heavily on him, and he immediately looked away.

But then he reminded himself that the principal’s mailbox protected the complainant’s identity, and he relaxed slightly.

The principal probably hadn’t even seen the letter yet. Why was he so nervous?

"Luo Che," Ye Shuang called out.

Though Luo Che had reassured himself, hearing his name made his heart race again. "Y-yes? What is it?"

"Why so nervous?" Ye Shuang asked with an amused smile. "I’m not into guys."

The class burst into laughter, and Luo Che’s expression turned awkward.

"Help me gather everyone for dismissal."

"O-okay." Luo Che exhaled in relief—clearly, Ye Shuang had no idea about the complaint.

Once attendance was taken and class officially ended, Ye Shuang checked the time on his phone.

"Alright, everyone, go shower and get ready for your next class."

To Ye Shuang, Luo Che was no different from any other student who tattled out of immaturity. Retaliating immediately would be beneath him—instead, he was more curious about what might have happened between Luo Che and Bai Yuyou.

After class, Bai Yuyou immediately approached him. "Ye Shuang..."

"Come with me to the nurse’s office," Ye Shuang said.

"Okay..." Bai Yuyou’s eyes brightened. She had only wanted to spend a little more time with him between classes, but now he was taking her back to his office.

"Keke, do you want to come too?" Ye Shuang asked.

"Me?" Tang Keke thought for a moment before grinning. "I’m all sweaty—I think I’ll shower first."
