Academy of Truth Magic

Xia Lun and Aina stepped out of the spatial rift, their feet landing on solid yet unfamiliar ground.

"Where is this?"

Xia Lun looked around at the scenery. In the distance were the angular silhouettes of buildings shimmering with the faint light of runes, while close by was a dark gray rocky ground. No matter how he looked at it, it didn't seem like they were anywhere near Olifendo.

But with Aina's mastery over spatial magic, she definitely wouldn't have made a mistake with their landing spot. She must have intentionally brought him here.

"Ahead is Oer City," Aina said slowly, her voice steady, clearly knowing their destination well.

"Oer City?" Xia Lun searched his memory but couldn't find anything about this city. It wasn't a place he was familiar with at all.

"It's a city that has only risen in the last three hundred years, so it's normal that you don't know it," Aina chuckled softly. She naturally reached out, her fingertips hooking into Xia Lun's palm, gently pulling him closer. "This is the location of the Truth Magic Academy."

Xia Lun suddenly understood.

He had actually heard Liyana mention this name several times, and he knew that this organization represented the forefront of current magical research and development.

"Why are we here?" Xia Lun was a bit confused. Wasn't their destination Olifendo?

Aina slightly raised her delicate chin, her pink lips pouting adorably. "It's rare for the two of us to be alone. Why should we go back so soon? There's no harm in playing outside a little longer."

She shook Xia Lun's hand, acting a bit spoiled.

Seeing his wife rarely show such an attitude, Xia Lun naturally wouldn't refuse her request.

"Alright, whatever you say." Xia Lun suppressed the heat and throbbing in his heart, wrapping his arm around Aina's shoulder and rocking her gently.

As for Liyana... with Mida and Yisi there, there shouldn't be any problems. Plus, with Mo Lini and Musen watching over her, she probably wouldn't cause too much trouble.

Compared to Liyana, of course, it was more important to keep his wife happy first.

"This place is located on the west side of Olifendo, so it's not too far away," Aina explained, leaning contentedly against his arm. "Besides, there are specialized regular airship routes in the city that go directly to Olifendo, so transportation is very convenient."

Xia Lun nodded, letting Aina lead him toward that uniquely styled magical city.

Ahead, the towering city walls gradually became clear.

Even more eye-catching were the levitating platforms bobbing up and down in front of the walls, operating busily. Like giant metal lotus leaves, they ascended and descended smoothly, transporting crates of goods. They emitted low hums and the clicking sounds of gears meshing, while the airflow stirred up fine dust on the ground.

"The principle behind those platforms is the same as Olifendo floating above the magic stone veins; they rely on repulsion crystals to levitate," Aina explained lightly. "This technology was also originally developed by the Truth Magic Academy."

Arriving at the city gates, they were naturally stopped by the guards.

Xia Lun was just about to show his Olifendo student ID, but Aina beat him to it, elegantly revealing a uniquely designed crest.

The main body of the crest consisted of two intricate staffs, seemingly made of light, crossing each other. Behind them were inlaid magical patterns flowing like dancing flames, exuding a restrained yet majestic aura.

Upon seeing the crest, the guards froze for a moment, then immediately bowed in salute, their voices carrying a trace of imperceptible nervousness: "My Lady."

"Mhm." Aina merely nodded lightly and withdrew the crest.

Subsequently, a guard immediately stepped forward respectfully, making a gesture to lead the way, while another guard quickly turned around, whispering a report into a communication magic device.

"We will look around on our own," Aina said casually, dismissing the guards.

"What was that?" Xia Lun leaned in closer and asked Aina. The crest she had just pulled out was clearly not simple.

"Didn't Liyana mention it before?" Aina looked completely unfazed. "I am a mage of the Truth Magic Academy."

Xia Lun didn't think an ordinary mage would hold such status.

"Oer City is quite a famous magical city, Xia Lun. Guess what is produced in abundance here? If you guess right, there's a reward." Aina narrowed her eyes like a little fox, cleverly changing the subject.

"Is it some kind of magical device?" Xia Lun replied casually.

The development of magical devices here was clearly a cut above other cities. Just on the streets, Xia Lun had already seen quite a few novel gadgets.

"What a pity, Xia Lun. The answer naturally isn't that simple." Aina shook her head gently. "It's not... It seems the reward will have to wait until tonight."

"But I guessed wrong."

Aina wore a beaming smile. "Of course, there is also a reward for guessing wrong."

Catching Aina off guard, Xia Lun stole a kiss on her cheek. Not to be outdone, Aina stood on her tiptoes and forcefully kissed him back.

"So, what is it?" Xia Lun brought the topic back.

"It's spatial rings," Aina scratched Xia Lun's palm. "This place produces spatial rings in abundance. Nowadays, most of the spatial rings in the world almost all come from here."

"This thing can be mass-produced?" Xia Lun was extremely surprised.

In Xia Lun's understanding, spatial items were extremely precious. After all, only incredibly powerful mages could rely on large magic arrays to sever space, compress it, and fuse it into accessories.

The wedding rings currently on Xia Lun and Aina's hands used to be just ordinary rings. Aina must have spent a lot of effort to modify them into what they were now.

"The production cost of a spatial ring is still quite high, but they aren't as precious as they used to be." Aina brushed a lock of hair behind her ear. "Nowadays, through a convergence-type magic array, a high-tier mage can control the magic power of multiple mid-to-low-tier mages to obtain the power to compress space."

Xia Lun nodded slightly.

The utilization of power in this era had indeed reached a higher level compared to the past.

Those people from the Grand Cathedral were the same. Through special methods, they gathered the power of numerous priests into one bishop, and the resulting explosive power could even allow them to exchange blows with him.

Such techniques did not exist a thousand years ago.

"Next... should we go find an inn?" Xia Lun scratched Aina's palm again, the implication self-evident.

The reward Aina had promised him earlier was due to be cashed in.

Arriving in a new city, the first thing any traveler had to do was naturally to find a place to stay.

Usually, Aina would be the one to ask this, but today she hadn't said anything for a while, so Xia Lun couldn't help but ask.

But this time, Aina shook her head. "There's no need."

"Are we not staying here tonight?" Xia Lun was slightly taken aback.

"Of course not, I mean we don't need to stay in an inn tonight." Aina poked Xia Lun's cheek and chuckled softly. "I have a place here."
