Aina's Thoughts

The distance from Oer City to Olifendo City was not considered very long; taking an airship, the journey would only take a day and a night.

The airship didn't fly particularly fast, but it was still far beyond what a galloping carriage on the ground could compare to. If they traveled by land, it would take at least three days.

And if Xia Lun and the others were to travel on their own by tearing through spatial rifts, it wouldn't even take a minute...

But doing so would undoubtedly completely defeat the original purpose of their outdoor adventure.

Just like going on a vacation, the goal naturally wasn't just the beautiful scenery at the destination... It was also the traffic jams and various frustrating incidents along the way that made the final scenery a precious comfort.

The room was no different from a regular high-end inn.

The airship flew very steadily. Unless one looked out the window at the clouds slowly retreating backwards, it was hard to even notice they were flying in the air.

Aina placed her hand on the bed in the room. With a faint flash of light, she stored it in her ring, and then placed the bed she had brought with her in its original spot.

Aina's ring currently held two beds. One was from the old days at the Volund Manor, while the other bore the deep memories of the vampire castle.

Every time they stayed somewhere, this was already standard procedure.

If she dirtied an unfamiliar bed outside, Aina always felt a bit uncomfortable in her heart.

Aina lay on the bed and lazily rolled over, letting out a sluggish and endearing murmur. The familiar scent made her feel very relaxed...

But the setup was far from over.

Aina raised her hand, her fingertips moving elegantly through the air. Dense magic arrays appeared out of thin air in front of her, then silently merged into the surrounding walls, leaving no trace behind.

Privacy protection was obviously also very important.

Immediately following that, more powerful defensive arrays unfolded layer by layer, constructing an invisible barrier.

To set up magic arrays so effortlessly, probably only Aina could do it.

Back when Aina did these setups outside for the first time, Xia Lun even thought it was to prevent him from running away...

"Done."

With everything properly arranged, Aina finally turned to Xia Lun, opening her arms with a beaming smile.

Xia Lun did not hesitate to hug her back, and the two of them embraced, rolling around on the bed a few times.

Aina's silvery laughter echoed in the small space. Xia Lun leaned in, his warm kisses gently landing on Aina's cheeks, and he affectionately rubbed his forehead against hers.

Afterward, Xia Lun buried his head in front of Aina's chest.

"What's wrong?" Aina held Xia Lun's head, her fingers gently combing through his hair.

"Nothing."

Xia Lun slowly raised his head, his gaze intertwining with Aina's. As their eyes met, a silent sweetness flowed through the air, and both of them couldn't help but curl up the corners of their mouths.

"What are you smiling at, Xia Lun?" Aina couldn't hold back, covering her mouth as she giggled, her eyes curving into crescents.

Xia Lun's voice carried a warmth. "I don't know either. I just can't help but smile when I see you."

"Are you saying I look funny?" Aina feigned dissatisfaction, extending a slender finger to gently poke Xia Lun's cheek.

Xia Lun shook his head. "Of course not... I mean, seeing you makes me feel really happy."

"Me too." Aina leaned down, her warm breath brushing past Xia Lun's ear as she whispered softly.

Xia Lun's head buried back down, affectionately nuzzling against that reassuring softness again and again.

Aina was truly not small. Although not exaggeratedly massive, and usually cleverly concealed by her loose mage robes, whether it was the perfectly plump curves or the delicate, warm touch, they were absolutely top-tier. In this regard, Xia Lun had absolute authority to speak.

Aina naturally wouldn't blame Xia Lun for such an offense; she simply hugged him tighter.

Her wings spread open, softly pressing against Xia Lun's back.

Aina's wings really had many wonderful uses.

The wings were quite strong and as flexible as an extension of her limbs.

At this moment, the wings pressed tightly behind Xia Lun, like a pair of invisible, gentle hands, drawing him deeper into her embrace.

Sometimes, even when Aina shyly pushed him away with her hands, those wings would incredibly honestly wrap him toward her, putting on a display of her conscious and subconscious mind fighting each other.

When Xia Lun asked about it later, Aina would just turn her head away, stammering and unable to explain clearly.

"Actually... I thought about it before, whether I should add a pair of wings to you too." Aina gently bit Xia Lun's earlobe, her voice carrying a lingering trace of amusement.

"Huh?" Xia Lun froze for a moment.

"Having wings is very convenient, isn't it?" Aina said playfully, then softened her tone. "But well... thinking about it carefully, modifying you without asking for your opinion first probably really wouldn't be very good..."

Xia Lun forcefully pinched and rubbed Aina's cheeks, turning her words into muffled whimpers.

"Wu—Xia Lun, I knew I was right not to do it back then." Aina finally broke free from his demonic clutches, glaring at him with puffed-up cheeks.

"Of course. What human grows wings? I'm not of the Winged Tribe."

"Uh-huh." Aina's eyes shifted, flashing a hint of slyness. "Xia Lun, actually, I also thought about secretly attaching a tail to you before you resurrected... Whenever your heart fluttered, your tail would wag non-stop at me..."

Xia Lun: ...

"Good thing you only thought about it," Xia Lun said fiercely. "Otherwise, you'd definitely be in for it."

Xia Lun couldn't accept waking up from a sleep only to find out he was somewhat no longer human.

A tail, huh...

Xia Lun looked behind Aina.

The Demon King didn't have a tail, which felt a bit like a pity.

If she did have one, it would definitely be quite a nice toy for him, just like her wings.

...

"Xia Lun! You're back! Where did you go to play? Did you have fun?" Liyana excitedly pounced forward, only to be dodged by Xia Lun with a quick sidestep.

"Went back to Aina's hometown," Xia Lun replied casually.

Mo Lini stood timidly to the side. "Welcome back!"

"Mm, I'm back." Xia Lun showed a slight smile toward her. "Liyana didn't cause any trouble, did she?"

"No... no, probably..." Mo Lini seemed a bit unsure. "Liyana stayed outside for several nights and didn't sleep in the manor, so I don't really know what she was doing..."

"Hehe..." Liyana scratched her head in embarrassment, showing a silly smile.

Xia Lun helplessly rolled his eyes at this girl, immediately understanding everything.

"By the way, where is Luo Lun?" Aina looked around, only then realizing they seemed to be short one person.

"Luo Lun left temporarily, saying she had a mission," Liyana reported. "But don't worry, she said she will be back."
