“Xia Lun, what are you thinking about?”
Aina lay in Xia Lun’s arms, lazily rolling over before stretching with a soft, lovely moan.
“Xia Yi should be fine, right?” Xia Lun couldn’t help asking.
“What could possibly be wrong with him? The boy’s plenty strong. No one in his class could bully him.” Aina idly toyed with the buttons on Xia Lun’s shirt. “He’s learned your swordsmanship, my blood arts, and Liyana’s archery quite well, too. We never expected him to learn much magic at Oliphando. We just wanted him to spend more time around people his own age.”
“Really? I thought you just wanted him out of the way.” Xia Lun smiled and playfully flicked her nose.
“How would he be in the way? He’s grown up already. It’s not as if he’ll make a fuss about sleeping with us anymore.” Aina yawned.
The ship’s temperature-control system really was a marvelous thing. It was always so comfortable inside.
As the saying went, warmth and a full stomach naturally led to certain thoughts.
Aina’s gaze gradually grew hazy and intent, like that of a nocturnal predator locking onto its prey. She slowly traced the contours of Xia Lun’s profile with her eyes—from his slightly furrowed brows, to his alluring eyes, to his sharply defined jaw.
Xia Lun was still staring absently at the scenery outside the ship. The entire wall before them had turned transparent, revealing the beautiful planet beneath their feet.
No matter how many times he looked at it, the planet gave him a new feeling every time.
At that moment, the ship hovered in the planet’s orbit, slowly circling their world and ready to depart at any time.
“Serry.” Aina suddenly lifted her head and called into the air, her voice softer and more languid than usual.
“I’m here.” Serry’s pleasant electronic voice came from somewhere nearby.
“Activate the starfield projection. Full panoramic mode. Initiate localized optical camouflage, while retaining the furniture configuration set earlier.”
“Executing command.”
The room’s sleek, silver-white, high-tech walls began to change. Like rippling water, countless tiny points of light and patches of color appeared and rapidly spread outward.
“Activating full panoramic mode… Starfield projection initiated.”
In an instant, the transformation was complete. The walls, ceiling, and floor had vanished entirely. It was as though they were floating directly in the silent vacuum of space, with nothing between them and the void. Beneath their feet, the radiant planet turned slowly, while an endless sea of stars surrounded them on every side. The profound darkness made the brilliance of countless points of light all the more dazzling.
The wardrobe, tables, chairs, and all the other furnishings in the room had also concealed their forms. Only the large bed remained exactly as it was.
“All right. Now block all attempts to detect anything in this room. Until I leave and issue a new command, you are not to observe us, either.”
“Yes, Master Aina.” Serry’s voice gradually faded away.
It had carried out the same command countless times before.
Flames sprang to life across Aina’s body, sliding silently over her figure and revealing her graceful curves.
“Please me, Xia Lun.”
Aina tilted her delicate chin slightly, drawing an elegant, proud line along her neck. Her crimson eyes shimmered with temptation and dominance as she lightly curled one finger toward Xia Lun.
Xia Lun looked at the scenery around them and sighed. “Aina, is this really appropriate?”
“What?”
Xia Lun said mournfully, “Just look around us. Everything’s completely exposed. How is this any different from having sex out in the wild… Ahem.”
“We’re clearly inside a spaceship,” Aina protested. She then patted the large bed beneath her. “The ship is merely invisible. And look—the bed is still here, isn’t it? How could this count as being outdoors?”
“I still feel a little strange about it… What if another traveler’s ship happens to pass by?”
“How could that happen? I’m the Scarlet Goddess. People from other worlds wouldn’t dare come here casually. And even if someone really did pass by, they wouldn’t be able to see us.” Aina spoke as though it were obvious. She had already fallen back onto the bed, crossing her long legs. Her toes curled and stretched slightly, beckoning Xia Lun in their own way. “Come here, Xia Lun.”
“I still don’t think we should be this perverted.” Xia Lun shook his head.
“Stop pretending to be shy. Have you forgotten, Xia Lun? Our first time was out in the deserted countryside.” Aina was growing dissatisfied with his hesitation.
“That was an accident…” Xia Lun coughed lightly.
After all, they had just finished fighting at the time, and the aftereffects of the strength potion Miss An Koula had given him had kicked in. On top of that, Aina had deliberately tempted him. Xia Lun hadn’t exactly been in a state to think things through.
“And besides, we had a tent that time,” Xia Lun continued.
“You’re taking forever. Are you coming or not?” Aina’s patience seemed to have run out. She gave a soft snort, and her cheeks flushed faintly with irritation—or perhaps something else. “If you’re not coming, don’t come looking for me tonight.”
“At least let’s use a blanket…”
Before he could finish, an irresistible force seized him. Aina suddenly reached out, caught Xia Lun by the wrist, and pulled him toward her with all her strength.
Caught off guard, Xia Lun fell straight into her warm, fragrant embrace.
Aina spread her arms around him, as though welcoming him and restraining him at the same time, holding him tightly. She raised her face, and there was no trace of teasing or command left in her eyes—only pure, misty tenderness. She revealed her most defenseless self to him without reservation.
…
Time passed amid the silent cosmos and their mingled breathing. It seemed to last for ages, and yet only an instant.
Aina gently pushed against Xia Lun’s sweat-damp chest, her voice soft and husky in the aftermath. “I’m done, Xia Lun. Let me go.”
Once she had gained a little freedom, she rolled to the side and stretched languidly. Her face was filled with satisfaction and relaxation, as though every pore of her body radiated contentment.
“What about me?” Xia Lun arched a brow as he looked at his wife, his hands roaming freely over her.
“You can take care of yourself,” Aina replied casually. “It’s your own fault for having so much stamina.”
“Huh? Aina, what do you take me for?”
“A convenient toy?” Aina tilted her head and looked at him.
“Hey, hey, hey! That’s going too far!” Xia Lun protested, reaching out to tickle her.
“What? You want to rebel against me?” Aina’s brows lifted slightly in response to his bluster. “Believe me, I can tie you up.”
“That’s low, Aina. You can’t do this.”
“Why not?” Aina smugly raised one leg and swung it lightly in the air, completely unconcerned that she was revealing herself—or perhaps deliberately doing so. “I’m the Demon King. Selfishness and greed are my defining traits.”
Xia Lun grabbed Aina by the ankle and pulled her back beneath him, his hot breath brushing against her face.
“You’d better think carefully, Xia Lun. Do you know what I’ll do to you if you go through with this?” Aina narrowed her eyes.
“I don’t know.” Xia Lun’s answer was short and decisive. He chose the most direct way to silence that little mouth, which was always spouting threats or temptations.
But Aina had never been one to passively endure anything.
Cold magical chains wrapped around Xia Lun’s limbs.
“You foolish man.” Aina sneered disdainfully, tapping a finger against his chest. “Do you really think you can resist me, Xia Lun? If you’re willing to kneel obediently right now, kiss the tips of my toes, and bark like a puppy, I might just let you go.”
Xia Lun remained silent.
“Crack—”
Under Aina’s astonished gaze, the magical chains around Xia Lun’s body shattered, piece by piece.
“Aina…”
Xia Lun locked his fingers tightly with hers, preventing her from escaping easily.
“At last…” Xia Lun lowered his head and leaned close to her ear. His warm breath brushed against her earlobe, and his voice carried the excitement he had suppressed for so long—the exhilaration of revenge. “I’ve finally waited for this day! Aina, the wheel of fortune turns. I’ve completely merged with the Spirit Realm. You’re no longer my match!”
A trace of panic flashed through Aina’s eyes. Her magic surged violently, and even more magical chains emerged from the void, sweeping toward Xia Lun with a howling roar. But they could not halt his advance. He tore them apart once again with a single pull.
“Aina… my dear Aina.”
A smile that could almost be called gentle appeared on Xia Lun’s face. Yet in Aina’s eyes, that smile was more unsettling than a demon’s. He lightly kissed her forehead. His tone was tender, but it carried an unquestionable sense of control.
“From now on… I’m the one in charge. Enjoy yourself, my goddess.”
Aina finally realized that a certain “balance” had been completely shattered. Yet her soft whimpers and powerless resistance only served to fan the flames.
In the cold expanse of the universe, two perfectly attuned heartbeats gradually became one.
